18 CHAPTER 18
CEDRIAN POV
We are finally at home and I put my pictures in a corner in preparation for tomorrow. I am actually impressed with myself. I can not wait to see the frozen face of that Serpent when she looks at these pictures.
Thinking about it critically I think she has a crush on me, yes that would explain her inability to say a single word this afternoon. I looked at it from a mental patient point of view, maybe she was salivating all over me from the inside.
“Ced! come down stairs, Vincent is here?” uncle Philipe shouts out and snaps me out of my thoughts.
What?? Why is this man here, I was with him the entire day and now he has shown up here?? I am starting to hate this guy now, he is everywhere. I complain to myself.
I try to come up with an excuse so that I avoid Vincent but I come up empty handed, this is really irritating now, I'm forced to go downstairs and meet the so called Vincent.
“Hello Cedrian, how are you feeling?”
“hello Vincent we are really going to spend the entire day together ain't we?” I ask with a pissed face.
“Cedito watch your mouth!” uncle Philipe blusts at me.
“No uncle Philipe I'm now acquainted with Cedrian's nice personality, he is such a welcoming vibrant young man,” Vincent mocks with a fake smile.
I ignore him for the sake of humanity, “Vincent since this is America i'm I allowed to call you Vincent outside work???”
“Cedito
“Of course,” Vincent interrupts uncle Philipe, “you can call me by my first name if you wish,”
I chuckle, “Then what brings you here?”
Before they could both reply, the door opens and Leisha walks in with an ugly man.
From nowhere, uncle Philipe gives me a warning look.
“Hey sweetheart, you should have informed us that you were bringing Mike by,” uncle Philipe states while giving the pair a hug.
“ Mike really wanted to meet Cedi.” she replies.
Just great what's with these American males lining up to meet me, Both uncle Philipe and cousin Vincent are really trying to give me the “behave yourself look,” in fact it's like they are begging me.
“Cedi meet my fiance Mike,” Leisha says smiling.
Like a gentleman I Walk over to the so called Mike, and introduce myself in a polite way.
“Nice to finally meet you Ced.”
“Have got an announcement,” Leisha raises her voice, “I'm taking everyone out for dinner to our favorite restaurant, everyone is invited no excuses,” she says while eying me.
“That's great uncle replies, “Go and get ready Cedito,"
“I'm actually not feeling very well uncle Philipe,”
“No Cedito, no excuses, for God's sake we've got visitors, do not disappoint Mike, he really wants to know you,”
“Fine I say, let me go change my shirt, I head upstairs and change and we head off to the restaurant, i'm surprised that cousin Vincent has tagged along, this man has no shame. Is he not supposed to be spending time with his wife or girlfriend?
We arrive at this huge expensive looking restaurant and i'm amazed that Leisha can afford dining at such a restaurant while she allows me to be cleaning for a living. I'm going to order the most expensive meal just to annoy her.
We are guided to the seats in a far corner by the waiter and we follow him, I'm not looking at the people dining as my gaze is focused at the man leading us, somehow I trip on a foot and fall face flat on the restaurant floor and hit my back hard. I'm just lucky that the floor is not concrete other wise, I would be nursing a broken back.
“I'm so sorry,” a lady's voice says out. “this was intentional Leisha shouts out, cousin Vincent hands out his hand and I grab on it.
“Are you alright Cedrian?” he asks, my attention is only interested in seeing the witch that tripped me, I look in front and it's the serpent. The very woman that gave me a beating this morning. What on Earth is she doing here? She is smiling at me like a circus crown.
“I'm so sorry are you alright?” she asks again.
“Alexis was that really necessary?” cousin Vincent asks in a serious tone.
“It was an accident," she replies with a puppy face, “I did not really see him walking”
“Listen to me you vulture, we are going to file a restraining order should you keep Assaulting Cedi,” Leisha raises her voice
“Cedi? Are you in first grade? I thought he was Cedrian? Alexis replies
I'm actually impressed that she has gotten my name right, I think my mouth twitches a bit and the pain disappears.
