43 How to Get Away with Murder

Seirin and Shutoku finished their match with a draw. Since it was just the preliminaries, there was no overtime granted and both moved forward in the listings.

The players weren't satisfied but accepted it nonetheless.

As Takao said, the match felt like a bomb that didn't go off. It was anti-climatic.

However, the teams didn't have time to focus on a match that was completed. They now needed to get ready for their upcoming battles.

For Seirin in particular, their upcoming game was one they - the seniors specifically - had been preparing for. It was the match against Kirisaki Daichi.

Just remembering what that team did to Kiyoshi the previous year had their blood boiling and their thirst for revenge was tripled. Although the first years weren't fully aware of what happened, they understood how much the seniors were wanting to win this game.

Kirisaki Daichi was scum.

Yui wasn't sure if she wanted to watch this match but she had already promised Kagami she'd be there so there was no room to back out.

On the way to the gym, she had stopped by a pharmacy to purchase some cream and bandages. A little gift for her favorite team.

She also bought some hair slides, tweezers, super glue, and duct tape from the nearby department store and made a phone call to a good friend.

Once everything was ready, she took the train to the station nearest to the stadium and arrived just in time for the start of the match.

Down on court, Kiyoshi was struggling to keep up with his growing injuries. There were bruises forming on different parts of his arms and stomach from Kirisaki Daiichi's foul play.

Kagami was losing his temper and the rest of Seirin was just as furious. Especially since the players committed the fouls out of the ref's sight.

No one was happy with what they witnessed. Many of the other schools knew of Kirisaki's cheating ways but none had proof of it so they weren't able to report it. Therefore, they were all secretly hoping that Seirin would win this match, and everyone rooted for them.

Yui could barely keep a straight face during the game. She kept flinching and wincing every time Kiyoshi got hit and clenched the seat bottom till her knuckles turned white. It was awful - way more in real life compared to when she watched the anime.

Honestly, she wouldn't be surprised if Hanamiya Makoto turned into some psychopathic killer later on with the way he acted. Plus he's got that genius IQ.

"Those bastards," she muttered angrily. And then came that terrible moment when one of the Kirisaki Daiichi's players fell letting his arm fall directly on Kiyoshi's face.

""KIYOSHI!"" Seirin yelled.

Hyuga swerved to Hanamiya and shouted, "Stop f***ing around you bastard! How dare you - again!"

"Ehh? You're accusing me?" Hanamiya gave a smirk. "Can't you see? It was an accident,"

Hyuga nearly charged at him if Kiyoshi hadn't stood up.

"Senpai," Kuroko looked at him with worry.

Kiyoshi stuck out his arm and glared at Hanamiya, "To protect the fragile hearts of my team, to protect them if they're threatened, I'll sacrifice myself to do so. That's why I came back."

Yui made sure to snap a photo of him and grinned.

"Of course, Kiyoshi Teppei, the Iron Heart of Seirin won't fall so easily,"

Hanamiya was obviously angry seeing Kiyoshi getting up like that. He hated guys like him and despised things like companionship, trust, and whatever bullshit Seirin has going for them. To him, geniuses are the same as trash when broken.

And it was his job to break them.

"Oi, get up," he kicked Seto who was dozing on the bench. The player lifted his blindfold and adjusted his vision before sitting up.

"Pass the gel," Seto said. He placed the gel on his hair to hold it back exposing a birthmark on his forehead. Wearing a smirk, he made his way on court.

With the addition of this new player, Seirin was confused and anxious. Hanamiya definitely had something planned.

Their thoughts were soon proven to be correct when Hanamiya intercepted a pass and stole the ball.

"Shit," cursed Izuki as he and the others chased after him.

Unfortunately, they scored and their points went up.

Soon, a pattern formed where Seirin would pass the ball only for it to be stolen by Hanamiya increasing the gap of the points.

Seirin had fallen into the spider's web.

Time was running out and everyone was worried. What was going to happen? Was Kirisaki Daiichi going to win again?

When Kuroko confronted Hanamiya, Yui decided that now was the time to pull off her little...plan.

She slipped out of the main stadium and quickly made her way to one of the hallways where there were no cameras and no people before dressing in her disguise. Yes, another disguise.

After that, she found her way to the Kirisaki Daiichi locker room and broke in using the vents which came from outside. For the record, Yui did a LOT of research and observation before making this plan.

Thankfully there were vents everywhere in this building which led to all sorts of places. If one could stand the dust, insects, and suspicious-looking liquids, you could use the vents to get anywhere.

A buzzing of her phone caught her attention and she answered it quietly.

"Haru-chan? You're here?...Great! The vent I marked is near the south entrance. Just follow the sticker I placed there...okay, see you soon!" Yui hung up and smirked.

Some minutes later, Haruka turned up and entered the locker room through the same vent and saw Yui already progressing with her plan.

"Going all out huh?" Haruka grinned wickedly. "Well, I'm not complaining. I always did love a good 'F*** you' prank."

Yui mirrored her grin and replied, "Trust me, these dudes deserve it. Today is the day Karma bites them in the ass."

Meanwhile, the game was now in the final quarter.

Riko finally withdrew Kiyoshi from the match as she couldn't bear to see him get more hurt. After a scolding from Hyuga and a promise from Kuroko, Kiyoshi left the rest up to them.

In the third quarter, Seirin was completely shut out with Hanamiya predicting their entire game but it would be different this time. The reason? Kuroko.

He changed the pass course independently managing to block out Hanamiya.

Hanamiya's spider web began to crumble with Kuroko snapping the threads and Hyuga breaking them out with the threes he finally managed to do.

Now that Seirin's adrenaline was up and their spirit returned, they were nearly unstoppable.

Yui made it back in time to see her man making a dunk and made sure she cheered loudly. He must've heard her voice because he glanced at the audience for a minute before turning back to the game.

She was wearing a mask and cap so anyone who knew her couldn't tell clearly it was her.

She shouted along with the crowd when Kuroko sent a powerful pass cutting past Hanamiya and was directly caught by Kagami who sent it through the rim.

Kirisaki Daiichi was finished.

The ending score was 76 - 70.

If they were unhappy now, they'll be in for an even worse surprise once they got back to their locker room.
