The Orphanage's Secret

Kaiz Follen Quarte's POV

I came from the orphanage with the other kids who no longer has parents.

Everyone might think this place is sacred and safe.

But.

"Kai help me!" Serra cried.

"Leave her alone!" I exclaimed in anger.

The orphanage has a hidden basement where other nobles are attending every Friday.

Its more like a Prostitution area for Greedy Nobles.

They are taking girls from the orphanage and sell them off.

After seeing that bastard raping my sister to death I don't have the power to protect her nor myself.

"I wanted to kill them all." I thought.

"Kai."

I was awaken by the man who saved me earlier.

"Hatred will be your strength and death would be satisfactory. You can kill all you want I won't stop you its your life so do what you want." He said and left.

Those words he left are threatening and tempting but at the same time its a consequence warning.

My strength was indeed hatred from those people who are beast for their own good. But, if I continued to kill for my satisfactory it will just satisfy my mind but my conscience will hunt me forever.

I was left dumbfounded as I watch the man who just left.

Why is he telling some kind words that misunderstood as threats?

Its like a kind advice in a harsh way if you won't think about it clearly you'll misunderstood every word he meant.

I felt the thorn was taken out from my chest.

One thing is for sure my master is different from others it was an honor to be on his side. I stood up and washed myself as I opened my closet and some new clothes were inside.

"This is too much for a commoner like me." I mumbled.

"Its not, the young master choose everything inside your closet. He might be harsh and frightening but he does have this kind of unbelievable side." The man named Sir Arden said.

He was the man beside my master, his one and only advisor Sir Arden.

"He does." I answered shortly.

Its just a week since I've been here and I witness how frightening my master's attitude was.

"What kind of tea is this are you poisoning me?!" He exclaimed in anger and poured the hot tea into the the maid's hand.

"Please take this maid away from young master Friesse." Sir Arden Commanded the other knights.

"Arden some of the finance reports are lacking who is currently at your post right now?" He asked.

"The duke have assigned another person on my spot Sire but I'll check it if you'll allow me to." Sir Arden answered.

"Take this report and let him eat this its a bunch of trash. Kai ask the kitchen that we are going to eat watch their movements." He said and signed us to leave.

I walked into the kitchen and heard some voices of the servants.

"The duke's adopted son is too much! He's a real demon he fired merciless servants with single flaws." the servant said.

"To think he's just a commoner! How could he demand us and treat the duke like his own servant!" The other servant added.

"You guys are exaggerating he was just doing what he think is right so stop babbling nonsense and continue your work." The other one said.

"The duke's adopted son might be a complete psycho-"

Before they could continue I opened the door and take out my sword.

"You dare to offend my master are you asking for death?" I glared at them.

"N-no sir we didn't-"

"Nonsense! All of you are fired exept for you." I pointed the one who defended my master.

"How could you fire u-"

I slashed the servants hand making him scream in pain.

I took out my handkerchief and wiped my sword from the blood I called out for the knights.

"Guards, take them to the dungeon." I commanded.

The chef became pale seeing what happened but continued to do his job.

"Master wanted to have meat for lunch please prepare some." I said and walk out.

I got back to my master and told him about the incident earlier.

"You did well Kai I'll ask father to let you train from the knights it seems like you have a talent in swordsmanship. Regarding about that chef I find something suspicious about him try to ask Arden about it." He said while walking into the dining area.

"Yes Sire." I answered.

"Have a seat Kai." He said.

My master is very different from any nobles I've met, if its someone like me I don't have the right to dine with him. But he always asks me and Arden to eat with him.

He's just very lonely.

"How is my brother Angelina?" He asked the maid beside him.

"Young master Gelus is already recovering but he barely touches his food Sire." Angelina answered.

She was appointed by master Friesse to take care of his younger brother Gelus.

I haven't seen his brother yet he must be like him.

"Take Gelus in here we are eating together." He said.

The assistant chef arrived with the other servants and started to place the food in the table.

"Are you the Chef?" Master Friesse asked.

"Y-yes Sire I'm Loin Volt Delle." He answered looking surprise.

