When the Stars Dissapeared from the Sky

When the stars dissapeared from the sky, would the night be as beautiful as it was? Would the moon shine alone in the darkness and miss its companion?

When the stars dissapeared from the sky, would it be ignored as its light was engulfed by superficial light from lamps?

When the stars dissapeared from the sky, how many people would miss it? Or would they ignore it as its existence was insignificant?

...

People were different since they was born. There were some people who was born with silver spoon in their mouth while the rest might not be luckier than them.

There were some people who was loved and pampered by their family but they felt so irritated. Their family would strive for the best to provide them and would talk to guide them so they could enjoy their life without worries yet, they thought it was an incessant nagging.

While for the others, they lacked of love and attention which forced them to grow alone, they were abandoned. They struggled by themselves with no one to rely on. Like a ship without the lighthouse to guide, they sailed uncertainly, not knowing which port to harbor. Even if they finally arrived at the port, they would be worn out because the ridiculous amount of energy consumed during the sail.

Everyone wished to be loved and pampered. But not everyone had the chance. Some people were loved since they were still a newborn baby, some others were working on it while the rest, didn't even have time and ability to acquire it.

People that born to this world were endowed with different things. From family, talent and many other things differed from each others.

A valuable thing for someone might be a trivial thing for the other and it was the other way around.

Why could it be happen?

It was because they have different starting line, the differences since their birth that made them need different things in life and as the result, they have different value.

A dollar was surely made no different for the jetsets but for the paupers, it was valuable. A dollar for the rich probably was not enough to buy the foods for their pets while a dollar for the poor was like a life saving straw that would help them to pass through the day. A thing in the eyes of different parties would surely have different value.

But in this world, everything was possible to happen. There was no certainty nor something fixed that was unchangeable because many variables would crossed and influence the life itself. The rich might become a pauper overnight and so the pauper that might be a rich suddenly. And Yun Lihua happened to experienced it.

Yun Lihua's family was a well off family in the upper circle of Long City. If her family was ranked among the other family, a top position would be surely occupied by them.

Her family owned Yun Corporation with some affiliates companies that operated in different type of business, starting from housing, manufacture, food and beverage, entertainment as well as finance.

Every minute, money would flow to her family without her doing anything. Her family asset would grow exponentially without any sign to stop as the years went by and further made her family become the top family in the whole country.

Yun Lihua and her family didn't need to worry about how much the money they spend for the trivial thing like parking or snacks. They even could buy everything with astronomical price like personal yacht or luxurious private plane without batting an eyelid. Their concern was not in the money but rather in how they should spend it.

But it was just a past story

Now, Yun Lihua was just an orphan with no one to rely on. She had no more money nor connection with those from upper circle for a better life as those people only see her status. In the end, someone was kind enough to send her to an orphanage called 'The Sunshine'.

To live her life, she took several part time jobs and worked from morning to dusk although the mother recommended her not to because she was still an underage. Even so, she insisted and the money she got was barely enough to help the mother in the orphanage. Fortunately, some donors her were kind enough that they send food and other necessities to the orphanage at some occasions.

Not even once Yun Lihua ever thought that she would fall to this lowest point. People who used to fawn over her had turned their back. It would not be that painful if it were just them, but the relatives whom her parent treated very well acted as if they didn't know her after her family's falldown.

Indeed, above kinship and relationship, money ruled over everything.

One dollar she once thought insignificant turned to a life saving straw to her. Many trival things in her past life became important things in her current life.

Like one said, you'll never appreciated everything you have unless you lost it.

Though Yun Lihua had never taken anything for granted before, a sense of loss still lingered within her. It was like a part of herself was taken away from her.

Despite everything she experienced, there was one thing that she learned. It was a word that most people forgot, a word called 'gratitude'.
