9 Deal With the Boss, What's the Big Deal?

"You? Want to go to school? You want to go to school? You? HA haa ha ha ahah haha haaaaaa" the boss exploded into maniacal laughter, as if he had heard a rare joke that was simply too hilarious.

Feng Jiao frowned, "What, I really do want to go to school!"

The boss had never heard anything that made less sense. Feng Jiao wanting to go to school? It could only be some sort of joke. A prank perhaps.

Or, she'd gone so crazy out of boredom that she had lost her mind.

That was completely plausible too. Feng Jiao's attention span was the envy of goldfishes.

Perhaps she had decided that school was better than sitting in her room with nothing to do? That was also unlikely, since in school she still wouldn't have anything to do.

"Tell me a better joke." said the boss seriously.

He didn't for one second believe that Feng Jiao wanted to go to school. Forget about wanting to go to school to study, he knew that there was no way she wanted to go to school at all. Thus he was taking this a little too casually, and completely ignoring Feng Jiao's protests.

"Are you really going to deny this child an education?" begged Feng Jiao, "How am I going to grow up to be a responsible adult without ever going to school. Isn't this child abuse?"

Feng Jiao really protested as much as she could. Her desperation was showing in her voice. It was obvious that if she wasn't let out, she was going to either start a revolution or have a mental breakdown, whichever came first.

"You're not a child anymore. You turn eighteen in a few months. You graduate from school in a few months. You must be the most overgrown child in history if I had to call you a child." the boss ranted for a few seconds, taking out all his frustrations from his job and a certain young girl's pranks out on Feng Jiao.

It was completely deserved.

Feng Jiao was the cause of the boss's balding after all. It was her special skill.

Sure, she had a one hundred percent kill rate, but she also had a one hundred percent 'make the boss stressed out' rate. Between the two the boss had found the sweet spot of only sending her out for VIP missions so that she had less chances to cause trouble.

"I'm a child at heart." Feng Jiao whined, "If you let me go to school I'll tell you something that you should know~~"

Feng Jiao's second route was bribery.

If she gave the boss some information that he needed, he would most definitely let her off the hook for some time at least. It was the rule of life.

The boss was easily tempted at that. As a government employee it wasn't like his salary was that great. The arms dealers probably earned more from one shipment than what the boss earned in a month. It was a sad life.

On top of that, the boss had a fatal weakness for gossip. He loved gossip. It brought life to his dull life that mostly consisted of sitting around at his desk, and cleaning up messes that Feng Jiao made.

And this information was definitely going to be something of that sort.

"What will you tell me?" asked the boss eagerly.

"If I tell you, will it even be a surprise anymore?" Feng Jiao scratched her head and snickered. The boss wasn't going to fool her that easily. He at least needed to try to extract the information from her.

"Fine, fine. You can go to school tomorrow. Tell me what the thing I should know is. You've made me curious. I'll be curious all night if you don't say it." the boss finally gave in and asked.

"Promise you won't get mad." Feng Jiao was too smart to allow the boss to get angry at her. She needed to absolve all responsibility before risking anything.

The boss sighed and gave in, there was nothing else for him to do either way, "Fine, I won't get mad. I promise."

Feng Jiao let out a little giggle and the boss knew that whatever she was going to say could only be bad news. But when had Feng Jiao ever given him good news?

Well, reporting confirmation of successfully taking down a target was good news, but she always topped it up with bad news.

'I blew him up in front of eight year olds.'

'His blood stain is on the mona lisa. How do I get it off?'

'His henchman took over instantly so I killed him too. The henchman's henchman took over so I killed him too. The henchman's henchman's henchman took over so I killed him too. The henchman's henchman's henchman's henchman took over so I killed him too.'

'I lost the body.'

'I'm lost with the body.'

'I took out an extra one for fun.'

'I brought down a part of the government by accident.'

The list just went on and on. However, the boss wasn't thinking of that at the moment. He was thinking of the juicy gossip he had been promised. He was also thinking of having hotpot for dinner. He was also thinking of taking a nap.

That was the only reason why the boss hadn't realized all the red flags just yet.

"You know the man I almost blew up today morning?" Feng Jiao started off slow and steady with the right pace for a suspense filled movie. It was her signature move. Stretch it out so that the boss is distracted.

"Yes? Kong Xiulan said she handled it."

Feng Jiao let out a little giggle. This meant that Kong Xiulan was going to get into trouble with her if they got into trouble at all. This was good news.

"Well, he. He's standing right outside of the building. I don't know why. Perhaps you should go ask him?" Feng Jiao chuckled.
