The Reason Why: Part-2

"Now listen, the reason I sent you to Japan is..."

"Wait, wait, wait. So you're telling me that you send me to Japan to make me do something for you?" I asked. He wouldn't just call me at this time if it wasn't something important, and the only thing that is important to him is his work.

"Exactly," He replied without any sign of hesitation.

"And you know that you can't make me do something if I don't want to do it, right?"

"I've thought of that already."

What does he mean by he thought of that? Is he going to force me to do stuff?

"So, what is the reason?" I asked.

"You've already noticed that there is something off about the school, didn't you?"

"Yes, why you ask?" I asked.

"So, the school was originally made for those teenagers who have slight mental issues. I am not indicating crazy people. You know what I mean."

"So, you're telling me that I am mentally sick?" I asked.

"No, that's not what I meant. The school gathered students who can suffer from mental disorders or illnesses if not treated immediately. But not all students are like that. It's like 10% of the students."

So that means there are 3 to 4 students like that in my class.

"Why are you telling me that? Isn't that something you need to hide from the students?"

"I am only telling you because you need to know these stuffs for what you need to do. You can call it a mission."

A mission huh? Sounds interesting. But do I have to get involved in this?

The way he was talking made me feel like he had something planned to make me work for him even if I didn't want to.

"Can you please go straight to the point?"

"So, the school has detected some psychopathic behavior among the students. I need you to find those students."

"The school can do it, right? Why do I need to do that?"

"Let me finish first, you need to detect those students and send them to the special care zone. That's the only thing the school can't do. It's against the rules. The school can't just send someone to the special care zone without any reason."

Special care? Doesn't that sound kind of familiar? I am pretty sure that I've heard that word somewhere.

"What's the special care zone is about?"

"Oh, you don't know about that yet?"

Was I supposed to know about it?

"I guess the exams haven't started yet. You'll know about it after your first exam ends." He said.

"If they are psychopaths, they had done some crimes, right? That alone should be enough reason to send them to that special care zone."

"I was waiting for you to ask that question, we haven't got any complaints about those students. That means they haven't done anything wrong yet."

'We'? Could it be...

"But there is a chance that they would get involved in some criminal activities. That's I want you to save them."

"How am I supposed to find out those 'psychopathic' students? I've never studied psychology before."

"Don't worry about that. The school team will help you. Call me after your first exam ends. I'll answer every question you ask."

"Ok then, can I refuse this offer?" I asked.

There was no way I would've accepted that. The mission not only looked scary but also dangerous. Dealing with some psychos? No way.

"I knew you would say that. That's why I am holding your friends hostage. If you don't follow my orders, those students might end up hurting your friends."

I smirked.

"Do you really think that I have friends? I am not the friendly type of guy you know."

"You will make friends, even if you don't want to."

"How can you be so sure? What if I don't interact with people at all?"

"If you don't make any friends no matter what, then I'll have no choice other than to hold your sister hostage." He replied.

"Did you forget the fact that she is your own biological daughter?"

"That's why I am telling you to follow my orders. She's your sister, right?"

"Tch."

"If you start making friends then I'd no longer have to hold you sister hostage. It's up to you to decide what to do."

"So you're saying that I have to make friends so I can lure my friends into danger, right?"

"It's kind of like that."

"I guess I don't have a choice then," I sighed.

"I am glad you understand. But I warn you, those students might be smarter than you think."

I hung up the phone and lied down on the bed. My mind was going wild. I felt restless.

"Wait, how is he going to hold my sister hostage if she is in the USA? Why did that slip out of my mind? What is he planning to do?" I asked myself those questions.

I got up from bed and took a sip of my coffee while sitting on my study chair. Today was an exhausting day and my dad made it even worse.

"Ok ok, calm down Ashiro Kaname. You have to figure some things out." I said to myself. I didn't know why but I was feeling very restless. I didn't know what to do but my mind was telling me to do something.

"Maybe I should read a book,"

...

"Students, your exams are going to start in 2 weeks, be sure to be prepared," Said Sakura-sensei.

I wasn't expecting the exam to happen that soon. I looked around and saw the other students were confused too. It was not only me, they also didn't expect that.

"But teacher, it's been only a month." A student stood up.

"Oh, I forget to you that there will be 34 exams in total in this school. There'll be an exam each month. So be prepared for that. Who knows, something bad might happen."

I noticed a small smirk on her face. It seemed like she really meant what she just said.

I looked around my surroundings again, all the students looked shocked and concerned. It seemed like they'd wasted the whole month without studying. I felt bad for them.

"Tch, I am going to change school, fuck this!" A student shouted, he was one of those delinquent students in my class.

"You are free to leave," Said Sakura-sensei, "But I can't guarantee you that you'd be able to join another high school."

What was that supposed to mean? Are we trapped here?

Several questions filled my brain. I took a deep breath to calm myself down.

The delinquent student sat down and punched the table with his fist which made a loud noise. It was clear that he didn't study anything at all.

Sakura-sensei didn't seem to care about his acts at all. She simply stood up and left the classroom while saying,

"I am going to end this lesson right here, you have 10 minutes until the next class start. Do whatever you please."

Aight, from now on I am going to publish a chapter each day. At least I am going to try to do it. So yeah, this wish me good luck and have a great day.
