1 Although It Hurts

I-I couldn't believe it... He.. He killed her. He really killed her. Why? When? How? All these questions ring in my head, yet I can't seem to find an answer to any of them. She was my last hope. Any now I'll never get out... He knew it too. Yet he still rid me of her existence.. She was the only one who could get me out of here. The money needs to be paid, but no jobs are hiring. I can't pay the debt without her! How could he do this to me?!

My thoughts were interrupted when a raspy British voice spoke. "I did it for your own good.." The voice echoed. My own good?.. MY OWN GOOD?! "YOU RUINED MY LIFE! YOU RUINED EVERYTHING! AND JUST FOR MY OWN GOOD?! HOW THE HELL WAS THIS FOR MY OWN GOOD!" The audacity he has to say that! My life has fallen apart all because of him, and it's for my own good... I couldn't help but burst into tears. Everything I had was now gone, but he doesn't care, does he? If he did, this would have never happened. He knows what happens when I leave cemetery! "It may not seem like it, but it needed to be done. In the near future you may understand, for the circumstances I was under were not very comfortable to be in. The board has decided, playing this little game the have planned, will lead you to your answers. And we all know not to question the board.." He was right. Everyone knew how badly it would affect them if they questioned the board. The board basically runs the world. But what he said stuck with me, and then it dawned on me.. " SO THE BOARD THINKS MY LIFE, MY EVERYTHING, IS A GAME?! AND A GAME THEY 'SET UP' FOR ME AT THAT! YOU ARE ALL SICK!" The tears kept flowing. I just couldn't help them anymore. "The board needs your help. So you either work for them, or... well I think you know the rest." Of course I knew, but to think they would stoop that low has me sobbing. "I'll take my leave now. I will come back in 3 days when you have your answer. Although I think we all know what you will choose, if you value your dignity that is." He said as he left the hall.
