A Meeting of Gods

"I have concerns," The lion bellowed, the stardust within his fur dropped to the floor with each step. He stood on the rings of Saturn, with meteors flashing past. Illuminating the red glasses that sat before his eyes. Wisdom within the depths that sparkled like the embers of a fire.

"Of our chosen?"

The voice belonged to a serpent, long and thin. The stars that dotted his blue body glowed bright against its yellow spectacles.

"I sense an unease stirring under Rider's skin. One that might snub the flames that are needed to fight what is to come." The lion said to the serpent.

"You are not one to question your decisions, Proelefsi." The snake said, Proelefis scoffed at this and stared into the stars before them.

"Interitus, Proelefsi."

Both creatures turned to sound as the goat trotted through the stardust with a look of concern dappling its face. The blue round frames on its snout almost fell to the floor with the swiftness of his hooves.

"Tumultus? What has you in such a stir, brother?" Proelefsi roared, his tail flicked with anxiety as the goat nearly trampled over Interitus.

"The God of humanity! He has awakened. His time of chaos and ruin is upon us."

The lion and serpent both shared a quick look of horror, "We don't have time to choose a new protector." Proelefsi said to his brothers. Putting a claw to the stars, he began to draw.

"We must carve the beauty of complete and incomplete. Come, brothers, for our rider must meet his stead before the time runs like sand. All is unclear if a hero will rise from the dirty, or our mistakes have doomed all within our grasp!"

Without question, the serpent used its tail and the goat his hoof to create an image of a two headed horse in the stars. Changing the skies irreparably.

"O Rider," Proelefsi said, his voice bellowing.

"I send you a warning. Find the stead, but hear my scream! With two heads, he is seen, follow the traveler to his place of being."

The brothers stood back and stared up at the constellation they had created before the serpent turned to Proelefsi, "The humans will scream when they see this."

Proelefsi roared out in laughter, "Perhaps, or maybe they will see, we are fighting for them. Just as our chosen three."

I jolted up in bed with confusion, almost causing me to panic until reality swamped back. I was sitting in my bed, with the covers tossed on the floor. My dream still fresh in my mind. Riding on the back of a horse. The creature bellowing to the skies of stars above, and in those stars, a collection that make a two headed horse.

"I haven't had a dream about horses since I was ten and in girl scouts," I said to no one in particular. The soft sound of angry rain soothed the anxiety in my bones. Glancing at my closed door, I almost had the childish urge to wake up my friend and get comfort. Why did I feel such a…confusing connection to Loveall? It was as if I knew him my entire life.

Yanking my covers back onto my body, I let my head hit the pillow.

"O Rider."

It was the last thing I heard before falling back into the discomfort of sleep.
