Adrian's past

"Hey... Can we talk for a minute?"

"You..."

"Hi..."

The boy remembered who the person in front of him was, he was the person who had just had his money stolen by him. The boy thought that this man in front of him would take him to jail for stealing his money and without thinking anymore the boy ran away from there. He couldn't be caught because if he was caught then no one would take care of his little sister at home. David who saw the boy running away immediately cast magic to stop him. 

"Binding chain"

After that, a magic chain appeared which immediately bound the boy until he could not move at all, the boy began to be afraid because he did not expect that the person he robbed was a wizard. This time he couldn't escape at all he was confused about what to do to get out of this problem. 

"Hey... don't be afraid I'm not planning to take you to jail or anything like that"

The boy was confused by what the person in front of him was talking about, if he had no intention of taking him to jail then why did he arrest him? 

"So what are you arresting me for?"

"I told you that I just want to talk to you for a while"

"I'm sorry but I don't have much time to talk to you, I have to go home to see my little sister"

"Hmmm... then we'll go to your house and talk about it there, shall we?"

"What?"

"Hey... what are you waiting for let's go, don't worry I have no bad intentions at all"

The boy seemed to think for a while and decided to go to his house together with David, during the trip they talked to each other and the boy finally told that his name was Adrian. Well... although David already knew the boy's real name. Because he is the one who will become a great assassin in the future and will be Ren's loyal subordinate. He didn't expect to meet him so soon, David thought maybe this was his lucky day to meet someone who would become a Great Assassin in the future. 

After walking for a few minutes they finally arrived at Adrian's house and while there they saw a group of about 8 men who forced Adrian's younger sister to come with them. 

"Come on..." One of the men said as he pulled the girl's hand. 

"NO... I DON'T WANT TO COME... BROTHER HELP ME"

"Your brother won't be able to help you at all, you remember that your parents have a lot of debt right? If we sell you in the slave market, at least we can reduce your parents' debt a little... hahaha..." said one of the men there. 

Adrian who saw his sister being taken away by those men felt angry, this must be that person again. He couldn't let them take him away. 

"HEI .... LET GO OF MY SISTER RIGHT NOW"

Adrian started running towards the men who were trying to take away his sister, he clenched his fists and prepared to hit them all but Adrian's attempt failed because he couldn't possibly fight adults who were bigger than him. One of the men easily stopped his punch and even retaliated by hitting Adrian again until he fell with a slightly bleeding lip. David who saw that felt that they had gone too far and started talking. 

"Hey... don't you know the shame of beating children, let the girl go right now or I'll beat you all up."

The people who heard David's words just looked at each other and a moment later they started laughing. 

"HAHAHA... you... want to beat us up? Don't make us laugh, son, leave while we haven't changed our minds, this is none of your business."

David who felt humiliated did not accept all that, he would show them what would happen if they dared to do evil to him. David began to run quickly until within 3 seconds David was already in front of one of the men holding the girl's hand and immediately hit his face so hard that the man bounced and hit the wall. 

"LACK OF TEACHING!!.... EVERYONE BEAT HIM UP!"

All the men who were there understood, they took out their weapons and ran towards David. David started running again to beat them up, he started from the man with the sword. The man who saw David running towards him immediately swung his sword and tried to slash David's neck, but David easily avoided his attack and immediately swung his leg right at the man's head, the man did not have time to avoid David's attack and was immediately hit by his kick and bounced until it hit his friend who tried to help, causing them both to bounce until they hit the trash can there.

Those who saw this did not remain silent and attacked David again, David who saw this immediately deployed his sword against them with the sword he got from the man before him. 

David began to swing his sword vertically toward one of the men who came towards him, causing one of the man's arms to be severed from his body. 

"AAHH..."

