Chapter 10

I crack my eyes open and bright fluorescent lights filter into my view. That same annoying beeping infiltrates my eardrums and I groan.

"Shut it off," I grumble trying to roll over onto my side. Fully opening my eyes, all drowsiness is gone, and sitting in the chair beside me isn't Lucian. Mary is fast asleep in the chair beside me and my jaw drops, it can't be. If she's here that means I'm not on Silver Moon's territory, I'm on Blood Moon's. No, no, no, no I can't be back here I'd rather be with the vampires. I can't be here, I can't. Panicking I rip the IV drip out of my arm, not caring I'm only in a hospital gown I run. Out of the hospital room, and down the hallway. Stopping only when I recognize Sylvia tapping away on a nurse's computer.

"Sylvia?" I ask, breaking her trance from the computer and she raises her big round eyes to me.

"Ella! Oh my god, how are you feeling? Are you okay?" Sylvia rushes the questions as she steps around the nurse's desk and throws her arms around me.

"Sylvia, am I on Silver Moon territory?" I ask, staring at her dumbly not sure what the answer will be.

"Of course you are, where else would you be?" she asks, looking at me oddly, reaching her hand up she feels my forehead for a fever, "Are you really feeling okay?" her nurse mode kicked in and I knew she was gonna be a really good friend to me.

"I'm okay, I just, I just saw my best friend from Blood Moon Pack and thought I was back there and not here," I mumble glancing back towards my hospital room.

"She was brought here last night. Lucian retrieved her to help locate you since she knew you best. She'd be able to help locate you." her eyes brightened and a mischievous grin played on her lips, "I also heard her mate is in our pack." my jaw drops to the floor at her words.

"Her what?" I ask prying for more information, before she can answer someone from behind wraps their arms around me tight. My eyes widening and fear spiking for a split second until Mary's familiar scent washes over me enveloping me in a comforting smell hug. Tears well up in my eyes as I turn in her arms and tighten the hug.

"Oh my god I've missed you so much! Are you okay? Did they hurt you? Who do I need to murder? When were you gonna tell me you found your mate? You need to tell me everything!" Mary gushes out one question out of the other.

"One question at a time please, I didn't get the chance to tell you because the day I fully understood I was taken. I'm okay, flashbacks haunted me the entire time I was taken. I now have matching scars," letting go of Mary I hold up my wrists showing her the blood-crusted red rings around each wrist, still raw and healing, "The person that's responsible will cause an even worse war if killed. It was the king of the vampires, I'm not sure why or what they plan on doing, but he's responsible." I finish my explanation and her eyes widen, jaw-dropping slightly.

"But, enough about me. Your mate is here? Who is it? Will I approve?" I inquired, eyeing her devilishly. Her concerned look vanishes and a giant grin spread to her ears.

"His name is Arthur, turns out he's the next beta of this pack. He's gorgeous and super funny and makes me happy." she gushes her cheeks flushing pink as she keeps going on about Arthur. I can't help but smile as she keeps talking. I've missed her tons and I was glad she was here. Just as I was going to ask another question, his smell overrules Mary's and I whip around looking for those striking sky blue eyes. There standing at the end of the hallway at the entrance of the hospital Lucian was standing there in all his handsome glory. Smiling, I squirm out of Mary's arms and sprint into his. This was the first real physical contact we've had, but I needed it, I needed him. Wrapping my arms around his waist I hold him tightly. Electricity shot through every ounce of my body that touched him, his soothing heartbeat drumming in my ears. He ran his hands through my hair and kissed the top of my head gently.

"I missed you, are you okay?" he whispers into my ears, his voice was like honey compared to the vampires. All my fear and agony seemed to just float off my shoulders at his words.

"I'm okay now I'm exactly where I need to be," I murmur just drinking in his scent. I can feel his cheeks rise as he smiles, his arms tightening against me.

"We will get who took you and they will pay for what they did," he pulled away, pulling up my wrists and rubbing his thumbs against the scars. A quiet sigh escapes his lips as he pulls them to his lips and kisses them softly.

"I'm okay, I promise," I murmur softly to him, I look up into his striking sky blue eyes. He goes to open his mouth when a blaring alarm goes off over the entire territory. We were under attack, again and this time they were on the territory searching for blood.