“Whatever,” Leisha replies.
“Come on ladies,” Mike intervenes, “if it was an accident and the lady has apologized then let's move on, Cedrian are you okay?”
“I'm fine,” I reply, “let's go to our seat,” everyone including the serpent looks at me surprised, they were all expecting me to insult the life out of the serpent but not today, and it's not in my nature to open my mouth anyhow. In Fact Mike is here. I really have to portray myself like the victim I am.
We all continue walking to our table and take seats, I do not know if it is karma but I find myself seated exactly across the serpent.
I notice that cousin Vincent remains at the serpents table and I now view everyone seated with her. I see miss Page and some dude who is smiling at me, I think he enjoyed the comedy the serpent just pulled out.
“Dad did you see that?? Leisha asks interrupting me, she is really enjoying hurting Cedi, what a desperate woman,”
“Who is she?” Mike asks.
“She is my boss,” I reply while eyeing the Serpent
“And why did you not let me finish her,” Leisha asks Mike.
“Well according to your earlier explanation of the office incident, I think it's now obvious to me. The boss lady likes Ced. She saw him entering the restaurant, stretched her leg in order to trip him and get his attention,” Mike says.
The three of us stare at him and then we stare at the serpent and laugh out hard.
“Like seriously guys, you are all crowded with what happened at the office and what she did that you could not notice how she was looking at Cedrian, infact she even had the energy to correct his name,” Mike adds.
“Do not tell me, uncle Philipe says eyeing me, “well my nephew is very good looking and I wouldn't be surprised if what you were saying was 100% correct.”
I do not know whether to laugh or keep quiet, if there was a time I really needed my mouth to say something terrible it was today but i'm blank. I stare in the direction of the serpent and I find her looking at me and we lock eyes.
“Cedi do not tell me you believe Mike, or maybe you are crushing on her too,” Leisha asks
The last part irritates me and I almost spit on the floor of this beautiful restaurant.
But cousin Vincent walks over and saves her, “I'm so sorry Cedrian are you okay now?”
“I'm fine thanks, just warn your boss to be a bit tidy soon I might become handicapped because of her."
“Hey Vincent is your boss single???” uncle Philipe asks
“Yes why??”
“Myself and Mike think she is crushing on poor Credito while Leisha and Cedito think she is a crazy lady out to hurt Cedrian, what's your opinion??”
Cousin Vincent looks at me and then looks over to the Serpent and smiles.
“Come on Vincent!! do not tell me you are also siding with them,” Leisha cries.
“let's bet, uncle Philipe suggests, “$1000 dollars to the fact that, that rich woman seated over there is crazy in love with my Cedito.”
“I'm for,” Mike says.
“I'm for,” Vincent seconds.
Leisha looks at me and says, “I'm against”
Everyone turns their eyes on me and wait for my reply
“What?? I'm not betting on anything,” I reply
“Why?? I think our Cedrian has already noticed it,” Mike says whilst sipping on his wine
Without thinking I raise my hand and say “I'm against, let's hope this is the last time you all bet about anything to do with my life. Can we order now, I remember we all came here to dine and not to bet on anything to do with me.”
They all burst out laughing, which only irritates me futher, I look over the serpent's table and I catch her staring at me, the other dude looks over too, he first looks at the serpent then he stares at me and smiles.
I look away only to find everyone looking at me then they all look at the other table and smile too.This is really irritating now.
“Would you all excuse me, I would like to go and make a call outside,” I say out
“Quite excused, but make sure you use the other row to avoid your crush from tripping you again,” Uncle Philipe adds to which they all burst out laughing.
What a batch of Annoying people I say to myself and take my Leave, of course I use the exact row the Serpent is seated on and I give her a cold look. I notice her looking away in disappointment, and I give myself a victory dance in my head.
A crush on me, I spit as soon as I am outside the restaurant.
