19 Feng 'Government Employee Confirmed' Jiao

The bank lady stared at Ming Lan speechlessly for a few seconds before frowning even deeper.

Feng Jiao didn't think that frowning that deep was possible, but she learned something new every day. Today she learned that even non alpha werewolves can be jerks, even bigger jerks than some alpha werewolves.

This lady in particular, was a bigger jerk than all the alpha's she'd killed so far.

Sure, those were all hardened criminals who had backgrounds in drugs, human trafficking and other illegal things, but at least they weren't annoying.

This bank lady however, was as annoying as a bank lady could possibly get.

Feng Jiao couldn't imagine someone nearly as annoying as the bank lady. Especially after her next words.

"You take me for a fool don't you? Mortician? Government job? You two are involved in fraud and I can tell. If you don't want to be thrown out, admit your faults and then leave." the bank lady spat out with a nasty expression, as if she had just eaten something bitter.

Feng Jiao yawned and then turned to Ming Lan. Ming Lan would deal with this, Ming Lan always did. There was nothing Ming Lan couldn't lie her way out of.

"Would someone who wasn't a mortician carry this around?" Ming Lan laughed before pulling out a little bottle with a finger floating in it.

The bank lady instantly recoiled in disgust and wiped her eyes furiously, as if that would help her unsee the severed finger. It was a gory sight since the finger was 'fresh' and still had blood coming out of its severed end.

This was a common thing for many hitmen to do.

They would do this so that the government could get DNA evidence of who they killed, and what the person killed had in their system. The blood samples from the finger would be tested, and the finger itself would be cryogenically frozen for future reference.

It was like some sort of data one filled in the hitman industry.

Feng Jiao however, had refused to cut off any fingers, and didn't really need to, since the agency would take the whole body back, or what remained of it.

Dominant alphas couldn't be taken out that easily, so the government would plot elaborate 'accident' scenes with the body to make sure that no one suspected murder.

That was why the boss got angry when Feng Jiao would make a mess of the body.

Creating a car crash scene or a gang fight scene was easy, but scraping up guts from the floor and then putting together a scene was hard. Almost impossible.

There were only so many gas explosions one could create before the public and the gang members got suspicious.

And on top of that, while Feng Jiao had a one hundred percent kill rate, she also had a 30 percent witness rate. That ruined quite a few things.

Luckily technology had advanced far enough for Feng Jiao to simply explode a vial and cause people to forget what they had just seen. But it wasn't like Feng Jiao would do that. The agency had to hunt down her witnesses and do that instead.

But right now the only thing being hunted down was Feng Jiao.

The bank lady was calling the cops.

She obviously hadn't believed anything Ming Lan was saying. And even if she did believe that Ming Lan was a mortician, she definitely didn't believe that Feng Jiao was one.

"Hello, police? We have an ID forgery at counter 3." the grumpy bank lady spit into her phone spitefully, "Yes, bring handcuffs and your detectors. This girl is taking the bank's workers to be a bunch of brainless fools.

"I don't have time for this. You're on your own kiddo." Ming Lan waved her hand and left.

She patted Feng Jiao's head and then spun on her heel and left. Feng Jiao was alone with the mad bank lady and soon a bunch of cops.

She wondered if she should just apologize and leave, but Feng Jiao had too much banking on the money in the card. She couldn't leave just yet, even if she desperately wanted to.

Soon the cops were there, and Feng Jiao stood there, her head hung low and her face clouded. The bank lady was sitting there in pure glee, just waiting for the arrest.

"Show me your ID card please, miss Feng." the cop said respectfully.

Even if this was fraud, that was no reason to be impolite. And if it wasn't fraud, he had just made connections with a government worker. There was no loss in being polite at all.

It was then that Feng Jiao realized that they were going to be scanning her government employee card. That just meant that she had won!

The card was real, even though the occupation was not!

If scanned there was no doubt that she was going to win this. She handed over the card triumphantly to the bank lady's shock.

The bank lady had been waiting for Feng Jiao's downfall, and had been soaking up her misery with great joy. It was surprising to see Feng Jiao's sudden change in expression.

One scan was all it took for the little beep and a green light to appear.

The scanner linked Feng Jiao's ID card barcode to her page in the government employee directory, and successfully found a match.

There was indeed a Feng Jiao who was an accountant with the ID on the card.

There was no doubt that the card was real, and that Feng Jiao was a government employee, even if the circumstances seemed suspicious. Very suspicious.

Feng Jiao was smug. It was done. She had won and the stupid bank lady had no other options but to swallow her pride and listen to what Feng Jiao had to say.

The policemen bowed and then handed Feng Jiao her ID card.

"You're free to go, Miss Feng. Please feel free to complete your transaction here." the policeman said politely, "No one will stop you."
