When You Transmigrate to Other Times

"The world is full of mystery. I've heard that all my life and it seems to be true. But if I go through something mysterious myself, will I be believed? Maybe I'll think I'm crazy, or everything that happens to me in my everyday life is just something I'm dreaming and soon I'll wake up. Questions without answers..." Everything changes after he returns from a pilgrimage to a miraculous statue of the Holy Virgin Mary, when he becomes the victim of a plane accident in which, with no hope left, he prays alongside the other passengers, gives his final blessing, and then... And then what? He wakes up on a bench. Where exactly? Right in the heart of the most important square in the world, in Rome, caput mundi, as the Latins used to say. What is he doing there? He remembered the airplane accident, but he also had other memories. How did he get here, what year is it? He was at the Vatican, but still... Is it the year 1492?!

Chapter XXXVII: What choice will I make?

Everything changes. As a philosopher would say, time changes and we change with it. The month of May has passed and thus, the first month in this world has come to an end. I remember how a month ago I was in the middle of my parish, preparing for my journey to South Korea, the wonderful places I have seen, and, last but not least, the presence of Benjamin and his warmth.

Arriving here, I thought I had met my soulmate, but I discovered that it was actually Cardinal Borgia, I killed a woman unjustly, and became a vampire. So many things have happened in just one month, even though I would have thought it had been a whole year.

As I sat and meditated on the things that have happened to me in this period, I received a visit. It was Julius, my colleague and my first protector in this world. As soon as I saw him, I got up from my chair and hugged him, then shook his hand.

"Julius, I'm so glad you came to visit. To whom do I owe this meeting?"
