2 Chapter 01: What?! I Turned Into A Lizard?

Here I was...

Trapped in a something small, Bendable, but hard and rough nonetheless.

The Inside was filled with warm liquid which appeared to be keeping me alive.

What happened? Why me? Who would gain anything by trapping a good-for-nothing boy like me?

First things first... I have to get out of here.

*snap*

*crumble*

*crack*

That's it, its opening! Almost there..!!

*break*

It opened!! I am free!! I opened my eyes, I could see it!!

But all around me was darkness, apart from faint luminescent lights that scattered a faint glow around the area. But what I saw chilled me to the bone... I was not alone... eggs...

Eggs were spread as far as my eyes could reach.

but what were they? Sharp looking eyes, claws, and teeth. they had a long and pointy snout.

Then again... wait... even a tail?! The sheer amount of lizards was mind-boggling!

And what was worse, why were they the same size as average humans?

Wait, wait, wait... they are all hatching from eggs?

Hmm...?

*shuffle* *crack* *shuffle*

N-no... No way...

*slide*

This can't be right?!

I was alive and well, a boy in the Netherlands...

What happened? Why... Why am I one of them?

I did turn into a Lizard?! Hmm... isn't this similar to the popular trend in Japan? Isekai was it?

Where they get reincarnated into another world and get either really strong or extremely weak? This can't be happening right? Why a lizard?

No, No, No, No, NO!!! Something must have gone wrong!!

while putting on a tantrum I flailed aimlessly on my back.

It is no use worrying about it now... The harsh truth is, that I am a lizard now...

There is no time to get distracted in this new world, this new reality, better get used to it then...

Looking around I see individuals group together. What are they doing?

Hey, Aren't they eating?

*Growl*

Realizing I haven't eaten anything since emerging from the egg I became curious. I slowly closed in behind them. Wondering what they were feasting on. They got careless and opened up the circle allowing me to see inside.

I was disgusted... taken aback by the sheer horror and realization what they were eating in this grotto with only lizards as far as the eye could see.

Why didn't it hit me sooner? These sick bastards were eating each other!!

How would you call this? Survival of the fittest? No... This was Cannibalism, right?

My hunger started to overcome my reasoning.

Disgusted by this I refused to turn in one of my fellow siblings. slowly backing away...

My only option in a situation like this... Was to run... Run, hide and find a safe place to eat.

The others had finished the weaker sibling, having a taste of the flesh of their kind nothing could stop them. Attacking each other in a blind rage the entire area turned into a bloodbath.

When I thought I could get away safely one of my feet slipped on the scattered eggshells breaking in the process.

*crack*

A loud crack echoed throughout the cavern.

The others heard it too, the sound piqued their interest as it interrupted their meal.

Their heads turned towards me at least 10 of them glared at me with the intent of eating me.

Drool seeped out of their mouth as they turned around. All of them had at least eaten one of their fellow siblings and were out for more.

The next one on the menu... was ME?! NO WAY!!!

I ran as fast as I could, hoping to get out of this mess alive. Adrenaline rushed through my veins, my limbs worked over hours... Having eaten a few of my brothers and sisters their bellies were pretty much filled. This made it difficult for them to walk.

Even though I was out of breath I did not turn to look behind me, the only thought on my mind was to survive... and get out of here alive...

The group began to struggle, trampling each other because of their lag of balance.

The cause? Their over full stomachs.

Most of the group who pursued me had fallen behind, unable to reach me they decided the best way of action was to attack each other.

Luckily for me, I could hide behind a rock formation, the darkness made it impossible for others to see me. luminescent moss cast shadows over the rocks making it even more difficult to look inside the formation.

By now my siblings had completely forgotten about me, there were more important matters at hand. Like, attacking the weakest link in the group.

I looked in horror as they began attacking one of the siblings who's limbs gave in because of the sheer amount of accumulated overall weight.

Someone had eaten way too much, which had cost him in the end.

It was then that the entire ground began to shake.

*rumble* *rumble*

I couldn't see what it was, cowering away in fear as I hid inside the rock formation.

*Rooooaaarrr*

The group who was feasting on each other instantly stopped, frozen in fear we looked when suddenly a huge claw slammed down on the group in front of me.

*SLAM*

The entire cave shook when the claw hit the ground. The claw scraped the tiny lizards together eating whatever remained of the group.

For some reason I found the courage to slowly turn my head over the edge.

Revealing something immeasurable...

Huge!! The beast was at least a thousand times larger than me. Refusing to be turned into the pile of blood in front of me I quickly ran. Out of the sight of the huge creature...

It was clear it was not one of us, but did my eyes deceive me?

What I had seen... was that a dragon?!

I couldn't think about trivial stuff right now... I refused to die when my life had just started.

in front of me was a wall, a steep wall with creeks at least three times my size.

That was my chance for survival!

Without a second thought, I rushed towards the openings in the wall. The beast had noticed me, quickly lashing out at me.

In the nick of time, I made it through, but was I save? The beast its claws instantly broke off a part of the wall! I had no time to lose, I needed to run as far away as I could.

I kept running and running and running throughout the narrow tunnel, the darkness engulfed me... Thinking I had survived something crazy I caught a glimpse of a faint light at the end of the narrow path. Running out as fast as I could, quickly hiding in a narrow opening at the bottom of a wall. Finally calming down while catching my breath, my mind got flooded by emotions and thoughts seeing how I survived something crazy like that.
