Chapter 16: Forbidden Goodbye

When I decided to leave the hospital, I took my way home, to the house where my parents were staying. I honestly don't know what to call that place. Can I call it 'my house' even though I'm not staying there? Can I call it 'their house' even though I'm the one who brought it? It's confusing so it's better to call it that way.

"Mother!" I called as soon as I stepped on the house floor.

I don't know if it's a mannerism to call your mother as soon as you're home or just the typical way that you'll announce it because you know that your mother is always in the house. 

"Vella?" I heard her voice, unsure if it's me.

I took off my shoes before slipping my feet in the household slipper ready on the door. "Yeah. It's me." I confirmed. 

She poked her head out on the kitchen to see me, well confirming if it's really me.
