It's My Party, And I'll Cry If I Wanna

Amelia and I looked at some amazing gowns and started to get ready for the night's event. She picked a tight red mermaid dress that was off the shoulders with long sleeves and a sweetheart cut making her breasts look five times bigger than they were. As if she needed any more help in that deparentment. Her hair was up with small stud dimond earrings and matching necklace. My dress was a bit more flashy. It's Royal blue with a nice fitted waist and it had real diamonds draping down my back like curtains. The halter top neck was also covered in diamonds, and the slit went all the way up to my waist. The blue velvet hugged me in all the right places and showed off my leg as if it were super long. I had my hair up with nice dangling diamond earrings. I was covered in diamonds and was sure to sparkle all night. My mother's Crown fit the dress perfectly. I felt like the prettiest girl there. This is my birthday, and I knew tonight was just going to be absolutely amazing. After I greeted the 3rd Royal family I was able to start my night. I shook hands with every available mailbox and yet I still haven't found my mate. Maybe tonight wasn't the night.. I didn't lose hope, but it was seeming a bit hopeless. I glanced over at my brother and Amelia and I thought to myself add to myself how beautiful they were together. Amelia would make the perfect Luna. I wish my father could see it, I wish my father knew just how great she could really be. He just needed to give her the chance instead of giving her an ultimatum. I grabbed my bestie's arm and she knew by the look on my face that we were about to get down. I asked the DJ to play my favorite song you know the one "She Wolf ".

Amelia and I were dancing as if we were the only 2 in the room.. It wasn't until Prince Brandon and Rivers came to dance with us that we realized we were being watched by everyone. Rivers turned to me and said "Mind your manners princess, you've got all eyes tonight. "

Too bad Cayden didn't dance. I looked at Amelia and with my eyes I told her it's OK you can dance with Rivers tonight. Rivers was the perfect dance partner. He had better bodyrolls than any girl I've seen. I stood and watched them for a bit as I talked with Prince Brandon. Rivers held Amelia's hand as she dipped low. I couldn't help but applaud. It was in that moment I turned and I looked at Cayden.. His eyes were bright red and he was ready to fight. I wasn't sure why. Why was he so angry angry? He charged at Amelia and grabbed her by the arm dragging her into the terrace. I was in shock. How could he do this?

I quickly ran after them. I saw him holding her against the wall. Immediately I grabbed him by the shoulder and threw him off her. He growled at me and said "SHE'S MINE!!!"

My claws came out and I held my hand in front of him.

"NO, SHE'S MY BEST FRIEND! I WILL NEVER LET YOU HURT HER!" What am I doing? Am I really challenging my brother? Am I ready to lose my family? None of this mattered. Amelia was my best friend and I would make sure no harm would ever come to her. It didn't matter if it was my father, my brother, or even Rivers. I would give my life for her. Cayden lunged at me. Before his hands reached my throat he was on the ground. Amelia stepped forward saying words I didn't understand with her hands held outward.

A loud controlling voice yelled out "Enough."

Everyone's head bowed down to my father, except for Prince Brandon who was loyal to his father as King.

Father walked over, and apologized to Prince Brandon. He looked at us and asked "What happened? " None of us spoke. It was Alpha Eric that broke the silence.

F*(k was he here the whole time? How embarrassing.

Alpha Eric said " Your majesty, if I may. It seems as though Prince Cayden was displeased with his mate and the bond took over his logic. Princess Mari, saw how frightened her companion was and intervened. Although the mate bond would never allow one to hurt their true mate, I don't belive Princess Mari knew this, or that Ms. Amelia could bring the Prince to his knees at any moment."

I felt so stupid. How did I not know that Amelia was this strong? I just found out she was a witch. I still thought of her as a weak human. Tears began to fill my eyes as I realized, I was in the wrong. I made assumptions about everyone, that almost caused me to fight my own brother. I looked over at Amelia and she mouthed its OK.

My father said "Thank you Eric. Mari we will talk about this tomorrow. Cayden go to room for the rest of the night. Mari you have 20 minutes before you need to get back inside. Amelia and Rivers, please escort Prince Brandon back in. " and then he left as of nothing happened.

I couldn't hold back and started crying. I shifted and all my diamonds were scattered on the floor. I didn't care. I messed everything up. I ran to beach. Under the moonlight, I just kept running.

As I began to slow down I saw a massive sandy brown wolf running after me. I tried to mind link this wolf, "Identify yourself?" I asked.

"Alpha Eric from the Crescent Moon Pack" he replied.

As if tonight didn't already suck.