"Stay for a moment Loin." He said.

Angelina arrived pushing a wheelchair?

I saw a young man sitting in the wheel chair who has similar face with the young master. His eyes are blue unlike master Friesse who has red eye color.

"I heard you aren't eating do you want me to starve you to death?" Master Friesse answered.

Arden was just sitting silently beside me while drinking tea.

When did he arrived here? I didn't notice his presence of arrival.

"You should get used to it." He mumbled and smiled.

Master's brother shake his head as response.

"Is that a proper way to response Gelus? You look like a stupid kid shaking your head." Master Fries said in a cold voice.

Young master Gelus tried to open his mouth but no words came out.

"Let's eat Angelina take a seat. Send my father some food that old man will be giving me another trouble with his stubbornness." He said to the other servant.

He call his father as an old man yet he cared for his health.

As days passed by, my master's attitude is confusing me.

He started slicing the meat and handed it to his younger brother.

Some where surprise on how he acted but he didn't utter any words.

As he swallow the meat he immediately spit it, his face suddenly darkened while wiping his mouth.

Arden suddenly spoke.

"Take all the meat we have and from now on the food to be prepared should be vegetables."

The only people left was Sir Loin and us.

Master only drank tea and stared at his younger brother who was eating happily.

"Kai we'll be going at the orphanage after this." He said which made me drop my fork.

Friesse La Verdi's POV

When we are finally done eating breakfast I decided to bring Gelus with me.

"Why are you bringing Gelus hallita?" Arden asked looking surprise.

"Gelus needs to see the real world Arden I bet my brother would also love to come with me right Gelus?" I said.

My naive brother nodded.

"Master are you going to use your eye cover again?" The Kai asked.

"Aren't you going to see anything while covering your eyes?" Arden asked.

"I still can Arden." I replied.

We take the carriage into the Saint Jude's Orphanage.

The place where Kai once stayed in I got the informations from Arden about him.

"Master I don't think that orphanage will be good to visit." Kai blurted.

"Are you scared Kai?" I asked.

"No." He said in a hard tone.

My naive brother was sleeping quietly on my shoulder.

Why does this kid is so kind and weak he'll definitely regret choosing that kind of path.

"Friesse what are you planning to do." Arden asked in a serious voice.

I just gave them a smile and didn't replied.

When we arrived the missionary immediately approached us with the kids on the side.

"My what's this the face of being hopeless." I blurted while looking at the children.

"Greetings Sir La Verdi, the orphanage are glad to have someone like you to visit in our small place." The missionary said while catching a glimpse at my younger brother.

I notice Kai's strong presence but I signed him to stop.

"Are you somewhat interested with this child?" I asked pointing at Gelus.

"That child is indeed gorgeous and has a very delicate skin." He said while looking at Gelus.

"Your eyes are very keen regarding about beauty I do hope I also have those kind of eyes. Its a shame that I'm blind I can't see anything at all." I lied.

"Let me guide you into my office Sire." The missionary said and walk ahead.

"Don't let your guard down." I whispered.

As we got in the office Arden acted to explain everything around.

"I heard that this is not just an ordinary orphanage Sir Clark." I blurted making him startled.

"I was also surprise to know that the Duke has a son." He said directly.

He must have look for my information how sly.

"Then will this make you believe?" I said showing the family crest.

I saw his eyes widened but immediately compose himself.

"What do you want Sire?" He asked.

"You must have mistaken, what do you want Sir Clark?" I asked.

I saw him looking at Gelus in lustful eyes.

"Disgusting." I blurted out loud.

"W-what?" He asked glaring at me.

"I meant him I don't need him anymore I need something else." I said.

I saw him looking relief and spoke.

"I can offer you differently Sire." He said.

"Lead the way Sir Clark." I said and smiled.

I notice Arden shook his head as he knows what I meant.

A hidden door suddenly opened in the Missionary's office.

As we go downstairs I smelled a foul dead scent.

"Forgive me for the foul smell someone just died here but the servants are cleaning it already." He answered.