The man screamed in pain while holding his arm that was severed by David's slash, David who saw this did not remain silent and immediately hit the man's chin until he was thrown and fell to the ground strongly. After that David ran after the other men at high speed and started slashing them one by one until finally David managed to win the fight. Many of the men were seriously injured and some even died as a result of David's actions. They decided to retreat and bring their surviving members out of there. 

After finishing off the disturbing insects David went straight to where Adrian and his sister were, Adrian was very grateful to David for helping him save his sister. 

Adrian also told David to enter his house and David happily entered Adrian's house. Inside the house David could see the inside of Adrian's house which was very simple even the floor was still made of dirt, the roof was full of holes and even the bed was only made of wood without any pillows at all. David felt sorry to see the two of them whose lives were even worse than David's previous life when he was Roy Wijaya.

"Thank you for helping us"

"Ah... no problem Adrian, we fellow humans have to help each other right"

"Oh... yes what's your sister's name, Adrian"

"My sister's name is Mia."

"Hello Mia" David said while waving his hand. 

Mia who saw that immediately hid behind Adrian's body because she was afraid of the new person she knew, Adrian who knew it stroked Mia's head and spoke to her. 

"It's okay Mia, he's a good person, let's introduce yourself, don't be like that to people who have helped us."

Mia who heard that immediately came out slowly and stepped forward toward David after getting close enough Mia began to extend her hand towards David. 

"Meet M... My name is Mia."

"You're so cute Mia," David said as he stroked Mia's head. 

"Oh... I forgot, I haven't asked you what your name is" Adrian said. 

"Name... Hahaha... yes I forgot, introduce my name is David, David Hilbert."

Adrian who knew David's last name was immediately surprised, how could the most influential upper-class nobles in the Malvyn Empire like the Hilbert family want to come to a remote place like this? 

"I apologize for my rudeness to you sir," Adrian said while bowing his body. 

"Hmm... no need to be so formal, just call me David"

"Alright, David."

"Adrian, can I ask you something?"

"What is it sir... uh I mean David"

"Where's your mom and dad, why haven't I seen them all this time"

Adrian who was asked about his parents was immediately sad, as was Mia. 

"Our mother died two years ago trying to protect me."

"Protect you?"

"I'll tell you about it"

Flashback 2 years ago_

"Adrian, Mia it's time for breakfast"

"Yes, Mom," Adrian and Mia said at the same time. 

Adrian and Mia immediately ran to the dining table, when they arrived there Mia immediately hugged her mother with affection which was reciprocated by stroking Mia's head while Adrian immediately sat in a chair for breakfast, at the dining table there were only 3 slices of bread and 3 glasses of water. 

"Sorry... a mom can only afford this"

"It's okay mom, Adrian knows Mom's difficulties"

"Thank you, Adrian, now you eat."

"Yes, Mom."

Mia and Adrian began to eat quietly, Adrian and Mia's mother's name was Vanesha. After they finished eating, Vanesha immediately said goodbye to her son to work. Vanesha did anything to earn money, from being a farmer, a tailor, and others. Just to support their family while Adrian and Mia's father doesn't care at all, he even very rarely comes home and when he comes home he is only drunk and will torture Vanesha and the children if his wishes are not fulfilled. This resulted in Vanesha having to work hard for everything. 

"Adrian, take care of your sister while mom is away."

"Yes Mom, but do you have to work today, Mom's health is declining. Mom looks very pale"

"It's okay Adrian, Mom is okay then I'll go first."

"Alright Mom, see you later. "

Vanesha immediately left the house to work while Adrian stayed where he was because he was thinking about something. Thinking of helping his mother earn money to ease her burden, Adrian decided to work too, he said goodbye to Mia to go out while Adrian told Mia not to leave the house at all. Mia complied. 

While outside Adrian applied to various places for work but was always rejected because he was underage to work. But Adrian did not give up and continued to apply for jobs everywhere until finally there was a restaurant that accepted him as a dishwasher with a salary of 5 silver coins per day, Adrian accepted it with a smile and started doing his job. When night fell, Adrian finally finished his work and earned 5 silver coins. Adrian said thank you and immediately said goodbye to his boss. 

