17 One decision:From hell to heaven

Ashley's P.O.V

The same Edam was standing there. He was looking at me with his eyes wide open. Wind blowing faster than ever.

"Ash?" Edam's sweet voice said, It is not changed at all

BAM!!!

The sound of my slap on his face came out loudly

"Ouch!!" Edam said

Kick on his stomach, a punch on his face, I was about to punch him again, but he grabbed my arm before that.

"Your punch got stronger, look, my mouth is bleeding," He said with a warm smile, and his mouth was bleeding a bit, While he was smiling, I was angry

I pulled my arm back and said

"What the heck are you doing here?" I said with cold eyes

"Hey, are you still angry about that day?" Edam said with a dull face

"You just left me like that, do you think I would be overjoyed seeing my best friend mocking me and leaving me? Do you even know what I had to face after that?" I said with a serious tone

"I am sorry, I did it for your own good" Edam said in a really sad tone

"For my good, huh? Don't make me laugh, Not even a message or a missed call and you say it was for my good?" I taunted

"Ash....." Edam was about to speak

"Don't call me Ash, I don't let strangers call me with that name" I stopped him before he could say anything, His eyes got wider with shock

"This much hate towards me? Were you that hurt? But see, you recognized my face even after so many years, you did miss me?" Edam said with a small smile on his face

I was speechless and did not know what to say

"Ash...Ashley, You see, My parents took the decision to leave that place and I didn't even know, They told me a week or 2 weeks before. I was worried that you were so weak and you could be bullied by anyone and since you trust easily you will get fooled by people, so I decided to make you a bit strong before I leave and the only way in my mind was that when you will face betrayal from the closest one, you will be stronger so I did it, For your good." Edam explained

"And see, Today you are so strong, I can feel your aura" Edam smiled in joy, but I am still angry but even angrier

"You fool, I am not strong because of what you did, It was..... never mind, I shouldn't tell this to a stranger like you, But just know one thing, That your foolish decision to make me strong and to make me more careful while choosing a person to trust, just made me a person, who don't know the meaning of trust anymore," I said in anger and turned around to leave.

"What does that mean Ashley?" Edam said while grabbing my arm resisting me to leave, His voice sound worried, But I just pulled my arm back and left for class.

A few minutes were still left before the recess was over, I sat on my desk and looked down the window, Edam was looking at me, I closed the window in irritation.

I can't imagine that he could be so stupid. Instead of taking this foolish decision, If he stayed by my side giving me comfort and strength even through the phone when my mom died, It would've been a whole different story, If only he did not take that one decision, One decision could've changed my whole life from hell to heaven.

All these years, I did miss him, whenever I saw kids playing in the park, It made me remember our old days.

"What a jerk," I thought

Bell rang, Recess was over. Finally, So, much happened in my life just in recess.

Thia entered the class with others. I changed my facial expression trying my best to not show what just happened

"Ash, what's the matter?" Thia asked in a serious tone

"What?" I said, still playing Dumb

"Nothing, So we will directly go to pick grandma?" Suddenly Thia changed her mood and was smiling, but something was off for sure

"Well, you will stay here, I will bring Dad's car and pick you up," I told her

"And how are you supposed to go there?" Thia asked

"I don't know, maybe bus" I confusingly said

"Idiot, Take my cycle to your home and take your dad's car, after picking your grandma and dropping her home, I will go home from my cycle" Thia said while hitting me on the head

"Oh, yeah, we can do that," I said normally

The teacher entered the class and Thia instantly sat on her seat. The day started again. I tried my best not to think about Edam but, I couldn't do anything.

Between the last class, I felt hungry, I didn't even eat anything from the morning, I sneakily took out the lunch box from Thia's bag, Thia did not like the food her mother sent her, So she used to skip it and instead ate the canteen food.

I successfully took it and opened it and nothing. NOTHING?, Did she eat it?

UHHHH!!!

Now what? I just put my head down on the desk in hunger, I felt a tap on my shoulder, I looked back at Alan

"What? " I whispered

He took out a lunch box from his bag and gave it to me while saying

"Who said you to skip your meal? Fool. I bring an extra lunch box for Chris, Today he ate Thia's. Here, take it" Alan whispered

I should've not taken the lunch box, but I was hungry, so I accepted it and started to eat. It was such a royal meal, pork, rice, and all the stuff I can only dream of eating. Does he bring this kind of food daily? Gosh, He got some money there, of course.

"TEACHER! ASHLEY IS EATING" Rose shouted to the teacher

The teacher came to my desk and everyone was looking at me.

"If you are so hungry, Get out of my class and eat there," He said

I said nothing

"GET OUT" He shouted

I don't know if I was supposed to do that but I took the lunch box and left to get out of the class

"WHERE ARE YOU TAKING THE LUNCH BOX?" Teacher shouted

"You said I can get out if I want to eat, since I am getting out, I am going to eat there," I said and everyone laughed in a low voice

"SHUT UP EVERYONE! AND YOU, GET OUT" the Teacher said and I did as he said

I sat on the floor outside the class and enjoyed my lunch. It was Delicious. After 10 minutes of my finishing lunch, the period was over. The day was over.

I got up and entered the class

"Ashley must've enjoyed the meal outside the class," Rose said with a smirk on her face

"Yeah, actually I did, It was pretty good, Thank you Alan for the meal," I said in a loud voice and looked at Alan, I specifically used Alan's name Since I already realize that Rose like Alan, I made her jealous.

I was wishing him to play along and he did

"Your welcome," He said in the same cold tone while zipping his bag

"See, I have to go now, I don't have that much time to waste on rubbish" I mocked her and went to my seat, Gave the lunch box back, and packed my stuff up.

"Thia, Let's go," I said and Thia and I left the classroom together.

"That rose is suspicious, She is acting weird lately, You should be more careful around her" Thia warned

I bumped into someone while listening to Thia, I looked up and saw Edam

"EDAM?! WTF!!!! YOU STUDY HERE?" Thia shouted and everyone stared at us

"Yes Thia, I study here, Long time no see?" Edam replied to Thia

"OMG! You jerk, You didn't even message, Right Ash?" Thia said while looking at

"Stop asking me, Let's go or we will be late," I said Thia and left ignoring Edam

"Hey!Ash!Wait" Thia shouted from behind

"HEY! Edam is here, Do you still remember who he is..... Oh, Are you still angry over that day? Come one, What's gone is gone." Thia tried to comfort me but It's not that easy to get over it like people think it is. Only the one who is going through it can know how painful it is. I am ready to forgive him, but forgetting is a harder fight for me.

"Grandma must be waiting," I said while ignoring what Thia said

Thia understood that I didn't want to talk about it and kept quiet.
