Chapter 7: A Story From a Past of Darkness

"You..?"Vinci couldn't believe Lorelei. "You do not deserve death's sweet release."Her tone was laced with poisonous disgust, she struggled to keep herself calm.

"Please, milday."Lorelei kept her head head.

Vinci had lost it when she heard that word. Quickly she had disappeared, she reached forward, grabbing Lorelei by her silky icy blonde hair. She yanked violently, wrapping her arm around her neck, she locked her in a chokehold. Lorelei had so much trust in Vinci, she hadn't reacted as she would have, had it been someone else.

Vinci began pulling back, choking Lorelei.

Lorelei didn't try and stop Vinci, she just let it happen. Vinci removed her arms from Lorelei's neck. Lorelei had fallen backwards, her tall frame thudding to the ground.

"Take me to Next Earth."She said evenly, but her voice was tinged with an undeniable authority.

"Vinci..."Lorelei's bright orange eyes began to water.

Vinci shot a the icy blonde a cold glare.

"Vinci..please..."Lorelei's eyes were filled with such deep sorrow and guilt.

"Don't...Take me to Next Earth, I will kill you, and make sure you don't regenerate. Ever."Vinci's hatred bleeding through every word.

Lorelei's eyes glazed over with tears.

"Ōlūā. Ēlēsā cōlara iūn wāy" She had raised her right hand, spreading her fingers, as light blue foreign words hovered in a circle around her wrist. Spreading outward, they shimmered bursting into a portal.

Vinci disregarded Lorelei, walking toward the portal. Immediately, the light blue portal became pure white, jet black swirls changing each other at the center.

"Vinci."she said quietly. "I know it must feel her energy.."Lorelei thought.

Vinci's red tinted brown eyes gazed into the portal as it swirled, radiating  a warm, yet chaotic aura. She reached out her hand, which was covered in dirt, blood, sweat and tears. As her hand neared the portal, reaching to push her hand through. It denied her entry. Suddenly the portal turned jet black, swirls of pure white chasing each other in the center. Now giving off an icy, yet peaceful aura.

Shivering, Vinci's voice cracked, "Why can't I enter?"She longingly gazed at the portal.

Vinci's left eye began to spill blood, her right spilling salty tears. The shimmering passage, reacting to this, began to swirl, white and black collecting respectively with their colors. Finally forming the You and Yang. Slowly swirling in front of her.

Lorelei struggled to her feet. "I-"She stopped, realizing Vinci was gone and the portal vanished.

Lorelei looked to the ground, "I hope you one day forgive me.."she said quietly. Tears streaming down her fair cheeks, a small regretful smile now on her lips as she remembered a bittersweet moment from long ago.

"Really?" A small and innocent Lorelei stared up at Vinci, a huge smile on her face.

"Really, Lorelei."Vinci smiled down at the young girl. "One day you will find your knight in shining armor. Or maybe he will find you."

Lorelei began to blush bright pink, but began to frown. "Aren't you my knight?"

"No Lorelei. You must be in love with him." Vinci emphasized him, she didn't mind the same sex relationships, but Lorelei had to carry on her family tree.

"But I don't want a him."she pouted. "I want you."her eyes began to water.

Vinci sighed. "It cannot be. You couldn't understand. I'm destined to be alone."Vinci's expression grim.

When she noticed Lorelei's sad expression, she smiled gently, pushing Lorelei's bangs up, holding them on her head, kissing her forehead. "Your prince will come some day. And you will realize what you think you felt about me, wasn't real."Vinci smiled, as she let the icy blonde bangs fall back into place.

Vinci hated having to say these things, but it was true, she could never be with anyone. She had sentenced herself to an eternity of isolation. She would never let herself get attached. Not ever again.

Lorelei's little hand cupped Vinci's cheek, "I love you Vinci."she smiled.

"You cannot love me as you say you do. You must vow, you will leave me to become a thing of the past when I leave."Vinci's eyes staring into Lorelei's bright eyes, "A day will come when you forget me, you will love me no longer."Vinci's armored hands wrapped around the littler girl's.

"But I do love you. I promise. I love you. Forever and ever."Lorelei's cheeks blushed.

"We shall never meet again then."Vinci dropped the girl's hands, standing up, she looked at Lorelei who still sat on the floor. Turning around to face the door.

"No wait!"Lorelei cried out reaching for Vinci's leg. But she was to late. Vinci had glitched out.

In that moment, from then on, she vowed she would forever love Vinci, she would find a way to see her Queen in shining armor..One day.. And if death separated them, she would always find a way to get back to her.

That innocent sweet little girl had fallen for something otherworldly. She had her heart.

Once upon a time, there was a sweet little girl. The sweet little child had fallen for something very dangerous. The dangerous creature never to return those feelings, the young girl never gave up. Vowing to one day to receive the love she so desperately and patienced waited for....

"I will always find a way to get back to you.."Lorelei said quietly.
