1 Chapter 1 Hopeful Heiress

The air was filled with loud claps from people surrounding the arena. They were obviously thrilled by the trickster performance.

The trickster bowed to the crowd turning to all sides and walked out of the arena quickly.

The Mighty King stood up. He wanted to address the crowd. The whole place that was just noisy was consumed by silence.

"I welcome you all to this years founder celebration" he spoke clearly with his loud booming voice.

"I hope you have been enjoying every bit of it. In fact, I, myself, I'm thrilled by this outstanding performance" he chuckled while he looked back at those that were seated beside him.

Wendy breathed heavily. She was nervous. She knew the time was near when her father would introduce her new position to the crowd.

"Like I told you, this year's celebration is special. I hereby present to all the citizens of the three towns that constitute our Mighty Kingdom, the heir to the throne" he waved at Wendy to come forward.

Wendy rose up. Her long legs that made her tower above everyone she came across was shaking. It seemed her tiny body had become heavy for them.

The flowing floral dress she put on was not helping the situation. It had made her become heavier than thrice the weight of her slim body.

She walked slowly to her father's side. She would have been the same height with her father but he towered above as he was standing on a platform.

"On your knees" he instructed.

Wendy knelt down slowly.

The Mighty King stretched out his hand and someone slowly gave him a crown. He put the crown on Wendy's head and drew out a sword. He touched the crown with the tip of the sword.

"I hereby pronounce you in presence of all the inhabitants of this kingdom, the heir to the Mighty Throne" he said and sheathed back the sword.

Some of the crowds mumbled but the mumbles couldn't last long as it was consumed by loud clapping.

"Why the hell are you clapping?" a voice roared and it was audible despite the claps and cheering noises.

"Is this a joke?" the voice queried again and the noise died down. Butcher, a fairly old man rose up. He was the one that had been speaking.

"So no one is going to say anything?" he looked round. Butcher was a leader of one of the three towns that constituted the Mighty Kingdom. He was the imperial leader of Tandor Pass.

"Do you have something against what we are doing here?" the Mighty king asked calmly.

"Of course. That is a girl you are crowning as the heir to the throne and all these people kept mute. But I, Butcher, I won't" he complained.

"I am crowning a girl,I still don't understand what you are trying to say. Is she not suitable for the position or you have forgotten that Wendy is my daughter" the Mighty king accompanied his words with giggles but Butcher was not ready for jokes.

"I know she is your daughter. What I am saying, that you obviously know. She is a woman and can never become the Mighty King" he breathed heavily with anger.

"Yes, actually we are going to be calling her the Mighty Queen" the Mighty King chuckled.

"You can not make an ordinary woman a king on us" Butcher was not calming down. He seemed ready for a war.

"Can you tell me why a woman is not fit to rule you?" the Mighty king asked and stared dead at him.

"Your Majesty, you are just being selfish. There had been a king in history that had only a daughter just like you beget Wendy. He picked a suitable man to rule after him" Butcher looked round again. It seemed he had been expecting to have supporters by now but no one intervened.

"King Senin didn't see his daughter as a ruler. But I checked and found everything needed to rule the Mighty Kingdom in Wendy. So whether you like it or not. This is your next King in line, or Queen. Whatever you choose to call her. She rules once I'm out of here" The Mighty king concluded. He obviously wouldn't entertain any words from him again.

"Are you all not going to say anything, Marcus, Trevor? Is this how you are going to keep watching?" Butcher challenged the other leaders.

"Our King has spoken. It will be foolishness to question his authority" Marcus the imperial leader of Gandor moaned. "Or, does Trevor think otherwise?" he asked.

"Otherwise?" Trevor chuckled. "The Mighty king, on behalf of all the people of Mandor. Your decision is the best as it has always been the best. We are behind the heiress with full support" Trevor clapped while some of the crowd joined him.

"I won't remain here and witness this rubbish" Butcher panted. He scampered away through the arena.

"Do not mind him, your Majesty. He is still coming back to apologize" Marcus joked and everyone laughed.

"Arise Wendy. These are your people" the Mighty king pulled her up and pushed her forward lightly.

Wendy bowed slightly. She looked up and turned round in all directions. She was nervous but she did a good job to hide it. Butcher's confrontation had also affected her mood.

"All hail the Mighty heiress" Trevor yelled.

"Wendy! Wendy!! Wendy!!!" the crowd chorused loudly.

********************************

"See what I got" Zander threw down the basket he was carrying. He was expecting his father and brother to rush out on hearing his voice. But they didn't.

Zander grew suspicious. They would have showed unless they were not inside the house.