On the way home, Adrian was suddenly approached by several adults who surrounded Adrian there. 

"Who are you... what do you want from me"

"Are you Farel's son?"

"Yes, I'm his son, but what's wrong?"

"Your father owes our boss a lot of money, now tell us where he is"

"Ehh... I didn't know he never came home"

"Sorry... you must be lying right... You guys just beat this anai until he talks about where Farel is"

The men immediately beat Adrian to a pulp. they kicked, punched until Adrian's body was bruised. While Adrian was being beaten, a woman's voice suddenly shouted at them. 

"STOP!"

It turned out to be Adrian's mother Vanesha, those who heard the voice immediately stopped their action while Vanesha immediately ran to where Adrian was and hugged Adrian. 

"What are you guys doing"

"Are you Farel's wife?"

"Yes."

"Your husband owes our boss a lot of money, tell me where Farel is"

"Aa... I don't know where he is"

"Cih... You're the same, just beat them both"

"Uh... wait... "

Before Vanesha could finish her speech, they immediately returned to beating them and there Vanesha protected Adrian by making himself a shield to make Vanesha's body bruised and even bleeding due to their actions. A few minutes later they stopped hitting Vanesha and Adrian and said. 

"Later tonight I will come and you have to prepare the money."

The thugs immediately left Vanesha and Adrian in poor condition, vanesha tried to get up and carry Adrian who was unconscious to go home. 

Adrian finally regained consciousness and the first thing he saw was his sister Mia and her mother sitting on the beach while putting her head on the bed while closing her eyes, Mia who saw Adrian who had regained consciousness immediately hugged Adrian. 

"Hiks... hiks... brother you finally realized too"

"Mom...how is she doing?"

"After mom treated brother, she said mom was sleepy so she slept here," Mia said while pointing at mom. 

Adrian tried to get up from his bed even though his whole body was very sore from being beaten by the thugs. 

"Mom... mom... wake up"

Adrian tried to wake up Vanesha but she didn't get any response, Adrian thought maybe his mother fainted from trying to protect Adrian. Seeing the condition of his mother who was covered in wounds just like him. 

BRAKK...

Suddenly someone broke down their door and it turned out to be the punks who hit Adrian and his mother. 

"Where's the money FAST..."

"Please give us time to collect" Adrian said. 

"Ah... NO, WE WANT THE MONEY NOW"

"hey why is this woman still sleeping, is she ignoring us" one of the men said. 

They began to head towards the direction where Vanesha was and Mia prevented them from approaching their mother, but it was all in vain because Mia was easily pushed to the ground. Adrian who saw that tried to get up but his body did not go as he wanted due to the injuries he received. They also began to lift Vanesha and try to build her up but there was still no response from Vanesha until one of them checked her condition. 

"Hey... this woman is dead"

"W...what?"

Adrian was shocked to learn this, how could his mother die... no this was all his fault, vanesha's condition was not good because she always forced herself to work coupled with the arrival of the punks who beat them both must have made Vanesha's condition even worse. Adrian began to blame himself for his mother's death. 

"Hey... how about we take this woman's corpse, who knows there are still organs like heart and lungs that can be sold."

Adrian who heard this was immediately shocked when the thugs wanted to take his mother's corpse to sell her internal organs. No, he wouldn't let them. 

"NO... I WON'T LET IT HAPPEN."

Adrian started to get up and tried to attack them again. 

"GET OUT OF THE WAY YOU SON OF A BITCH"

The punks easily hit Adrian and sent him crashing into the wall. 

"You should be grateful because with this at least your debt can be reduced, but remember this is only the interest you have to pay on time otherwise see what we will do. Come on guys."

The punks left with their mother's corpse. 

"NO!!!... MOM!!!.... "
