Nathan got a lot of time to think about his circumstances and plan of action during his training, the chat with Sillia, and his mother's scolding, which he had definitely listened to. The first thing he had to do was gather information.

Nathan's past didn't line up with the present. What he knew of the world and what had happened before his regression were mere fragments of the entire story.

If he wanted to prevent the disaster that would befall his family, he needed to gather more fragments and put together the complete picture. Only then could he smash it to pieces and prevent it from becoming reality.

Nathan got up. He already knew where to go.

Since he had been separated from the world for five days, a lot could have happened. There might be nothing there anymore, but Nathan decided to follow up on the only lead he had.

It was so early in the morning that the first rays of sunlight had yet to hit the streets. The bigger streets had lights on. But it wasn't like Nathan needed streetlamps to see even in the darkest of nights, much less the twilight of budding dawn.

Nathan trudged over to the fake construction site while getting more accustomed to the Sky Piercer Force amplifying his body's strength. He was clearly stronger than before, even if he still had a long way to go to reach his past life's strength.

However, he was stronger in a different way than in his past life. Before his regression, he had relied on physical strength and used various items, treasures, and things he stole from others to strengthen his body.

Now, it was more like he had upgraded the fuel instead of the engine. It was an interesting feeling.

"...What the fuck?"

Nathan stopped clenching and relaxing his fist as he arrived at his location and stared at the mountain-like sports hall with confusion. Five days were a lot in today's world. But the Vijang Syndicate had finished the promised sports hall that looked like it could house all the sporting youths at the same time in that window?

Nathan was surprised.

He shouldn't be since the Vijang Syndicate had built a supersized bunker under the city without anyone noticing. It wasn't a stretch for them to build a simple sports hall.

It was proof that Nathan had made the wrong choice when he decided not to be prudent before, and that it was the right choice to gather information and build his strength before doing anything.

Nathan considered entering the sports hall to take a look around and see if there were any traces of the tunnel. But the Syndicate would have people watching for suspicious activity or signs of someone investigating or looking for a tunnel.

He took a step back and looked at the building from a distance.

There was no way the tunnel had been the only entrance to the bunker.

Nathan hadn't gotten a perfect grasp of the bunker, but it had seemed square. As such, any other entrance should be somewhere in the city on the side of the tunnel's direction. Nathan followed the tunnel's past direction with his eyes to see where it led.

Maybe the Vijang Syndicate had built the bunker with a specific location in mind. Maybe there was a landmark or something they were aiming for.

Nathan frowned as his gaze landed on the Triangle straight in the tunnel's path but far beyond its end. It was almost on the complete other end of the city.

The trademark building of Avalio City, the Triangle was the tallest skyscraper in the city with its famous black triangle attached to the top with metal beams jutted out of the ground like a three-dimensional X marking the spot. But a triangle instead of an X.

'There's no way, right?'

As soon as he realized it, Nathan felt like it would be too obvious.

But at the same time, Avalio didn't have anything outstanding or extraordinary going for it aside from the famous Triangle. It was an impressive work of architecture, albeit slightly dull. It had a museum, art exhibitions, apartment and business floors, and floors available for hire.

It had been one hell of a fuss when it was being built since there were a bunch of complications with the Triangle itself. But Nathan couldn't remember any details aside from it being difficult to keep the Triangle in the air without the beams breaking and dropping it to the ground. But it had stayed in place for years, so they had obviously solved that.

However, before Nathan's regression, one of the first signs of the city's doom was the Triangle's fall. It coincided with the Vijang Syndicate to, in hindsight, a suspiciously coincidental degree.

It could have been simple sabotage. Someone brought down the symbol of Avalio City to start the free for all of the city.

Nathan narrowed his eyes.

He couldn't say anything for certain without taking a look for himself, so he trudged over to the Triangle.

Unlike the sports hall, he could enter freely and wander around without anyone watching for someone doing just that since the first few floors were open to the public. It was also early enough in the morning that even if they had just opened, there weren't many people to distract him when he tweaked his Peerless Perception as much as he could while scouring the halls.

He walked with his head lowered like he was trying to pierce through the floor with his gaze. However, even Nathan couldn't see through layers of solid earth to check if there was a bunker deep underground.

What surprised, Nathan, however, was that there wasn't a basement.

Even if it wasn't open to the public, shouldn't a building like this have had a basement almost just for the sake of having one? There were too many things a basement could be used for for a building requiring a lot of maintenance, cleaning, and surveillance not to have one.

However, even after walking around the ground floor several times, Nathan couldn't detect anything like a basement. If it was hidden, it was hidden extremely well.

Slowly, Nathan turned his gaze upward.

If there was nothing below, what about above?

Reintroducing the Triangle from chapter 2. I wonder what it is (other than a building).