"Father, Nander!" he screamed on top of his voice as he went inside. He came back outside as he couldn't see them inside.

"Where are you?!" he asked without seeing them.

They were the only one living in this sole farmhouse in the middle of the forest. The forest no one would dare enter but them, the family of the Wizards.

This was the only place they could live.

He saw some footprints heading away from the house. He followed it until he arrived at a large space. It seemed something has cleared the area and had uprooted the trees around there.

He was still in awe of what could have happened there when his father and Nander landed at his feet with a loud thud.

"What are you doing, Father?" Zander couldn't understand what they were up to.

"Where the hell have you been?" Nander cried and ran to hide behind him.

"It is a great relief that you decide to be here before we lose our lives" his father panted.

"Lose your lives?" Zander asked in confusion.

"Yes" his father pointed to a direction.

"What!!" Zander covered his mouth with both hands. It was a demon that had been fighting with his father and brother. He was very surprised not because he saw a demon but this was the biggest demon he had ever seen

"Why is it big like this?" Zander wondered. It was almost ten times the one he had been seeing previously.

"My son. That is Kulda. The King of the demons" he whistled probably to attract the attention of the demon.

"But you said you have killed him before building the house" Zander remembered how his father always talked about how he had killed him.

"I thought so. It seems the idiot doesn't know how to stay dead" he shook his head.

"But you always boasted how you made him beg for his life" Zander was still very confused.

"Actually, I think that is not the most relevant right now. What I need you to do now is that as you are present. You can just do us the favor of sending this monster out of this world" he pointed at the demon that was now approaching them.

"Let's just run away. We can't fight this thing" Nander was crying.

"No, stop crying. Nander. We will kill it" he slowly moved away from Nander and walked towards the demon.

"I want you to get out of here right now or I kill you" Zander warned the demon.

"Get out of here? After you destroyed all that belonged to me" the demon said with heavy, rigorous voice. He was really sounding like he looked.

He rose up to stand on two feet. He was quite ginormous. The horn on his head seemed to be touching the sky. He shielded Zander from the sun and the weather seemed darker than it was supposed to be.

"You have overstepped your bounds by bringing your people to this realm. Go back and continue your life" Zander insisted

The demon groaned. He moved forward ignoring Zander.

Zander closed his eyes and stretch his hand forth.

The demon wanted to move but it couldn't. He groaned hard but still couldn't move an inch forward.

"For the last time, go away and never come back here. You are not meant to live within this realm" he warned him again.

"I will kill you!" the demon threatened.

Zander flung his hands towards the demon. He flew away and landed on his back. His ginormous body made a loud thud on the ground.

Zander climbed over to his head. He raised up his hand and a dagger appeared between his fist.

He slaughtered the demon until his head was off from his body. He carried the head and walked back to his father and brother. She threw the head down in front of them.

Kander knelt before his son. He bowed his head.

"Stand up father!" he rushed to him to pull him up.

"Nander, kneel before your brother" he instructed his other son.

"Father, just stand up. We shouldn't be kneeling in front of Zander" Nander argued.

"He is not just your brother. He is the reincarnated Wizard of the Millenia" he retorted sternly with hot air escaping from his mouth, nose and ear.

"I am your son. I am not Millenia or whatsoever you used to call that" Zander finally dragged him to stand on his feet.

"No you are the god of the Wizard that comes to this world once every thousand years" Kander seemed like he would never stop talking about this.

"The god of the wizard that goes hungry every now and then" Zander replied to disclaim. "Anyway, I've gotten some carrots. Let's go and get it done" he would never believed his father no matter how many times he kept talking about him being the god of Wizard.

"No, you always come for a reason, and I know there is a reason why you have come through me" Kander continued. He would always have something to say.

"Yes, I come for a reason. I am back after a thousand years to scavenge carrots to eat so that air won't blow us away when we are on empty bellies" he said sarcastically and laughed.

Kander and Nander joined him to laugh.

"You are laughing now?" he was not expecting his father to laugh at his jokes.

"Who am I to keep mute when the god of Wizard is laughing?" he said and continued laughing.

"Wait, can I possibly be a god without knowing it" Zander kept finding it unbelievable no matter how hard he tried to think about it.

"You are, and you will know when the time comes" Kander buttressed.

Zander knew he was not any god. He was just lucky to be more powerful than his father and brother combined together in ten folds.

"I wish I will not be killed by hunger before this your so much announced time comes" he held his brother hand and they walked back home.

After walking a while, he looked after he couldn't hear his father footsteps behind them. His father had went back to the demon and took the severed head.

"What is that for, father?" he asked in amazement.

"Souvenir of war" he raised up the head happily.
