37 The Question

The shooting stops, and we run back to everyone. "They're surrendering!" A guard from our side yells. A group of about 20 people are on there knees with there hands up. "It's over!" Lexa yells to everyone. "We will let them live! They know what will happen if they try anything!" She yells. We all put our supplies in the camp and we clear out the dead bodies. I help Gaia before we start a campfire and have food. The boss of the other people is one of the ones that surrendered. "You're not going to try anything, are you?" I ask her. "No. We're with you now." She says. She winces. "What's wrong?" I ask her. "The baby's kicking." I'm shocked. She was pregnant through all of this. Madi and Lexa walk over to us. "Is it a boy or a girl?" I ask her. "Girl." She smiles. "What's your name?" Madi asks her. "Diyoza." Madi nods, and sits by the fire. "What's the baby's name going to be?" Madi asks her. "I have the perfect name now that this is all over. Hope." She says. We all smile. It is a perfect name. Lexa sits next to me, and says something.

"We did it Clarke. We'll finally have peace. I've been meaning to ask you something." Lexa says nervously. More people gather around by the fire, and my mom, Madi, Raven, Luna, Octavia and Bellamy look at Lexa and I happily. They must know what Lexa is about to say. "Now that this is all over, I think this is the perfect time to ask you this. I love you so much Clarke. You have taught me so much. I'm so happy that we are here right now. I want to be with you for the rest of my life." She says, her cheeks getting redder by the second. She bends down on one knee. I see a wooden ring in her hand. My heart beats incredibly fast. I know what she's about to ask me. "Clarke, will you marry me?"
