There is Nothing to See Except For This Woman

Jin Lan stood guard until Wu Zhang and Song Jia walked out of the room, with Wu Zhang holding her hand firmly. He then walked out after them and swiftly locked the door behind him, so that the men wouldn't follow. 

They had barely walked a few steps out of the servant's quarter when suddenly Fei Yan came out of nowhere to stand in front of them, blocking their path. She looked at Wu Zhang in his eyes and Wu Zhang looked back at her, but with a gaze that had no emotion in it. She didn't look like the wicked woman from a while back anymore. Tears were streaming down her eyes and she just blinked every now and then to clear her misty vision.

"Why?" Fei Yan whispered softly, her voice cracking at the end. "Why did you choose her... and not me?"

Wu Zhang raised an eyebrow and looked at her like she was an idiot. He then wrapped his arm around Song Jia's waist and pulled her closer before speaking, "That is not even a valid enough question to be answered."
