6 Chapter 6: He's More Than Just a Midfielder with Technique?

Havertz didn't celebrate his goal on his own; instead, he turned and ran towards Li Kang.

The two exchanged a simple handshake.

Their teammates excitedly surrounded them.

"Li, that was a beautiful pass!"

"If you'd passed the ball to me, I could have scored too!"

Leverkusen had been under Monchengladbach's dominance in the youth league for a long time.

In their previous encounter, they had been beaten 5-0.

Li Kang's superb through-ball brought relief to Leverkusen's young players. Before they could celebrate, they heard Coach Topp's shouts from the sideline.

On the sideline, the old man with the explosive hair made a few gestures, and the young players understood.

On the other side, Monchengladbach's youth team coach, Jopatin, furrowed his brows but didn't show any negative emotions. He loudly encouraged his players.

The game resumed at the center circle. Monchengladbach's players were impatient and unwilling to let their opponents equalize. Leverkusen was gradually retreating and rearranging their formation.

"Guys, do you see it? Leverkusen is scared! Monchengladbach will soon break through their defense and score in the penalty area!"

"Stay calm, a comeback is just a matter of time! Steady!"

"They are just giving us a face-saving goal. Monchengladbach is going to dominate from now on!"

Leverkusen's fans in the stands couldn't help but worry. They had seen this situation before, where Leverkusen was pushed around by Monchengladbach in the past.

Coach Topp on the sideline looked eager, as if he was waiting for something. He muttered like a spell-casting sorcerer, and everyone thought Monchengladbach was about to press Leverkusen in the penalty area.

But then, a surprising scene unfolded.

As the ball moved into the 30-meter zone, Leverkusen's young players began aggressively pressing Monchengladbach. Monchengladbach's players, who had been confident about their high pressing, tried to speed up their passing but realized something was wrong. The dragon-blooded kid seemed to have seen through everything. He was pressuring them while also blocking Monchengladbach's passing lanes in the opponent's half.

The Trent Bridge's audience erupted in cheers again. When the ball reached Monchengladbach's forward, Li Kang swiftly turned and sprinted towards him with extreme aggression. There was no fierce physical contact or sly moves—just a clean, decisive interception. In the eyes of God, Monchengladbach's defense was wide open.

Li Kang immediately launched a long pass as he was under pressure. At the same time, he sprinted forward with all his might.

Monchengladbach's defenders turned to chase after him, but the dragon-blooded kid seemed to predict everything. He not only intercepted but also blocked Monchengladbach's forward passing options.

As the ball came to Monchengladbach's midfielder, Havertz, near the center circle, he received Li Kang's pass. He made a quick dribble to get past Monchengladbach's defenders and headed towards the opponent's half, leaving Monchengladbach's high defensive line chasing after him.

Havertz had great football intelligence and quickly noticed Li Kang's positioning. With the outside of his foot, he struck the ball firmly on the lower left side.

In the air above Trent Bridge, an impeccable arc was drawn. Leverkusen's fans couldn't help but want to celebrate as the ball landed at Li Kang's feet.

He was through on goal, but the pass was slightly too strong. Li Kang had to slow down and make a couple of adjustments to control the ball securely.

Monchengladbach's tall defender had caught up, a mature and muscular player with a head larger than Li Kang's bottom. In the midst of the crowd's gasps, he fiercely collided with Li Kang.

Without any clear sight of what happened, the sturdy Monchengladbach defender fell to the ground. Li Kang quickly flicked the ball ahead, charging into Monchengladbach's penalty area. Just as the opposing goalkeeper hesitated to come out, he slightly leaned and pulled the trigger with his left foot, exhibiting an impeccable shooting motion.

The ball shot like an arrow leaving the bowstring, piercing through Monchengladbach's youth team's goal, rewriting the scoreline.

2:0!

The Trent Bridge Stadium, with just a few hundred spectators, erupted.

In the stands, someone was the first to shout out the words behind Li Kang's jersey.

Gradually, the entire stadium enthusiastically chanted that name.

"Lee!!!"

"Lee!!!"

"Lee!!!"

Li Kang turned to look at the stands and gave a smile. This was his first goal in a match, and he had no idea what kind of celebration to do.

His teammates swarmed around him, celebrating these two exhilarating goals. Monchengladbach was like the bad kids next door, rubbing Leverkusen's face in the dirt from the U14 team onwards.

Coach Topp rubbed his face and said, "Take Li Kang out! He's too damn amazing! When did this kid learn to use his body like this? And what's up with the power in this shot? He's definitely one of the best

in the youth league!"

The assistant coach was puzzled. "But it's not even twenty minutes into the match."

"Idiot! Can't you see the looks on those Monchengladbach kids' faces? They'd love to eat Li Kang alive! Don't forget the fierceness they show every time they play against Bayern's youth team!"

In Coach Topp's eyes, it wasn't worth risking Li Kang's safety in a youth team match. If he got injured, that bully Wolter would definitely cause trouble.

In the Dragon Nation's live broadcast studio, the young broadcaster was stunned for a while.

"Guys, I was wrong. Li Kang is incredible! He's not just a technical midfielder, but he's got strength too?"

"Let's go! Leverkusen's youth team is going to shine this season with Li on board! Absolutely solid!"

A moment later, when he saw Li Kang being substituted, he was baffled.

"What's going on? Why did they take Li out? Oh my..."

"Leverkusen's youth team coach is an idiot!"

"Match-fixing!"
