1 The accident
"Honey, where do you wanna eat." Nathan was looking at his daughter and his wife from the rearview mirror. They were on their way to get some dinner.
"Anything sounds find to me daddy," said Francesca smiling at her mother.
"Then let's try a new restaurant I heard from my business partner that recently opened," said Nathan smiling.
"Darling! You and your daughter are just a foodie," said Evelyn chuckling.
The car ride was filled with conversation, laughter, and good background music. Until Nathan suddenly turned off the radio and was driving a bit fast, he will now and then look at the rearview mirror.
"Darling, what's wrong?" asked Evelyn looking a bit worried, she knew something was off when her husband suddenly turned off the radio.
"Someone is tailing us," said Nathan speeding up.
"What should we do?" asked Francesca with a panicking voice looking behind to see the car tailing them.
"Francesca don't panic! Darling, please contact our men," said Nathan while trying to find another way.
Evelyn contacted Nathan's men right away and shared her location to them, she came closer to Francesca and hugged her to calm her down. Nathan saw them from the rearview mirror and was tightly holding the starring wheel until his knuckles turned white. Suddenly the car that tailed them stopped speeding, Nathan was looking at the rearview mirror when Evelyn suddenly screamed. Before he could react a white truck was speeding toward them. Evelyn didn't hesitate and used her whole body as a shield to protect Francesca.
Francesca didn't know what happened after her mother screamed, her whole body was squeezed and it was hard to breathe. She tried so hard to use her last strength to open the door but it didn't open. Francesca saw a man that was also badly hurt climbing out of the white truck and was looking at her with a guilty look before he climbed on a black Mercedez that appeared in front of him. Francesca yelled and tried to open the car door again when it suddenly got open and assistant Wen (Nathan's assistant), bodyguards, the ambulance and the police came.
"Young miss are you alright?" asked assistant Wen looking anxious while carrying her out of the car.
"I'm fine! My parents are still in the car, quick help them," she yelled not caring about her big injuries.
Assistant Wen ignored her and ran to one of the doctors and dragged him over so he could examine her. She suddenly felt quite dizzy and finally saw her parents being carried out of the car but they were immediately dispatched to the ambulance. Francesca couldn't suddenly hear what people around her were saying anymore, and before she knew it she passed out.

In another country.
"What did you say?" asked elder Shen almost falling from the shocking news
" CEO Shen and Miss Evelyn died from a car accident. The young miss luckily survived but was bought to the hospital because of a slight head injury.
"Chairman Shen are you alright?" asked assistant Yu anxiously holding on elder Shen.
"Assistant Yu chancel my whole schedule until I say so and we are taking my private jet back to Z-city now." said elder Shen walking to his room to pack his important thing.
"Yes, chairman Shen!" said assistant Yu and ran out to get his tablet.

The first thing Francesca saw when she woke up was her grandfather elder Shen, assistant Wen ( her father's assistant), and assistant Yu (her grandfather's assistant) sitting on the couch near her bed looking worried at her.
"Pa! (grandfather)" said Francesca looking at elder Shen.
"Little flower pa is here, do you feel unwell?" asked elder Shen walking closer to her.
"I'm alright pa, but what about my parents?" asked Francesca looking uneasy at them.
The room was suddenly quiet. Neither elder Shen, assistant Wen, and assistant Yu knew have to tell her that her parents didn't make it. Francesca was looking at them and started to feel a part of her heart was lost, her tears started to fall.
"Young miss, CEO Shen was already badly injured when we helped you out of the car and miss Evelyn died on her way to the hospital. I'm sorry for your lose young miss." said assistant Wen looking at her with tears falling.
The atmosphere was very heavy, and nobody dared to say something. Elder Shen felt his heart inching seeing his granddaughter crying, he knew how it felt to lose somebody that meant a lot. His wife Yuri died when Francesca was 3 years old to cancer, and it took him a while before he could expect it.
"Little flower you are not alone, you still have pa to take care of you." said elder Shen holding her hand.
She just cried more until she fell asleep.

In C-city
"CEO Lee I need your signature for these documents." said assistant June.
Kevin signed those documents and was going back to the other files that he was doing when he felt that assistant June didn't go. He looking it up finally and saw have nervous assistant June was.
"what is it? If it is not work-related then you can go" he asked looking at assistant June.
Assistant June knew that his boss never liked talking about other issues doing work hours, but he knew that young miss Shen was something important to him so he tried his best to tell him.
"C..CEO Lee, ehm it's about young miss Shen," said assistant June nervously.
Kevin stopped completely with what he was doing and looked at assistant June.
"Young miss Shen and her parents were in a car accident not too long ago, she got a slight head injury and her parents didn't make..." said assistant June. Before he could finish his word, he saw his boss storming out of his office. As assistant June was surprised over his boss's reaction he heard a fierce shout, "June Kim!". Shocked by the sudden call, assistant June quickly ran out of the office, "Coming, sir."
After an hour of car ride they arrived at the hospital Francesca was transported to. They quickly found the information desk and found Francesca's VIP room, but got stopped when they came closer over.
"Who are you guys?" asked one of the bodyguards that were guarding the door.
"I'm CEO Lee from Lee Corporation and heard about your young miss. So I came personally to see have she is doing," said Kevin.
"Let me ask master Shen first, you can sit there," said one of the bodyguards and pointed the direction to the benches.
After a phew second elder Shen came out from Francesca's VIP room, looking first at Kevin and then at his assistant June.
"Who are you?" asked elder Shen looking at them dangerously.
"Elder Shen is been a while, I don't know if you still remember me but my name is Kevin Lee. My condolences to your family," said Kevin.
"Oh you are the young brat Lee from the Lee family, why are you here? Did your grandfather force you to come over here?" said elder She.
"No, my grandfather didn't force me to come over. I heard about this accident from my assistant and came over as fast as I could. How is she doing?" asked Kevin.
"She is doing alright, for now, and is now sleeping." said elder Shen with a sight.
"well, that's good to hear," said Kevin.
"I appreciate that you came young brat, but we are doing good for now. So tell your old man that we are fine and he shouldn't worry about us." said elder Shen.
Kevin wanted to tell elder Shen that he did not come because of his grandfather, and to be honest he didn't even know if his family knew about this accident. Kevin came personally to see if Francesca was doing alright, he wanted to meet her, to be there for her, but he didn't know if she still remembers him. The last time they meet was like 8 years ago.
"Then this is my number, please don't hesitate to call me," said Kevin handing over his business card elder Shen.
"Thank you! You should go back to work now, and greet you, grandfather, for me." said elder Shen.
Kevin nodded and walked away with assistant June. On his way to his car, his phone started to ring.
"Hello grandfather!" said Kevin.
"Don't you hello me, did you hear about my old friend Shen's family?" asked elder Lee.
"Yes, I just meet elder Shen," said Kevin.
"You brat! why didn't you call me? Are you still my grandson? Nevermind don't answer, just pick me up from the old mansion" said elder Lee annoyingly.
"He told me that he is doing fine and that you shouldn't worry about them, and he told me to greet you too," said Kevin expressionless.
"Nonsense how can I not worry about my old friend's family?" said elder Lee.
"Grandfather I think we should let them be for now," said Kevin.
"You brat is like your father, that's why you're still single." said elder Lee angrily.
Kevin wanted to facepalm himself so hard, and before he could answer, his grandfather hung up. He was looking at his phone speechlessly.
"Where to go sir?" asked chauffeur Vo.
"back to the office," said Kevin.
