Chapter 18: Finding A Place To Stay

The trio were able to enter the town easily, they did receive some strange stares and also got searched very thouroghly, as the guards also found their dressing very strange.

After getting into the town, the first thing they did was look for an inn or a place to stay and pass the might as they noticed that the sun was already setting.

It was also not an easy thing as the inns they visited did not even bat an eye as they chased these strangely dressed man and his companions away, one was even shameless to demand that Iris sleep with him, he of course was met with a punch to his face and a look of disgust from the person that punched him.

They had eventually visited all the inns in the town as they numbered only five, their next options were the taverns, since some taverns also had accomodations.

The first tavern they visited was called the flying fish and was said to be the cleanest tavern as it mostly served the adventurers that had deep pockets and were ready to empty those deep pockets.

Doron and his group did not really understand how the currency of this world worked as when they gave the guards the silver coin, he gave them seventy bronze coins as change and looked at them like they were very rich, he saw how the guard looked at them with some suspicion.

Doron deduced that holding a silver coin showed that one had money and was ready to spend it. That is if the guards and that adventurer group did not cheat him.

'I would just have to steal then, with my physical strenght at this point, I have the power to fight at least six of those guards, unless they have some people more powerful hidden in this town.'

During their inn hunt, they had of course questioned some 'kind' hearted people who told them a bit about the place they were about to stay in.

The Azron town was known as a resting town, or a hotel town, as most houses here were mostly made and later turned into inns and taverns, and then later, some poeple decided to buy some of these hotels and taverns and made them their homes, now it was a market, resting, entertainment and gambling town.

The layout of the town was not really complicated. It was made in a kind of layered form. The outer layer was where the inns, taverns and market were, the inner layer was where the inhabitants of the town stayed, including the mayor of the town and his family.

It had about 5,000 people living in the town as towns were graded by their population. Azron town was bronze tier town, and a silver tiered town was a town with about 15,000 people.

As they enterd the flying fish, the rowdy and noisy tavern suddenly became quiet as they looked at the new comers with interest as all the men in the tavern saw the fine and beautiful looking girls, following behind the gigolo looking man that looked like someone that lived of women all his life.

Doron scanned the faces of the people present and sneered in his heart, for some reason, these men were not as strong as he thought they would be.

He and group went towards the bartender of the tavern and asked for a room.

"A room here is 20 bronze coins for three says, 15 for two and 10 for one day" The bartender said in a grumpy tone, he looked like a man in late forties and even hade a scar across his left eye.

"Okay" Doron then took out about 50 bronze coins and placed them on the table. "we will be here for a week."

"Food is not included" The bartender said as he counted the money and handed them a key. "Room 6".

"Thank you." Doron said as he went towards the stairs beside the bartenders station.

The first floor of the tavern was the bar and dinning area, and the second floor was the lodging area with about four rooms, facing each other.

They located their room and entered and Patra could not help wrinkling her nose in disgust.

The room was extremely dirty, molds were already growing on the bed, and in other sides of the room, there was a very pungent and unpleasant smell in the room that made one want to flee in disgust.

The room was not really that spacious as it had a wardrobe, a bed that could hold about two people, even three if they don't mind squeezing in and there was even a dressing mirror and stool, aside from that, nothing else as the windows did not even have any curtains, so anyone who is tall enough, with sharp eyes could at least gaze into the room with no problem at all.

"Am not doing this shit anymore, am gonna rob some people" Doron suddenly said as he looked at the room.

If it were before, something like this would not make him flinch, but after awakening part of his true self, he could not bare sleepingin this place.

'If I find that sleezy iold man again, am gonna kill him, cleanest my foot, maybe to you it is'. Doron thought.

"Sure, but before that, you should at least know what is happening here before you go and get yourself killed or something" Iris said as she sat down on the dressing stool.

Doron and Patra both went for the moldy bed.

"So this is the thing, for some reason, my superiors decided that you should get stronger, and what better way than to send us to another world that could help you get stronger, unlike earth that those not really have any form of energy at all to help you" Iris slowly explained, looking straight at Doron. "I don't know what this world is about, and I don't know how it functions, but my superiors are not telling me something, and I hope you can make it clear to me."

Doron looked at Iris for some minutes and opened his mouth.

"Am sure you already know who I am right?" Doron asked, to which Iris nodded. "Then this will make my explanation easy then."

"The thing is, I was sent to earth to save the world tree by being the world tree of negativity for it and absorb all the negative emotions of the creatures, well that is what the lady in balck said" Doron shrugged. "And for some reason, I just woke up surrounded by black water and some memories flooded my brain making me know that my name was Doron, but after that I woke up again and saw myself in what looked like a colorles world"

"Then I saw a woman who told me that I should save the galaxy of earth and some other stuff"

"Hmmm" Iris pondered over what she heard. It seemed that something happened to Doron on his way to earth and he had to regress back to a human body and be bound by the laws of mortals to either escape or recuperate from some kind of injury. The memory loss was easy, for beings like Doron, a day for them is like thousand years for a mortal, so having only a 'day' memory of Doron was just plain suicide.

Patra on the side was as quiet as ever as she was also shocked toknow that Doron was that important, that even beings that stood atop the ladder of the universe had to do his bidding.

"We will talk about this later, right now, what we need is information about this world and money, because with money, we can at least have some leeway in some things." Iris said. "And also Doron"

"Yeah?"

Iris raised her hand to show him a lotus flower that for some reason looked like those matrix numbers as it seemed to be made out of ones and zeros.

"This is a system that my superiors gave me to give to you, remember, it only works on this world, aside from here nowhere else." Iris said in a solemn tone, making sure that Doron understood the gravity of what she was giving him.

"Make sure that this system is pu--..."

She did not know when. or how, but for some reason, the system lotus was in Doron's hand, and it was entering his mouth as a pill, he was swallowing it, he started convulsing on the moldy floor, and Patra who was seeing this for the first time panicked.

Iris was looking at all of this with a confused look. All of this happened in mere seconds and how Doron was able to move so fast was really shocking.

After what seemed like forever, Doron finally stopped convulsing on the floor and Patra was able to calm down.

Doron on the other hand was smilling foolishly, as he stared at the empty space infront of him.

Doron did not know why, but his body had moved on it's own when he heard system.

'I guess this body was still not fully in my control' Doron thought as he looked at the system texts as he looked up at the ceiling of the room they were in.

"Are you okay?" Patra asked as she looked at Doron with worry in her gaze.

"Just leave him alone" Iris said as she looked at Doron with a constipated look, like she was fighting with something. "You got the system right?"

Doron just nodded as he was still feeling like his body was made out of lead.

"Okay, let's just go ahead and look for a way to get some info about this world" Iris said as she went back to her seat. "Next time, don't do something like that, some flowers can kill you"

Doron just smiled as he looked at her, making Iris feel like slaping him to death, unknown to her, Doron was looking at the top of her head.
