Chapter 15
We reached the edge of Blood Moon's territory a little while later my nerves increasing the closer we got. Lucian interlaces his fingers with mine and gives them a comforting squeeze.
'It's going to be okay, I promise I'll win the fight then destroy the vampire king and everything will work out.' Lucian sends over the mate bond. I glance up at him and give him a small nervous smile. A patrol of all wolves approaches their side of the border and leads us to the middle of the territory. My hands started shaking and it felt like I was hyperventilating the furth the territory we got. I knew I'd see them, I just knew it. An alpha challenge didn't happen often and when they did the entire pack came out to watch. We reached the center of the territory and sure enough, my dad, stepmother, sister, and stepbrother are standing near the front just behind Alpha Marcus. An audible gulp escapes me and Lucian tightens his grip on my hand for support. Lucian scans the crowd and his eyes land on my old family. My dad's eyes widen when he sees me holding hands with Lucian, while the other three send me death glares. If looks could kill I'd have been killed three different times, in three different ways already. The glares stopped when Marcus spoke.
"So either you're here for Mary, or my status, or both." Marcus growls at Lucian his voice barely human. He was on the verge of shifting and they haven't even agreed on the fight.
"Both works for me. While we're at it. When I beat you, the May family and his stepson will be banished and I will make sure NO pack will ever take them in again." Lucian growls his voice barely human, I could feel his hands trying shift his fingers shortening slightly claws extending out. My family's jaws dropped, my father stepped forward.
"How is that fair? What did we ever do to you?" my father shouts at Lucian, this enrages him and Lucian snarls at him a very wolfish sound.
"Your family terriorized and traumatized, not to mention scarred my mate," Lucian's voice was losing more and more of his human voice, "Look at her wrist for fuck's sake!" he holds my left wrist up displaying my scar in all its glory.
"Your MATE chained Ella up in your garage by SILVER and left her there ALL DAY!" by the time Lucian stopped speaking he had fully shifted, he was ready to kill. Marcus shifted seconds after and lunges at Lucian. Lucian was faster, he dodges and slips underneath Marcus kicking his hindlegs up Lucian launches Marcus across the battle field. Onlookers had to jump back just to avoid being hit by Marcus. Marcus climbs to his paws slower than expected and you could hear him breathing heavily from across the circle. Lucian had knocked the wind out of him and he was still recovering. Marcus' lip curls up into a snarl as Lucian lunges at him. He knocks him off his feet and his on top of me shredding his chest fur with his front claws. Marcus' hind paws flail around frantically his claws caught Lucian's side and deep gashes were left, crimson blood dripping down Lucian's side. It didn't seem to slow him down though because the next second Lucian's jaws are wrapped around Marcus' throat and an audible crunch is heard before Lucian's muzzle pulls away a huge chunks of Marcus' throat dangling from his jaws. Stunned silence hangs over the crowd like a blanket. Lucian drops the flesh from his mouth and lifts his head and lets out the loudest howl I'd ever heard. His howl caused almost everyone around to shift on command and howl back. I glance to my old family just in time to see them trying to push their way out of the crowd to escape. Snarling I sprint in front of their path causing them to stop in their tracks. I spot Lucian stalking up behind them growling deeply my stepmother whips around frantically looking for an escape route. Mary and Arthur step out also in wolf form surrounding them on either side.
"Ella please. Just let us go we accept the banishment we just want to gather our stuff before leaving." my father begs me as I glance to Lucian.
'No. They can leave the territory now. No belongings they don't deserve that luxury and only your dad, sister, and stepbrother may go. Your stepmother has a different fate.' Lucian mind links to me and I nod once in acknowledgement. Shifting back to my human form someone from the crowd runs me some shorts and a shirt to throw on. After I slip them on I cross my arms and glare at what was supposed to be my family.
"Lucian said you guys may leave the territory now with only the clothes on your backs. No belongings, his other condition is you, June, and Riley may leave. Margot has to stay to and answer for her crimes. Be happy Lucian is letting you leave with them at all. If I was the alpha I'd kill you all right now. I know you weren't there for the abuse, but you turned your head and looked the other way. You DIDN'T care." I growl fur spurting down my arms again. June's eyes widen and fear etches into all of her features my dad looks at Margot giving her a brief hug and kiss to the cheek he takes June's hand and they disappear into the trees to the East with Riley following behind them.
"I'm glad I did what I did. I succeeded in making you feel so worthless and stupid that you left like a pathetic wimp." Lucian growls at her statement and lungs, he knocks her off her feet and she falls face first into the dirt.
"Take her to the middle of the territory I want everyone to see this." Turning away from them I race to my old house and into the garage. Grabbing the rubber gloves I slip them on and grab the silver chain Margot used to chain me to the wall. I slip out of the house and head back to the center. Lucian, Mary, and Arthur had her cornered against a building when I got there.
"Take her to the telephone pole over there," I wave to the pole standing right next to the building she was cornered at. They herd her to it and I grab both her wrists and yank them behind her back and around the pole. A yelp of pain slipped through her lips as I clasp her wrists in one of my hands. Taking the chain I wrap it around her wrists tight enough that I see it digging it into her flesh. A scream of pain erupts from her as I tighten the chains. Stepping in front of her I glare.
"Keep screaming and I'll give you something to scream about." I spat at her using the same words she's used before. She glares down at me pain still etched in her brow.
"You can't do anything to me to kill me. You'd kill your dad in the process and that'd be considered treason." she smirks at me like she's the smartest person in the world.
"I don't care. You could all burn and I wouldn't bat an eye. He stopped being my dad the day he met you." I spit just as I hear Lucian shifting back. Someone runs him some basketball shorts and a t-shirt before he steps in front of her.
"As alpha of both this pack and Silver Moon's I sentence you to death. For treason, violation of pack code, and treachery." Lucian growls I step inside the building behind us and step back out with a gas can.
"You shall be executed by fire. Like I said before I'd be happy to see you all burn." I lock eyes with her and panic and fear spikes behind her eyes before she has to look away not being able to make eye contact with me anymore. Dumping the can over her head letting every last drop fall onto her I step back and Lucian lights the match. I watch on as all of my past fears, trauma, and nightmare erupts into flames and screams of agony.
