5 1st Few Weeks 5.1

Qwen was happy with a smile plastered on his face. No, that wasn't right. He was far beyond the simple feeling of glee. For the 1st time in a long while he felt true excitement and fulfillment!

Qwen felt like he had purpose and a plan!

Very soon he would be rolling in dough too. He could then better prepare himself for the integration in a year with more recourses.

It's been two days since he had created his new gaming helmet and Qwen had been laying non stop. Qwen had to admit, the game was highly addictive. It was everything he knew about the system from his help sections that were found after he was laying in bed one night.

The came had countless features that included dungeons, survival missions, saving villages or becoming the lords over towns and cities among many other thing. There were wars that could be fought. You could be a farmer or a wandering rouge. There were no limit of classes and some classes were more role based and not so much combat based. Not everyone can handle the feeling of blood pouring all over their bodies after running a wolf though with a blade. A player could even become kings and queens of new lands and run a an entire country with a personal army. They can take the role of being a famous merchant or alchemist and selling wares throughout the world and become world renown. You could be literally anything.

Finally finished playing, Qwen put the gaming helmet away and focused on his 10 monitors and TV screens in his living room. He had been flooding the internet with streams of his gameplay for the last 2 days.

The game itself was now finished and was a self governing universe. He made it similar to mid evil earth and also the current solar system to keep thing similar to reality.

You would actually start in the city that you lived in, but the entire scenery had changed. You would start in a village, a city, or in a random, plain, forest, desert, or mountainous region. Each starting point offered rare different rewards and finds depending on location they had started in.

Finally Qwen had taken days to finally distribute his stats. It slipped his mind while making his gaming system and now he had time to focus on it. He began to distribute his stat points.

After upgrading his stats Qwen felt stronger. With a 25 END stat his endurance was over two times that of a normal person. A base stat of 10 in all physical traits are that of the average fit male on the planet.

He felt like he could take a knife to the gut and not receive much more than a flesh wound. Not because the knife wasn't sturdy enough but because the ordinary person wielding the knife wouldn't be wouldn't be strong enough. He simply couldn't exert enough force. His mana was high and he lightly tested his spells. He hadn't quite felt too safe about throwing spells around in his backyard.

He had already tested his physical body in his yard a day ago that found him able to jump 15 feet in the air from a perfect stand still. He read up on hand to hand techniques and studied the movements of a tai chi master online, but he still had troubles with the stances and execution.

He realized as he continued the movements, they began to become more refined. A new sun rose and fell and after another day and a half of practice he received a notification from the system.

<Skill unlocked Hand to Hand combat (Beginner 1%)>

So, even though he had only been practicing Tai Chi it unlocked 'Hand to Hand' combat skill in general. He had a brief tingling in his mind as it became flooded with information. He seen flaws in his punches and kicks and many ways to correct his form. He realized that he completely knew the entire martial art! He was currently a Tai Chi master! So the 1% in the system was him mastering an entire martial art on earth. So, he could learn every martial art on earth given enough time. The problem was that time wasn't on his side.

He had already used up some of his days but that was for training and growing his skills. Those would help him survive. Anything that helped him survive was worth it.

As he ate, he looked outside in the direction where he buried the goop from the Orcs body. It's only been days since this all began and it was still surreal. He could hear everything outside of his house for a few feet. His senses have all increased with his stats. His physical body was already outside of the realm of normal humans.

Is the system altering my genetic makeup? Is it even something so simple as genetics when regarding the system? It terrified Qwen on how powerful he had become. He became a super hero with a thought to add stat points.

Qwen then frowned. What if other humans pass the pre tutorial and gain abilities. Would they care that the planets was going to do this integration thingy? Or would they become super villian types? Human aren't meant to have these kinds of powers if our past deeds are any indicator of future results.

Qwen guessed he was targeted by the system but quickly dismissed that idea. He was a loner who pretty much was in a hopeless situation mentally. Hus stomach tied in knot when thought going to actually do it ....ending it all. The system stopped him and in a way saved his life. Of course not before trying to end it first. Had he had done it a year earlier, would all this still had happened? What if there were other people here? Mothers, fathers.....children?

Qwens mouth went dry and his heart ached at the thought. Innocent people could easily die! What could he do? WHY would he? Why would he help anyone for that matter. No one has cared about him in a long time. Yet, look where it brought him. He was on the verge of suicide.

