Chapter 25:An Archmage
When the knights followed Lucius,they suddenly glared at his hair,it was a bit messy but he was still handsome and was cool,then Owen glares at the other knights and he stop his self from laughing,though the knights looked cool and respectable,the way they look right now was very different.Their hair was messy and for others it resembles a cotton candy,and their faces was also a mess,
"pftt" owen couldn't hide his laughter so his voice crack and the knights stared at him "hey what's wrong owen" Ian ask "just hahaha look at our selves were like shits"he said and kept laughing,the Knights were all shock from Astria's magic that they didn't pay mind to their looks "ah" the knights who heard him gave a glance at each other and they burst from laughter "ehh pffttt" they laugh hard when they saw each other's funny faces, they were keeping a distance at Lucius but even so he can still hear them, Evan who was at Lucius side suddenly stop when Lucius paused and glanced back at the Knights
"heupp" the knights stopped from laughing and stand straight as Lucius watched them. "Enough with your jokes and don't be noisy" he said "yes your majesty" they answered but was still holding their selves, Evan stared at the knights and he saw how messy their hair was but he couldn't laugh as he was devastated and shock from Astria's hidden power, Lucius continued to walk and entered his office,as he sat down Evan stood beside him as the knights went down on their knees and bowed,They were aware as why they headed back to his office than went back to the knights quarter, Lucius was mad at them.
"my knights which are elite couldn't even handle a situation,they even let a foreign princess took over the situation and made her carry all of them, it's quite shameful, did my knights not went to battlefield for years" he ask as he clasp his hands, Lucius may be mad for their slow action but he knew that in that situation it was their best choice and he knew that ria was just capable of doing such things but still the knights needs to be scolded
"forgive me your majesty i didn't gave them a proper order and i was not capable enough to lead them" sir Joseph who had a cold looking face since earlier spoke,he was the captain but he was useless "it was also our fault for not securing the magic circle please punish me as well your majesty"Ian since he was also one of the mages that took care of the the magic circle "Please punish us as well your majesty" the knights shouted and begged Lucius "tsk return to your quarters and keep an eye on every noble that will visit the palace today as for your punishment all of you will spar with me for the next days" Lucius gave his cold stare and the knights sweats and trembled
It was the worst punishment they could ever received more worst than being sent to the battlefield,but they were at fault so they had no rights to refuse and must hold onto their lives,The knights left along with some secret orders that Lucius gave,Sir Joseph and sir El stayed at the office, Lucius was staring at the pile of paper that was under his table "Evan handle the contract and send it the tower so she'll be recognized as one of the empires mage" he said and Evan just nods "before that pardon me your majesty but when did you know that the princess had powers" he ask
"aren't you a priest why can't you tell and why can't you Sense her mana evan l" Lucius ask and Evan suddenly stop and his eyes widen "there are two reasons,one is that she was protected by some powerful priest or magician to hide her mana or she herself has a powerful mana that can't be felt by others which are weaker than her"he spoke with disbelief "and" Lucius was waiting for him "s-she was able to use powerful magic that means her mana is stronger than mine"he said like he was defeated
Sir Joseph and Sir El already knows but they were surprised to witness her power, "ah the princess is she an archmage?" evan ask and Lucius grin "yes" "her mana differs from others and the way she used her magic is interesting, it's no doubt that she's an archmage" he said "ah that's really impossible" Evan "but she is one of them so it's possible thus She's very useful,Evan I'll leave her in your care,i trust you'll do well" he said and Evan thought something
'wait was he nice to her because he knew she was useful,he tried to be a merciful emperor so that he can gain control of the princess, he's really a bastar*' he thought 'i was hoping for nothing and i pity the princess more,the sad truth about her contract was to be enslaved by this cruel man'
"If you want to loose your eyes then keep glaring at me" Lucius "forgive me i was rude your highness" Evan "you two can return and Evan announced to the nobles that i have returned and bring the other files,also schedule a meeting with the council tomorrow" Lucius "we'll take our leave your majesty" the knights bowed and left while evan lift his eyeglasses and turned to his usual workaholic look "yes your majesty" he said and went out along with the two knight but as soon he went out,he encountered Mark the chamberlain,
"ah sir Evan im glad that the emperor has finally returned,Duke Florence had left an official receipt for the emperor and a letter as well" he said "ah I'll take it to him and do prepare a food for his majesty, I'll also take a look at your report once im done with his majesty's order" "yes milord" he bowed and left, Evan just sigh he didn't even went far away and yet he needs to see his face again....
