Second Day Part 2

Sora POV

I watch as Kageyama throws the ball up in the air and starts his run. I lean forward a bit. 'His face...and that look...He's more than ready to play.' I think seeing that serious and calm aura around him.

He jumps up and serves the ball over with power, the ball hits the libero's arms but bounces off. Earning them a point, making the points even 17-17.

The game continues with Shoyo hitting another spike landing a point. This exchange of points go back and forth. With quick attacks from both sides as well as the super quick from Shoyo and Kageyama. "Tweet!" I look over seeing that Seijoh called out a time out.

Now that the time out is over the teams continue for a good while. Except during this game it seems that the tall blonde glasses guy #11, is hitting some spikes but rather feinting. The tosses are different too. I smile seeing the difference between the teams and plays.

However the points are coming close to each other, 23-22. with Karasuno in the lead. I chuckle seeing the game play and actions of Karasuno. Set point now.

I look down seeing the new rotation and sigh out. "Looks like he's back serving again." Sean said while crossing his arms and leaning over the edge. "Hmm." I say back and look back at the score board. "It'll be troublesome now to earn a single point." I say.

I look closer at Oikawa to see him entire demeanor change, he tossed the ball up and sent it over the net heading to the corner of the court. The libero of Karasuno dove and sent it back up but it went back up to Seijoh.

The ball got received and sent it back to Oikawa. Faking the set up with #12 Onion head and Oikawa sent it over Iwaizumi but it seems that Kageyama and glasses figured it out and waited to block Iwaizumi.

Scoring a point and taking back the set, moving onto the third set. I smiled and watched Karasuno cheer. "Seems that they'll be a third set then." Sean says while moving back and sitting down. I turn my head and sit back down with him. "So it seems...but the issue is will Seijoh let the third set go?" I say seeing that Oikawa has probably no intention of letting go.

The third set got started and the points between teams started with Seijoh in the lead 10-8. Karasuno's libero dug up a ball and sent it to Kageyama.

But the next thing that happened made me yet again smile at the play. The libero from Seijoh jumped over the attack line and set up the ball to Oikawa so he could spike, since he received it.

"Wow that was pretty cool." Sean said to me and I nodded. "First time seeing that move. I haven't seen it before." I said back.

The game continues on and I see Sho-kun come back out of the warm up zone and head into the court. I smile fondly, 'It's like he's radiating energy off of him. Saying I want to play as soon as I can and score so points.'

As he gets on the court Sho-kun takes a wide left on the front of the court and jumps up. He then slams the ball down. My eyes widen and a huge grin makes its way on my face "A wide broad shot!" I say in excitement. I nudge Sean beside me. "Did ja see that!" I say.

He looks over at me and chuckles. "Ya. You seem more excited than the actual players." he says and I turn to face him. "Well it's Sho-kun and that was amazing! I wanna receive and get on a court too." I say and look back down at the game.

"Yeah yeah. Don't we all." He says teasingly.

"Wow that little guy is awesome." a girl says from a far. I smile at that. "It's volleyball and it's nonstop jumping. It' s like fighting against gravity. Jump to decoy, jump to block, jump to spike. The longer the rally goes the more frantic and uneasy the players become. When you get tired it makes you slack off. I remember in one match I wished that someone else could spike for me." The guy with glasses says and I look over.

I smile and chuckle to Sean. I hear the dude next to him talk. "Yeah there was that one rally that went on forever. It got to the point where I couldn't even care where the ball landed next. I just wanted the ball to fall."

I looked back on the court hearing Sho-kun yell "Bring it to me!!"

I smile and glance at the middle aged guys. "Yes, volleyball is all about jumping ad keeping the ball in play. And for those who can't keep the ball up in play without touching the floor is the loser. But when it comes to rallies, rallies like these. When you're on the court, not just do you get uneasy and frantic. You get a rush of adrenaline and excitement in some cases. Wanting the ball to fall on the other side, for your team to win." I say softly.

Sean listens to me and smiles fondly while looking down at the match as well. "Indeed. You sure have a way with words Sora. Rallies and volleyball, not wanting the ball to fall in these cases make those who want the rally to continue and make the ball fall on the opposite side makes the difference between players. Wanting to continue on, wanting to play more. It's volleyball" Sean says to me.

I nod my head, "I couldn't agree more." Just as I said that Karasuno put in a pipe. I looked at the score board seeing them tie and all for a break.

After the quick break that got back in the game, leading up Shoyo doing a broad attack but leaving Shoyo unmarked. "He's unmarked!" the two guys said.

'Not exactly.' I think seeing the Libero right in the path of the ball. He picks up the ball and sends it over to Oikawa. The setter jumps up reading for a set but rather pulls a setter dump.