If everything happening now was nothing else, it was a reminder of what he almost did to himself. A reminder of what he had almost done to himself. No, he had to find a way to try to help, to try to LIVE! He got a 2nd chance at life and he wouldn't squander it. He was terrified at his thought, though. He was essentially saying that he had to leave his home and....meet people.

He accepted that he may had to fight monsters. He even accepted that he could be killed at any moment at the end of all of this. Yet, just the thought of actually MEETING people made his breath get caught in his throat. Sweat began to line his brow and armpits. His hands shook. Qwen had severe social anxiety.

Using his current best weapon the internet he began to search for thing to help himself. He found countless tools and techniques to use when dealing with social interactions. The technique of squeezing your toes, as you speak, so you don't fidget your hands and keep yourself still.

"I got it!"

Qwen felt like he was ready after practicing for a few hours in the mirror. He also noticed his physique had improved. His muscles had become chiseled. His skin had significantly improved and his hair had more shine.

"Well, d*mn! I got sexy!"

He said with a big smile. Qwen cast ice touch so that's his hand turned blue and he felt like he looked like bad ass in the mirror. He put on one of his work suit because well that's all he really had. Then prepared to plan.

He was about to make his next move when alarms blared from all of his computer screens. He set the computers to sound an alarm when large buildup up mana appeared in a small area.

Qwen ran downstairs and froze. No matter what be did to prepare for this moment, there still was no way to be completely ready.

"Blackout detected!"

Next, he received confirmation from the system, but it was something unexpected.

<7 Mana Anomalies detected, do you want to be transported to one of them?>

"Whats a mana anomaly?"

<Mana Anomalies are locations with high concentration of mana descends on a location that is devoid of mana. During the Mana Anomalies a portal is opened from a low level dungeon dimension into this one. Due to the low amounts of mana, the monsters are the weakest and only very few are able to make it into your dimension, currently. During the pre-tutorial this is your chance to add more beings to the System on earth. There are not enough humans surviving the test. The system has added Mission options to your Status bar.>

So there other dimensions out there and one specifically that's a dungeon. It's for some reason connected to this world and drops monsters periodically. Currently, there were 7 others and he had to be teleported by the System.

'Yeah, that's not ominous.' Qwen thought to himself.

"Transport me to the anmoly that had the most people affected!"

A purple transparent light shined and surrounded Qwen and in a blink of an eye he was gone.

***********************************

A purple light flashed and a muscular man in a black suit that seemed to be a touch too snug, appeared from thin air in motes of bright blue dots. Qwen arrived slightly disoriented from the sudden changes in scenery.

<Locate and kill any monsters. Save the potential System users. Reward given upon completion.>

<Goblins 7/7>

Qwen was standing in front of a 2 story house in a suburban neighborhood. He could tell he was still in the United States but just where, he didn't know. Looking around he noticed all of the lights were out. The wind blew abnormally but the tress were still. Lightening shown in the sky periodically but, it seemed like he was looking at it from the inside of a glass dome.

So this was how the System kept things under wraps. It looked like he was no longer in his own reality. Which is why he was transported here.

All of the surround homes looked empty. No lights anywhere other than the occasional light shining though the moonlight. It looks like the monsters usually spawn near their general target. That's similar to the orc in his own home. He had to find which house had the monsters. He had to hurry or somone was going to be killed.

Quickly using his superior speed, stamina, and senses. He ran a few minutes until he heard a sound from one of the homes at the center of a culdasac.

Qwen took a deep breath and headed toward the driveway of the large 2 story home in front of him.

"Status."

As he moved closer to the door he could hear multiple smaller feet chattering. He stopped and peeked through the corner of a window that had the curtains torn down. He could see 3 in the living room and another in the kitchen but 3 were missing.

The system gave him basic information on the mosnters.

< Plains Goblins level 1>

The goblins were inside destroying anything they touched and couldn't eat. He a saw half eaten corpse of a family golden retriever.

"Dad, Nooo!"

"Kikikik!!"

The goblin downstairs went into a frenzy and began charging upstairs. At the same time Qwen took out his 5 foot black staff from his inventory. He took a deep breath, swallowed his fear then made his move.
