I'll Warm You Up

"You're so open and bold under that cloak of awkwardness, sunflower."

"Can I stay with Sasha tonight?" Tara pleads, blinking her eyes innocently. She's currently holding on to Sasha's leg tightly, refusing to let go of her as she doesn't want to go back home.

"No, you have school tomorrow," I tell her, annoyed. It's quarter past 1 am, and it'll take us an hour to reach home. If we don't leave now, it'll be hard for me to wake up early for work tomorrow, and I can't take an off tomorrow either since thanks to Tara, I have a stay back.

"I have school day after tomorrow, too," she shrugs. "I'll go to school then. Let me stay with her, pwease!"

"You just started your school today! You can't take leave after just one day. What will everyone think?!" I ask incredulously. Everyone is going to think that she didn't like the school or something else, which I have no patience to squat down.
