Chapter 1.1

(SELENA'S POV)

It's the first day of class in a new school. Typical. I finished introducing myself to the class as always. Everything is proceeding as how it's supposed to be.

After seats were assigned, I had to sit on the back right of the room near the window. Everyone seems to be minding their own business, but I can feel that something's off. Something's missing. Or rather, someone.

Immediately after thinking that, someone opened the front door of the classroom. It was a guy with red hair and an undercut. Judging by his physique, I can tell that he's up to no good.

He was breathing heavily, probably from running upstairs. He swiftly looked at the clock by the door then rushed to my direction.

He sat on my left which means he's directly beside the window. He was prepping up his bag but instead of taking out the notebooks, he put his bag on the table and used it as a pillow.

I can't help but look at him. He's sleeping soundly and I can tell that he's really tired. I turn my attention to the board afterwards when I heard the door open and the teacher come in.

I look at the guy beside me again, thinking whether I should wake him up or not. I keep looking alternately between the teacher and him and decided to just lightly tap him. If it doesn't work, well, it's on him.

I tap on his right shoulder two times but he didn't budge so I decide to leave him be. The teacher continues to teach. Interestingly, they don't roam around so there is only a small chance for him to be discovered. Or maybe they already did but then decided to ignore him.

After the first session ended, a bunch of my classmates quietly exit the room. I am left with the person beside me who is still sleeping. I tap him lightly again just in case he does wake up but he still doesn't respond.

I look at his eyes covered by the red hair. Sigh. I guess I should go now or else I'll get lost.

I leave him in the room alone and tried to roam around the school for a bit before returning to the classroom.

I enter the room and see that he's awake. Interestingly, he's also directly looking at me.

Huh, weird.

I go to my seat without minding him but I can't ignore how intensely he was staring at me from the side. He looks away for a bit before he starts staring again. He's really weird.
