Chapter 2

Waking up in a cold and crammed cell, Y/N looked around to see she was captured in a what seemed to be a prison. She quickly got to the feet and threw herself at the cell bars in fear and confusion. It wasn't long until she heard someone speak from behind her. "You woke up. Didn't think you would."

Looking back she saw a dirty blonde guy with blue eyes sitting on the ground.

"Now before you freak out more and think why are you in here with a guy? It's because your by far the most dangerous victim apparently. So don't be freaking out on me." He said while standing on his feet.

"Where am I? Why am I here? I need to go back to my husband." She said while burning up.

As her hair was burning red and the air was growing humid around her. He knew she was going to blow. He didn't care as he walked up to her and place his hand on her shoulder ignoring the pain.

"Look, I know it's hard to hear this now but whatever life you had is gone now. You really need to control your breathing or your going to burn this whole place down."

Tears streamed down her face as she felt her chest burning with intense heat. She didn't want to kiss her life away. She wanted her fiance back, she wanted to start a family, she wanted a perfect life but instead she's in a cell with no explanation to why.

"Hey, it's going to be okay. Trust me, these guys know what happened to us and want to help. Maybe even fix our problem."

The moment he said those words. She looked up at him with enough hope to calm her down.

"Really?"

"Yeah so can you just do one thing for me and focus on your breathing before you catch me on fire? He asked as his hand was smoking.

"Oh shit, are you okay?!" She asked while backing away from his grasp.

He simply chuckled as if she said something funny. "Yeah relax. See all better."

As he said that, his hand was quickly healing like it was magic.

"Whoa, how did you do that?" She asked.

"Seems your not putting it together that your not the only one with super powers. Did you by chance touch something that you shouldnt have? Like a green goop that seemed alive?"

"Yeah, wait that's why this is all happening?"

"I don't know what it was but we aren't the only ones that were exposed to the harmful substance. Apparently there are others just like us in other cells."

"How do you know all of this?"

"The gaurds are very vocal when they do their body count every few hours to make sure we don't break out somehow."

"Why are they keeping us here? Why are we locked up?"

"We are dangerous, why would they not keep us isolated from the world? We are the unlucky few that got into something that we shouldn't have."

The two then heard yelling off in the distance. "Get her back in the cell!"

Along with a few screams from a girl. Y/N and the guy looked out of the cell and saw them clamp a metal collar on a woman. The crazy thing about her was she was all black and white. She was dripping black goo as she was fighting with all her might with the gaurds. The moment they clamped the collar on her she collapsed to the ground as reformed into a woman with aubern red hair and pale skin.

"I don't get paid enough to deal with this shit

" The gaurds said while dragging the girl in a cell.

"What was wrong with her?" Y/N asked.

"Don't know, but the gaurds aren't the nicest when it comes to us being different."

"What do you mean?"

"This isn't the first one that put up a fight. There's a reason. You'll find out soon enough why we need to all here. I myself have an idea what's going on, I hope it's not true though."

"What, what's going on?"

"This isn't the first time I ran into a green slime goo that was all around my town. Back when I was younger, I experienced the same thing. This however is different. It still changes who you are but not in the same way."

Y/N was going to ask more but heard a gaurd speak up nearby.

"Alright Number 11 is hiding somewhere in her cell. Can anyone reactivate her collar so I can see her?!"

"It is activated sir."

"Shit, we have a runner!"

It wasn't long before they heard a girl yelling off in the distance.

"Let me go!! Please I don't want to be here!!"

The two saw a gaurd holding a girl with long black hair as she was kicking her legs trying to escape his grasp. He threw her back in the cell rather aggressively and locked the cell door. Y/N watched as the girl suddenly sat down while sitting on the ground crying. Then her collar changed red and she started disappearing.

"Why are the gaurds treating these people like this?"

"Their scared of us. The government doesn't care about us so they don't care if they gaurds are violent with us. There's not much we can do." He said while leaning against the cell door.

"That doesn't give them the right to hurt them! There's just as scared, if not more scared then those gaurds!" Y/N glared at a gaurd as he walked by. "Hey, you shouldn't treat them like that! What did they do to you?!" She yelled as she was outraged.

The gaurd looked over at the girl and got a tazer. "What was that?" He growled.

She didn't back down as she grabbed the metal bars feeling the heat burning in her stomach.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?! Just because we are different doesn't mean you can trust us like criminals!"

The guy held up the tazer with the intention to shoot.

The girl didn't seem to budge as the guy next to her got in front of her as if creating a wall from her and the guy. "Hey, there's no need to get violent with her sir. She's just scared is all."

The guy glanced at the girl then walked off.

"Why did you do that?" The girl nearly scolded him as she wanted to hit him.

"You need to understand, these guys work at a prison. They think we ARE crooks. Villains in fact. As long as we cooperate then we can get past their abuse."

She didn't want to admit he was right but he was and she knew it. Letting out a sigh, she glanced over at the cell with the two girls hiding inside.

'I don't understand, we aren't villains... Are we?'
