Best friends?

Lunchtime arrived, and I wanted to take my meal and go to a place where there weren't too many people. My head was starting to ache from constantly answering questions from the girls and boys in my class.

As I pondered where to go, I started walking down the corridor. When I reached the stairs, I involuntarily began to climb up. Maybe going to the rooftop would be a good idea. I could have my breakfast peacefully in the quiet, accompanied by the wind and the sun.

Thinking this way, I climbed up to the stairs leading to the rooftop. When I opened the door to the rooftop, there were fewer students here than I had seen in the hallways. A few students were chatting and observing the school garden from behind the iron fences.

I spotted a shaded area on the rooftop and decided to go there, but when I turned the corner, I realized someone had already discovered this spot.

Our eyes met for a few seconds. She had blonde hair, with a small part of it dyed pink, and she continued to gaze at me with large, pale turquoise eyes.

"I didn't know this place was taken. I'm sorry," she started to say as she was about to leave to find another empty spot.

"It's no problem, you can sit here."

"Are you sure it's okay for you?"

"Well, I don't know... Maybe you were waiting for someone?"

"No, definitely not. Please, have a seat."

It was immediately apparent that she was a bit peculiar. Her face seemed familiar, but I couldn't remember from where. She had three pieces of Onigiri in her lunch box. At the same time, I took out my own lunch box. In mine, there was a piece of rolled omelette and a salad. When our eyes met by chance, she seemed almost drooling with hunger.

"Mouuuu~" She took a piece of Onigiri from her lunch box and took a bite. Then, she closed her eyes and started chewing. After finishing the Onigiri, she spoke again with an empty mouth.

"I'm in Class 1-C. My name is Finn."

"Finn, nice name."

Oi oi, what do you plan to do by just learning my name? Why don't you introduce yourself? I started to feel like some veins in my head were about to burst, and they throbbed in sync with my heartbeats.

"Why don't you introduce yourself too?"

"Ah, I'm Rika, and I'm in Class 1-A." She immediately answered as if nothing happened. So, Class A, huh.

Fortunately, as soon as I finished my meal, lunch break was over. Since I didn't have any more reason to chat with this girl, I tidied up and was ready to get back to class. However, Rika was still sitting there, gazing at the sky.

'I wonder why she's not going back to class.' I wanted to ask, but I knew she wouldn't give a proper answer. So, I didn't say anything and went back to class directly.

When I entered the classroom, there was almost less than five minutes left until the next class. So, I prepared my books from my school bag to get ready for the next class. When Sensei entered the classroom, we started the first lesson.

After a somewhat boring lesson, the first day of school was finally coming to an end. Just a few minutes later, the school bells would start ringing. And as I thought, it happened. The large bells of the school began to ring, and everyone started getting ready to go home, packing their bags.

I did the same, and after packing my bag, I was about to leave the classroom. The classroom door swung open vigorously, and when I noticed the person standing at the entrance, I was on the verge of shock.

"Oi, Finn. Let's go together!"

All the kids in the class turned to me, and they all shouted, "HAAAAA" in unison. All I could do was cover my face with my hands on my desk and let out a deep sigh.

At that moment, with my eyes closed, an interesting hologram that had appeared before me earlier reappeared.
