Battle begins. The desperate three.

"What about the parking lot?" Ashton whispered as he worriedly looked at Matt.

"This is what I am most worried about. Good thing there is no electricity in the mall. Even if they came through a parking lot, we would still have a chance, not as much, but we still would."

"They will have to take the stairs to come here. There is no other way for them to come. Get ready, they are here. Just shoot whoever you see. Don't worry about anything else." Matt gave the command as he also got ready to shoot.

Again, Sam and Ashton just nodded their heads. Now they all were wearing night-vision goggles. They could see everything clearly.

Thud. Thud. Thump. Thump. Thud. Thud. Thump. Thump.

Awakens came running and hit the door with a thud. Not minding if any of them died in between. There were too many of them, as together they hit the door.

Crunch. Crunch. Kachak. Boom.

The door got blasted as more pressure fell on the door and with a boom, all the awakens fell.

"FIRE!!!" Matt yelled. And without wasting any time all three fired their guns.

Shoot. Shoot. Shoot. Shoot. Shoot.

Every time Ashton pressed the trigger, someone fell. Every time Sam pressed the trigger, someone got hit. Every time Matt pressed the trigger, the other awakens got blocked.

But that was until the awakens were fallen. Once they got up, everything changed.

"GRAAAAAAAAA." They growled as they looked towards the fifth floor from where the bullets were coming and they started running towards the stairs.

"THEY ARE COMING! DON'T STOP AND SHOOT!! IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT HITS OR NOT!!! JUST SHOOT!!!!" Matt yelled as he sniped as many awaken as he could.

Within 30 seconds, more than 100 awakens fall. But looking at the number of awakens, it felt like a drop in the water.

One of the awakens, who was in the center, and bigger than the others, looked at the three morons who were continuously firing and trying to kill its people.

It smirked and growled "GRAAAAAAAA....."

Its smirk was quite real. Nearly like humans. Unlike other awakens its body wasn't falling apart. Its skull was harder than steel. Even when the bullets hit its head, they just made some klink noises and that's it.

Its body was twice as big as other humans. It was nearly 3 meters long. Its body was far more bulky than the others. But it didn't do anything as it just stood even when the bullets hit it, and then it growled.

And everything changed.

Awakens, who were at the center pulled the ones at the front and started to use them as a shield.

"FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! I CAN'T SHOOT THEM!!!" Ashton yelled as he looked at the awakens in anger. They were using their own as a shield. Although the dead ones, but still. That was inhumane.

"SAM! EXPLOSIVE!! NOW!!!" Matt, who was ready for any situation, yelled.

Sam, without any hesitation, pulled out a hand grenade, pulled its safety lever out, and threw it at the center of the awakens.

BOOM!!!

"AHS FIRE! SAM MORE EXPLOSIVES!!" Matt yelled.

Sam and Ash didn't need Matt to tell them anymore as they both started firing and throwing explosives.

SHOOT. SHOOT. SHOOT. BOOM. SHOOT. SHOOT. SHOOT. BOOM.

"GRAAAAAAAAA.... GRAAAAAAAAAAAAA...….. GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...." The awakens at the center growled as they saw their numbers dwindle.

Especially the one that was bigger than the others. It again looked at the three stupid humans with anger and growled "GRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAA!!!"

And more awakens entered the mall.

Together.

More than 500. And they all ran towards the stairs.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING SAM!!! THROW MORE EXPLOSIVES!!!" Matt yelled angrily, as he looked at the awakens that were now just 5 meters away from the stairs.

If they started ascending the stairs then getting to the 5th floor won't take long.

Not to say hitting them would also become more difficult. There would be walls covering them. It would be very problematic.

"I AM THROWING AS FAST AS I CAN! BUT IT'S NOT ENOUGH!!" Sam yelled as he continuously threw the explosives at the Awakens.

"TRY STAIRS! BLOW THE STAIRS AWAY!! HURRY!!!" Matt yelled again as he fired continuously.

While Awakens finally got to the stairs and started climbing them but before they could, a loud boom was heard.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!

And with that, the stairs fall.

"GRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" The awakened which was in the middle growled so loudly this time that its growling resounded throughout nearly half of Carin City.

All three pressed their ears as they nearly felt their ears bleeding because of the loud growl.

"GRAAAAAA….. GRAAAAAAAAAAA….. GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...…" Then they heard more loud voices just like the one they heard just now, and then they saw 7 more awakens, just like the middle one entering the mall.

"IGNORE THEM! BLAST THE OTHER STAIRS FIRST!! WE WILL TAKE CARE OF THEM LATER!!! HURRY!!!!" Matt yelled as he stared at the seven awakens, who were starting to slow down.

Sam and Ashton nodded and hurriedly pulled out more explosives and blasted the stairs of the second floor.

"GRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...…" The awakened in the middle angrily growled as he looked at the three idiots, who were making its work difficult.

It just wants to kill them. Couldn't they just let it and be done with all this mess? This was all it wanted.

It turned around and saw its seven companions and nodded. It started going backward and punched the awakens which got in its way and stood with the other seven.

"GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA..." Then all the eight growled together. The noise of their growling was so loud that the mall itself started to shake.

Matt and others again pressed their ears. Now their ears were bleeding but they still didn't use their powers. It wasn't time.

"JUST BLAST THE STAIRS! DO NOT STOP!!" Matt growled, looking at Sam and Ashton, who again paused.

Sam and Ashton again nodded and threw explosives.

BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.

But this time instead of rushing, all the awakens started getting aside. Leaving the stairs that had fallen, making a plain straightway.

"What are they doing?" Ashton whispered as he looked at the awakens who were now instead of trying to climb, were making way for the eight awaknes, and entering the shops in a hurry.

"I don't know," Matt whispered back. He couldn't understand as suddenly the silence descended on the mall.

Nobody fired.

Nobody growled.

Now there stood three humans on the fifth floor and eight 3 meters tall awakens at the entrance.
