My first enemy?

Tatiana

"Because I noticed that you and Mr. Knight didn't say anything after the test and looked quite troubled. I really want to stay here together with you guys.", she said and the tears that were building up in her eyes finally fell. I felt so sorry for her but we honestly don't know what the result was. I'll just give her something to hold on to for now.

"Well, you didn't actually fail. There were enough lights that could tell that you can improve your ability in the Talent section.", I told her. I didn't know what to say more, the talent section was the only one I can think of that might fit her.

"Really? It sounded like I was one of the average students that actually failed and the school is just giving me another chance to excel in something.", she said and sobbed even more.

"You're quite observant, well, yes, it might be the case, but if you can really prove that you can do better in whatever talent you chose, then you can stay here in the academy. This school made this rule in order for late bloomers to discover their hidden abilities. Not all students who came here knows about their abilities, some are still working hard to figure out if they have it or not", I explained.

"Really? Then I can stay here long enough until we graduate if I can do that?", she asked with hope in her eyes.

"Yes, for sure, but you have to keep on improving. If you land a plateau state, then the school will let you go.", I said, feeling like I needed to warn her about it.

*sniff*

"Right! Then I'll do my best then!", She said with her game face on. She looked like a child trying to be brave. She wiped her tears and repeatedly sniffed.

"Yes, and we will help you all the way", I said and she smiled trying to hold back her tears then she hugged me.

"Thank you so much!", she said.

"You're always welcome", I hugged her back and my nerves suddenly calmed down. I almost forgot how it feels like to be hugged like this.

Misha's POV

"Uuugh", I grumbled as I slowly sat up and held my head because of the pain I felt.

"Be careful, don't stand up just yet, you'll fall to the ground if you do", a person on the table wearing a white coat over her uniform warned me. She was wearing glasses with big round lenses and her blue hair was tied up to a messy bun. I couldn't see her face that clearly, because she was facing sideways, and was busy encoding something to the computer.

"Uhmmmm. Where", I wanted to ask about my whereabouts but she already cut me off.

"Let me guess, you are asking where you are, so that means this would be your first time in the infirmary, and you would like to know what happened as a follow up question", she said without even looking at me.

'Wow! How did she know?', I thought to myself. She finally looked at me, maybe because I was not responding. She looked fine, like your typical nerd in school.

"Based from your nonresponsive state, you're now thinking, how the hell did I know that", she scoffed and went back to typing something short on the computer and pressed save.

"Well, you already know what I was thinking, so may I get an answer for my supposed follow-up question?", I asked and dangled my feet before standing up. I suddenly felt dizzy and ended up leaning onto someone. That person assisted me to sit and lay back on stacks of soft, and fluffy pillows.

"I told you to be careful!", she scolded. She's a little bit shorter and slimmer than me but she handled my weight well, but there was something bothering me.

"Thank you for helping me out. Uhmmm, if you don't mind me asking, how did you get from your chair in the corner of the room towards me in a split second?", I asked.

"Duh!! Superhuman speed! You don't have any background about different powers do you?", she rolled her eyes and sat on the chair near the bed with crossed legs. She got her mobile phone out and started scrolling on it. I raised my left brow thinking that for a nerd, she has attitude. Maybe I'm the only one thinking that she's a nerd.

"Don't judge a book by its cover indeed", I whispered to myself. She snapped at me with creased brows.

"What did you say?", she asked and stood up.

"Nothing! I was just talking to myself!", I said and raised my hands to protect myself and coiled a little bit to the other side of the bed.

"Ms. Millie! Are you scaring our patients again?", a grown man's voice was heard near the door as it opened. A good looking man, which seemed to be around his early 30s, was walking in, wearing a white coat and a gold-colored stethoscope was kept inside one of his pockets. He has a clean cut hair and dimples.

"No I wasn't! She was the one who's picking up a fight with me", she accused. I looked at her with wide eyes.

"From the way she looked at you, it seems like there was a misunderstanding between the two of you", he said and sighed.

"Hmmmmp! Fine, but you're already on my list", she said and stormed out.

"What list? I didn't even do anything to her!", I said.

"Relax, the list doesn't even exist. She's just being too sensitive with things. I've been telling her to keep it low, because a healthcare worker should always extend a healing hand and promote well being to our patients.", he said to lessen the tension in the atmosphere. I just nodded and got out of bed.

"How are you doing? Do you feel dizzy?" He asked.

"Not anymore, thanks for helping me earlier doctor Uhmmmm...." I said not knowing what his name was.

"It's Dr. Adam, it was nice meeting you Ms. Misha, you don't need to thank me, you should thank Ms. Millie. She was the one who did most of the job." He informed.

"Right. I have actually thanked her earlier before she got mad at me. By the way, what happened? I thought I needed some rehabilitation on my wounds and such, but I can't even see any marks of the burnt area on my hands, like nothing really happened." I expressed my curiosity to get it out of my head.

"Well, to keep it short, the tube that you were kept in earlier has a very advanced technology that could fasten the healing of an individual. The only thing that the machine can't do is mental healing. It can cure your physical injuries in no time, but only a psychiatrist can help you overcome trauma and other mental illness. We have a clinic here specializing in psychiatry. If you need a help from them, don't hesitate to visit their clinic across the hallway.", he explained and smiled showing off his dimples. With that captivating smile of his, many women will woo over him.

"Sure, but hopefully there wouldn't be a day that I may need to go there. By the way Dr. Adam, who made those healing tubes, or shall we say, invented?", I asked.

"You're looking at him", he said and gave me his dazzling smile again.

"Woah! Handsome, aaand a genius!", I said without thinking.

"Hahaha! Thank you! I wouldn't have finished my research without the help of the university though. So kudos to them too", he said and showed me the pictures on the wall with him holding a certificate and an award he got from the Principal and other people that I think are most probably VIPs.

"Congratulations Dr. Adam!", he nodded and went to get a card from the table.

"Thank you. That was already years ago though. Anyway, here's your card, which you need to keep with you all the time, because all your medical records will be recorded there. We don't have any access of other people's medical information if we don't have your card, it's all to keep the information confidential. You don't know what other people might do with those valuable information", he handed me my Medical record card and sat down again.

"If you happen to lose it, we have a back up information which will need to be opened by the Principal himself or other authorized individuals", he said.

"Alright, then I will come to you if that happens then", I said and smiled.

"Unfortunately, I am not authorized as well. Only those chosen few have an access to the system which would be from the board of directors", he said.

"Oh! So I should really be careful with it then", I said and gave an awkward smile.

"Yes, you should. You can go back to your area now. Take care!", he said and waved goodbye while smiling. I smiled and waved back, then opened the door to get out. I can already see the Mental health clinic upon opening the door.

"Hmmm. Where shall I go from here?", I asked myself and looked around rather than asking other people for directions. I saw more people walking towards the right side of the building so I better go where it's crowded, then I'll start searching for people I know in there.

As I was getting nearer the open space with a lot of people walking pass each other and conversing with some, I saw a very familiar figure from behind hugging someone. I waited for a while to get her attention but they were still hugging. I couldn't wait anymore, so I tapped that person's shoulder.

Tatiana's POV

I felt someone tapping my shoulder and when I saw her face, I was shocked and felt like I was caught red handed, even though I didn't do anything wrong, but still.

"It's not what it looks like!", I said in haste.
