Chapter Twenty-Two

“I thought you were out of town?” She said, that being the very first thing that crossed her mind. And oh how badly she wanted it to be so.

The last thing she needed was her last creeping up on her at a time when she was desperately trying to build her future… or dwell on the present, at the very least,

“I just got back. Fancy seeing you here. You were never the park type.”

Because you never would come here with me, she thought. But kept her thoughts to herself,

“Oh well.” She said quietly and everywhere was silent.

“Would you like to introduce me to your new friend?“ the way he said the friend had her looking at Alexander, and then back at Nathaniel.

“Where are my manners? Nathaniel, this is Alexander. Alexander, this is Nathaniel. My ex-boyfriend.”
