Chapter 27
His heart thundered in his chest from the simple kiss. He flicked his tongue out, brushed lightly across that adorable bottom lip. She gasped and she opened her eyes. Close, the color indeterminate in the lamplight, he could see almost nothing but the deep black of her pupils. She pulled back to regard him with something akin to wonder, the corners of her mouth turning up, the bottomless pools of her eyes shining.
“You call that a kiss?” Lane bit at her bottom lip, adorable pout, hesitant and wanting.
“I’m not much for sticking labels on a thing,” Guil said. “But if we’re going for words, I thought I’d call it a fantastic start.”
She fell into his arms.
