1 Prologue

My tragic days all began the moment I took a step inside his office. Its original aesthetic was overshadowed by my boss' depressing state making the room look and feel dull.

"Sir..."

His beautiful eyes focused on the laptop in front of him. The usual cold steel grey eyes held a murderous gaze, one look from it would bring 'if looks could kill' to life.

"Uh--" I knocked on the door again in hopes that it will catch his attention.

"Hm? Can't you see I'm busy?"

To be very honest, I liked his voice more than his looks but damn, when he spoke that sentence I can feel myself dying. It sounded high pitched, scary, psychotic unlike his normal deep voice.

"Yes." It was a reflex! The moment he asked, my vocabulary only consisted of 'Yes'.

I hurriedly ran over his desk and explained the materials I have in my hand. "That's all, sir. I will take my leave."

"Stop!"

Startled, I turned to him with a smile. 'I don't dare to offend a rich man' "Is there anything else you need, sir?"

"You have a house?"

"Of course!"

"Do you live with anyone?"

"I'm all alone."

He suddenly stood and walked in a room that did not seem to be a bathroom. About 5 minutes passed when he walked out of that room. My brows twitched seeing the High and Almighty CEO serving a mere employee a cup of coffee.

"I don't have anything to serve you except coffee." Though I have my doubts, I took the cup out of generosity.

"Sir, if you don't need anything I will have to go back to my desk now."

He leaned at the door frame and pointed, "That coffee, it's not for free." So cunning! I knew it! Boss actually used a coffee to get something from me.

"I'll give it back. My lips haven't touch the rim of the cup." In a haste, I place the cup down his coffee table... except that I missed a couple of centimetres.

"Oh. Won't you look at that. $500 coffee wasted, 24 karat gold mug is broken. Not that expensive, but you have stained the rug sent to me by the Royal Family and you scratched the coffee table that took 10 different woodworkers to please me."

Is my loyalty to this company is being tested? I've been in this company for four years, completely stick to one, that's why I'm here.

I started sweating, my knees felt weak and my mind went blank. My boss had his eyebrows slightly raised and scrunched as if he's genuinely concerned.

"How are you going to pay for that?"

"S-sorry sir. I'm also asking that question myself." I'm penniless right now. Though the minimum wage is high, not that high for my debt-filled life.

"I have proposal."

... and that is how and why my 'harmonious cohabitation life' with my boss started.
