1 THE BEGINNING OF THE END

I was down, feeling dizzy and all I could hear were voices.

"Paul why are you doing this?" says C.Y

"I'm doing it for her" says Paul "I love her very much and I don't want this life for her so i'm going to try everything to save her"

I could feel Erie pulling on my shirt telling me not to close my eyes and Jenny putting pressure on my wound. How did I get here? Why am I bleeding? This is how it all started.

It was on the 14th of February 2018 at 9:53 pm and I was in my room watching "Grown-ish" thinking how my life would have been better off if I had just been born in America, my mum was in the sitting room watching zee world when it happened. I heard a loud bang, at first I thought it was nothing until I saw the blue lights outside and I rushed to the sitting room and saw my mum being sucked into one of the lights and so was my brother. At this point i was confused and thought it was a dream until I tried holding my mum but got zapped by the light and I literally flew across the room and then I went outside to get help when I saw my neighbor Mega (a really cool dude although sometimes stingy with his wifi) running outside nearly butt naked screaming

"Where is my brother?, Who has seen my little brother?"

At this point I knew I wasn't dreaming and could see people being sucked up into blue lights for about four blocks from my house. I even saw c.y's mum being sucked into one of the lights (although she was kinda too fat that I was scared she was gonna fall). I started crying because I remember being told in church every sunday that the "rapture" will one day happen and missing it is worse than death itself.

I knelt down and said in tears "Dear God, I'm sorry, please have mercy on me, I'm sorry for stealing meat from the pot, for lying, for insulting people, for watching porn, please God if you take me to heaven I'd never do these things again please" But nothing happened and at this point I knew I was f**ked and I was soo going to hell. Well I guess you can say I accepted my fate, so I decided to see who else was left on earth with us all but the people I kept seeing were mostly good people, all the party freaks I know were no where to be found, even the guy that sold me weed like 30 mins ago had been sucked up to heaven and I felt that something was definitely wrong so I went back in my house to check the news to see if this is happening all over the world

At this point NEPA don seize light (blackout) so I put on the generator and turned on the TV then I switched the channel to CNN but everything was normal, checked BBC but same thing, even checked Aljazeera but the rest of the world was okay like nothing happened. I went to check outside to be sure I wasn't hallucinating

"Yup, People are still being sucked up" I said

So I decided to go to c.y's house and meet up with him to find out more about what's going on. I got there and could see people running helter skelter, some crying for their baby, some their boyfriend/girlfriend. I met c.y and I could see he was angry (because he got stuck with his annoying little brother)

"What's is going on?" I asked

"I don't know man, my whole family has been sucked up into heaven and I get left behind" said c.y

"And I get stuck with Favour (his little brother)"

"Is this the rapture?" I asked

"Of course it is, what else could be sucking people into the sky"

"I don't think it is"

"Then what is it?"

"That's what we have to find out"

"And how do you expect we do that?"

"I don't know, maybe we can start from the fact that this is only happening in warri!!"

"Wait what?"

"Yeah, I checked the news and everything was normal everywhere else in the world"

"How is that possible? Why would God only take people from warri?"

"I'm not sure this even has anything to do with God because in the Bible he said the righteous will be raptured but the guy that sold me weed got sucked into heaven"

"Maybe weed is righteous"

"No it's not, let's just go and see if we can find anyone else we know"

So we walked to all our friends houses, they were either dead or gone and favour was complaining about being hungry (this one is still here thinking about food) but I had to admit I was a bit hungry tbh. So we saw an abandoned car with the driver dead in the front seat with his head pierced by a long iron rod, so we (me and c.y) tried removing him from the seat and putting him on the ground only to find out that the driver was Papa Akpos (a very stingy man who cares about no one but himself not even own family) and tbh we felt no pity for him and in my mind I was saying "he deserved it". And I think we robbed a dead guy, we took all his cash from his pockets and drove his car away (well since the world is fucked, might as well get fucked with it), so our destination was Delta mall to see if the eateries were still functioning with all this going on.

While driving, we saw c.y's heartthrob jenny walking on the side walk and we pulled over

"Hey Jenny, are you okay? Where's Aaron? (her brother) and your mum and dad?" C.y asked

"My mom and dad got sucked into heaven but Aaron died, he didn't know what was going on" she said "he was too busy jerking off that he didn't notice that the house was collapsing and he got crushed" she said now breaking into tears.

"I'm so sorry to hear that"C.y said now hugging jenny with a smirk on his face because Aaron has been like a hindering force between him and Jenny falling in love but now that he's dead he feels he kinda has a chance

"We're trying to figure out what's going on but favour's hungry so we're driving to the mall to try and get food if you want to come" I said

"I wanna come" said someone from behind

(Okay pause, what I'm about to say is not my fault and isn't intentional)

Without thinking, and due to reflex action I punched the figure behind me and I think it screamed like a girl (because it is a girl, idiot) I look at the figure and find out it's a really cute girl with a broken nose

C.y walked over and said

"Choii, you don kill am?"(Did you kill her)

"I nor know oo" (I don't know) I said panicking and I tried helping her up

"I am so so sorry, I didn't mean to" I said "it was an accident"

"Ouch! My nose, dude really? So you just punch people who accept your proposal for food" she said

"No I don't, I thought you were some monster"

"Do I look like a monster to you?"

"Nope, you don't"

"Of course, I don't!!"

"Uhmm, we were going to the mall to get food, maybe you'd want to come and probably get that nose bleed stopped"

"How do I know you won't punch me again?"

"Trust me, I won't" I said smiling

"We have to go na" said favour "I'm hungry"

"You shut up, even for the end of the world you still dey hungry" said C.y

We all got in the car and off we went to the mall.

The whole city was in chaos. But here we are looking for a way to get food.

And that's how I met the weirdos with whom we are all "probably" going to save warri.
