BLOOD. LOTS, AND LOTS, OF BLOOD

That, was all she saw staring at her hands. Fair and pristine, yet those hands were covered in the blood of over a thousand people

They were clean of course, she had always made sure to wash them, but they could never be completely untainted. The crimson liquid would always be there, endlessly tormenting her time and time again, constantly being the reason for her sleepless nights,

A light November breeze blew, It told her of the cold night that lay ahead, most definitely filled with angst, but she couldn't lay atop there soliloquizing to herself forever, she had a job to do, and she had to get it done.

Raising the hood of her black bodysuit and a mask over her nose, she left only her pair of icy blue eyes. Those eyes had repeatedly been the last things her victims had been opportune to see, so she intended to keep it that way.

With light agile movements, she manoeuvred her way to the balcony of the penthouse suite down below her, and in only a matter of seconds, she let herself in, blending into the darkness, waiting for her prey to approach.

Her prey of course didn't disappoint, only a few minutes went by before the owner of the suite arrived. In his arms were two make-up laden and skimpily dressed women fawning over him. Her victim's name, Mr Wang Chen.

He was an old beer-bellied man with a fetish for having young girls pleasure him despite the fact he was married with grown children, being the manager of a successful construction company where he owned shares, also meant he was most definitely wealthy, but all that didn't matter to her, he would still end up like all her other victims, pale and lifeless.

The lights clicked on in the room, and shocked gasps upon noticing her casually perched on the sofa rang out,

"Hello, Mr Wang" She slowly looked up, as if to savour her time. She dropped the origami lily in her hand onto the table and walked towards him,

The two women took off running very flustered, their lives were more important than some amount of money, they could always earn it another day. She watched them but paid no heed, her business lay with the man, and she would soon be done anyway.

The man had now grown sober as he stared at her, fear etched onto every crevice in his face. "W-Who are you?", He struggled to get his sentence out, and those three words seemed to have taken quite a lot out of him.

He started sweating buckets -a reaction she was no stranger to- as he watched her gaze on him, a very dead look in her eyes. They were cold and piercing but she looked to be seeing nothing. He started eyeing the door, seeing if he could possibly make a run for it, it was almost as if she read his mind, cause exactly then she spoke up,

"I'm afraid that would only delay your death, Mr Wang, not prevent it. I suggest you don't delay the inevitable", as she said the last words, she threw a dagger in the direction of his left eye.

It missed, but only by a hair's breadth. It had connected with the wall behind him, but it hadn't left him unscathed, blood slowly dripped down from the long slit by the side of his face, and the phone he had hidden behind him, intending to call for help, fell to the ground and broke upon impact.

He soon joined his phone, writhing and shaking from lack of oxygen on the floor. His grey carpet soiled crimson as his life oozed out in a bright red river from his mouth, nose and upturned eyes.

The look in her eyes though was one of complete indifference, there was no change in her disposition as she watched as his life force drain out from him, it wasn't new after all, watching people die was more like a daily routine for her. As combing one's hair and brushing one's teeth was normal for an average person, killing people was a norm.

"Oh, and lest I forget Mr Wang. Your wife says goodbye", She walked past him as he finally gave up, and removed her dagger, carefully sheathing it back. She walked over to her lily origami, and carefully picking it up, she lay it on the pool of blood that lay murkily beside him. The lily absorbed blood, slowly turning red and dark as it danced slowly over the shiny liquid.

Then she walked back out the window and disappeared back into the darkness that lay stretched out in front of her.