I lean my arm against my leg and lean forward. Another rally starts, this time it's longer with Hinata spiking the ball. However, was blocked by a three man block. A three point difference with Seijoh in the lead, as well as them taking the flow of the game.

"Tweet!" I sigh seeing Karasuno use their second time out. 'Cutting the flow.' I think to myself and lean back in my chair.

"Hey man you seeing this?!" the middled aged man with blonde hair says and I look back down at the game. My eyes widen seeing #12 switching out with Shoyo. 'I believe his name was Yamaguchi.' I think as I pull out the paper with the teams and names. "A first year?" I say and look down seeing him look shy and quiver.

I sweatdrop. "Oh dear...." I say and hope for the best. I see him step into the court and his teammates try to calm him down. Once the pinch server has the ball, the rest of him teammates in the warm up zone made a weird stance and cheered him on. I chuckled at the sight.

As he was bouncing the ball, it hit his foot and rolled away. I sweatdropped. "Oh I feel bad...." I say watching him and seeing how nervous he is.

I see him jump and push the ball. "A jump float?" Sean says next to me and I watch the ball hit the net. My shoulders slack down. "Man that hurts." Sean says right after wincing at the sight.

I look back down and smirk. "But I guess even so. That serve still managed to do something. Their mood seemed to change." I say seeing the difference of their attitude.

"Wow I feel sorry for him. They kicked him out right after he messed up." a girl said. The guy with the glasses spoke up "that's the point of using a pinch server. That point was huge not just for the point but the whole team's pride riding on it. However, Tadashi messed that up but this is also a chance for him to build up his own frustration and make him stronger."

I smirk at his choice of words. 'He's not wrong. Such things like that can make a player crave for strength and power to match up against others.' I say to myself.

I scan over the court to see that the mood is going good for Karasuno, seeing Tanaka hyped up. But the point gap, Karasuno will need a point break and catch up. The points and attacks are exchanged earning points for both teams.

Making the score be 23-21, with Seijoh still in the lead. More attacks and receives happen, earning another point for Seijoh, Match point.

Karasuno was able to make one more point, but as Tanaka serves the ball, they receive it making a quick attack.

The attack was received but it started going back over the net. I stood up and quickly went to the edge to get a closer look. My eyes widen as I see #9 Kageyama jump up and make a one handed set. Allowing Shoyo to jump and spike the ball down with no one able to get it.

I smiled happily as Karasuno cheered. 'They made the point break, having a quick rest in between.

I run my hand through my hair and look down at both players from Aoba Johsai and Karasuno. The teams soon get back on the court having Tanaka serve the ball.

As the ball goes back over to Karasuno I watch as Shoyo does a broad attack as it's received. He runs back around and jumps up for a block and scurries back to make another attack.

Though as Shoyo jumped it wasn't as high as he usually does and I squint seeing that he used his finger tips to push the ball over, making the ball hit the floor. My eyes sparkled with excitement. 'Wow Shoyo you really got way better!'

"That point got Karasuno to 25-24. They need one more point before they win the game." Sean says to me as he walked up next to me. I nod my head and watched as Karasuno celebrated a bit.

I sigh as I saw that Seijoh came back and earned another point. It's now Seijoh's turn for their serve. I look over to see Oikawa coming out to serve. He readies himself and serves the ball. I watch as the ball wizes passed the Libero's face. "Out!"

But that one point ahead didn't last long as Iwaizumi came and earned the point back making the score even again.

This on going exchange of points, receives, spikes, blocks, sets, dives repeated itself over and over. Each time one team gaining a point. Till both teams were finally passed thirty points. 31-31.

The teams did a full rotation with Oikawa serving yet again. I watch as he puts more power and force into the ball causing it to go off of the receivers arms and back to Seijoh.

I watch as they use #13 to spike making the ball hit back over to their side once again and Oikawa yet again uses #13 but this time he does a feint. Earning another point for Seijoh putting them at set point again.

They get back in the game with Oikawa doing another serve but this time it's a light serve that fell up in the front. The captain, Daichi was able to receive it and has Kageyama save it sending it to Asahi, #3.

The ball is sent back and forth a couple times. I watch as Shoyo runs up to the front and Kageyama go back behind the attack line. He sets up and sends it to Shoyo.

However at that moment a three man block shut out that spike. Having three members dive to the ground but failed to reach the ball.

I clenched onto the railing and looked down. "Tweet!!" the referee goes signaling the end of the set and points towards Seijoh.

"Seijoh won...." I say softly looking sadly down at Karasuno. Looking straight at Shoyo seeing his face show anger, sadness, loss. While Aoba Johsai cheered in victory.

I felt Sean out a hand on my shoulder and I look up to see him looking out on the courts. "It's fine. Your childhood friend is strong. They'll get through this." he reassures me. I nod my head and clench my fists tighter. "Yeah!" I say and watch them wrap it up.

