There was a single candle on the counter, but Shane figured he wouldn’t count that as “fuss,” because Tomei was sitting on the side of the tub, the candlelight making his eyes shine. Tomei stood, and Shane saw that he was dressed in his prized silk kimono with its hand-painted scene of a wooded mountainside, an inheritance from his Japanese grandfather.
