Chapter Thirty-Three
She held on to her cousin’s words when she finally turned in for the night. Had long given up on the hope of Alexander returning to her that night.
Choosing to only worry when he wasn’t there at dawn and after much inner monologue about whether to go search for him or not, gave up on reason and went to look for him, Dante faithfully at her side,
“Alex!” She called out in a harsh whisper, trusting he would hear her regardless,
“What’s all this?” He said from behind her and made her jump. He placed a hand on her shoulders to steady her as she worked to even out her breathing,
“I was looking for you.”