The two teams lined up and bowed, giving thanks to the game. The teams switched sides to their home side and lined up.

The whole team bowed "Thank you for coming!" the captain went and they thanked us and the two older men. Along with the three fangirls of Oikawa. Sean and I clapped our hands along with many others that watched. They turned and left the courts.

I turned towards Sean. "That was depressing...Though I' still worried about Sho-kun but he'll be fine since he has his team." I say and sigh shortly after. "Yeah the dude will be just fine." Sean said and put his hands behind his head. "Well do you want to get some fresh air before they start the quarter finals?" he asks me.

I nod my head and we turn to leave the stands.

As we went outside we waited their for a bit and relaxed. "It was stuffy in there." Sean said and I sighed and ran my hand through my hair. "Yeah definitely."

As a couple for minutes passed by around the corner we heard yelling and peaked out. We saw Hinata yelling and grabbing Kageyama by his shirt, I stayed back and watched as this happened and turned to see a man who was down in the bench walk over to them.

He gave them a little talk about being weak and how losing wasn't bad. I smiled at this and turned towards Sean. "I told you that he'll be fine." he said and I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, he's got the right people and teammates to be with." I say and start walking back inside.

I glance at Sean as he walked beside me. "Let's go watch the rest of it." He put his hands behind his head and walked beside me.

__________

As the games went on, I decided to leave the stadium for a bit and get some more fresh air and breath. I looked down at my phone and thought of Shoyo. I sighed and ruffled my hair. "Even though I told myself that you'll be fine and I know you are....I just can't leave it at that can I?" I say to myself as I open my phone and hit the contact Shoyo.

I open a message and write one.

3rd POV

Just as Karasuno was finishing up eating their meal, Hinata's phone buzzed and flashed in his in his bag.

Setting his food down and as his teammates finished eating and drank water, he turned around to grab his bag and dig out his phone.

As he opened up his phone he saw a message from Sora. Hinata's eyes widened and his hands shook albeit earning the attention of some members around him.

Shoyo opened the message up and read it. His hands began to tremble even more and more tears and snot, more than before started pouring out drawing in the attention of his senpai, Ennoshita.

"H-hey! Hinata are you alright?!" he asked concerned as the rest of his teammates looked over to see their first year clenching onto his phone with lots of tears and snot coming out like waterfalls. They just kept running down and he started to hiccup.

Hinata reread the message over again and nodded his head at the message. Ennoshita dug around and gave Hinata a napkin to wipe his tears and blow his nose.

"Looks like shrimpy is a cry baby~" Tsukishima teased as the mom of the team Sugawara got up and went over to the first year sending a glare to Tsukishima.

Sugawara handed Hinata more napkins and tissues. "It's okay Hinata. We're all upset about today so don't cry anymore." he patted his back and looked down at the screen of Hinata's phone. Glancing at the name 'Sora' and a small part of the message before Hinata looked towards Sugawara.

"Hmm! Suga-san, I'm upset about the game too but! My friend just messaged me and got me all emotional!! She! She believes in me! I'll become stronger than ever!!" The setter sweatdropped along with the rest of team at the sudden outburst and energy of the first year. Sugawara tilted his head and gave a confused look before getting up and returning to his seat.

At the word 'she' this perked up Tanaka's and Nishinoya's ears. They twitched and set down their bowls. "SHE?!!" They yelled and leaned forward across the table. "OI! Hinata?! You didn't tell us that you had a girlfriend?!" they yelled and all the boys snapped their heads at Hinata as he grew flustered.

Tsukishima ignored it and snickered. "That small and idiot small fry, wouldn't even have a girlfriend, he's to caught up in volleyball." he remarks. As Yamaguchi snickers as well.

The whole atmosphere and vibe of the room cleared of sadness and changed to a lighter one. Coach Ukai and sensei Takeda smiled at this. "I'm glad that they returned somewhat to normal and in a lighter attitude. I thank whoever sent that text and lightened the mood up." he says while Takeda nods his head in agreement.

Hinata wips his hands and arms around in front of me with a red face. "No! NO! I don't have a girlfriend!! The person who sent me the message is a really good friend of mine!" Hinata defends as he tucks his phone away.

Tanaka and Noya raise their brows, "That's what they all say! A really good friend with a girl pratically could eventually be girlfriend and boyfriend!! Or you just hiding it!" they yelled again as some of the team laughed and told them to calm down.

While Hinata just got more red and smoke started coming out of his ears. "She's my childhood friend though!! Plus we haven't seen each other in years...." he sad sadly and the both of them calmed down seeing the sadness on his face.

But then Hinata looked back up. "But I promised to become stronger and become the little giant in the making once she comes back!" he yells with a determined face. The two boys shouted a bit "That's what I'm talking about!!"

"Be quiet!!" Daichi yelled at the two.