When we arrive the room was filled with equipments and a single chair.

"This is the playroom Sire the next room would be-"

Kai immediately hit him in the head making him unconscious.

I removed the cover in my eye and covered Gelus eyes with my handkerchief before walking towards the other room.

"Tie that pest in that chair." I said.

As I opened the door I take out my blade and attacked the two guards.

Some children were trembling inside the cage filled with scars in their body.

The kids pointed into something at the barrel.

My blood boiled when one of the kids was still breathing yet treated like a trash at the bunch of corpses.

"That bastard." I blurted.

I walk back at the other room while Angelina finally opened the cage.

Kai didn't stop beating the missionary together with the priest who arrived.

"Kai I think these people need some cleansing in their souls." I said forming a smirk in my lips.

Kai understood what I meant and look for the gas and poured it to them.

I gave him the match and spoke.

"Kai you did well." I said and signed the others to get back.

I could hear the beautiful screams of pain from those burning flesh downstairs.

I can't help myself but laughed in enjoyment.

"Do you hear that Gelus? Your brother created that beautiful music." I said and saw him smile.

"My, I didn't expect that." I thought while looking at Gelus.

When we got out I saw the Black Hawk's Knights outside while Sir Devon De Mokreus was in front of me.

"Are you the one who called me." He said in a serious voice.

"We will leave the rest for you." Arden answered instead of me.

I gave him a slight grin as I walk away.

Devon De Mokreus POV

That guy why do I feel inferior with his presence.

A young man came out holding a blooded stuff toy in his hands.

"I finally avenge their deaths." He said as he passed by me.

"Who is that person?" I asked out of mind.

"He's a demon." He smiled and walked away.

After that day I found out that the orphanage was running an illegal business with the nobles.

The heads must be the burned corpses in the basement where I found the torture materials and dead bodies of children.

Because of those guys I manage to save the other children who were brutally tortured and even got my title as the highest rank of knights.

I've been thinking about it lately I got this feeling that I was dragged by a trap.

"But I don't have a choice I need to know." I blurted and decided to look for that man.

Before I got out Cale came and spoke.

"The Duke would be having a party to announce his two sons. You need to attend in that said event some Aristocrat's will be there."

I guess I don't have a choice but to attend the said party I might have a chance to see him again.

"What is it Cale?" I said when I noticed him looking troubled.

"I heard a lot of rumours from the La Verdi's they said the Duke's sons are Demons." He said.

"A demon?" I said unbelievably.

"The eldest was known for his demonic attitude and brutality towards anyone. It might be best if you stay away from him." Cale warned.

Hearing the word demon reminded me those grin.

"It must be him." I said with amusement.

The party was filled with famous nobles and I also saw some of the royalties except for the 2nd prince.

"Thank you everyone for attending my sons party I would be happy to announce the heir of La Verdi's Clan. My eldest Friesse La Verdi." The duke said but no one appeared in the center.

Some started to gossip around seeing that the eldest haven't appeared.

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience it seems like my son is not yet ready. My second son is too precious to me I do hope you'll respect and guide him in the future Angelus La Verdi." He said.

An angelic faced appeared who is currently on a wheel chair pushed by a servant made the guest gasped.

"The duke's son is a disable?"

"How pitiful."

Before I knew it the person I've been waiting to appear came and covered his brother's ears.

"What's that? A dog? Father I told you that pets are not allowed inside. Why do I hear someone barking at my dear brother." He said giving a smile.

I felt a sudden threat on what he said even the crown prince dropped his glass.

"That tone." Someone blurted.

Yes, that tone has a lot of authority making everyone fear with his intimidating presence.

His smile isn't something you would be glad to see.

"What's with the silent? Allow me to introduce myself again, I'm Friesse La Verdi the heir of La Verdi's. I'm glad to see everyone was enjoying the party I do hope I won't be able to hear another offense about my beloved brother." He said filled with sarcasm and pushed his brother away.

"He's blind yet his scary." The other gentleman said.

Blind?

I look at him and before I realized he was wearing something in his eyes.

Indeed...
