We Are Grand

When life's got it out for you, never once you take a breath a reprieve. When the Sun seems cold and the Moon even colder, never once should I stay away from the place I call home. Yet, even that may not be enough. Through thick and thin, we suffer the multiverse as we fight, and fight, and fight on until we can find ourselves a place that we can call a home. And a home that can view us as family. Group-SI!

It inched and inched closer to the ground. It appeared slower than a snail but in reality it was faster than one would expect.

They faced the falling meteor with wild abandonment. It was hard to keep a narrow focus, a rational mind and a cunning plan to with towards certain doom. Heh, especially when that doom was advancing towards you at rapid speeds...

"Piel De Daga!" Frantic. She launched her blue weapon straight into the hand. It's job wasn't to stop the descent, taking chunks of flesh from the hand with every single motion it did.

"Atlas Wind of Shadows." Shadows and wind coalesced into solid orbs around his readying fists. His respective elements pooled on the ground under and birthed two giant fists of black and white.

It was an amazing, mythical sight. It was a recreation of what Moji had said before. Atlas holding up the entirety of the sky for all eternity.

In such this instance, the giant black hand that threatened to flatten dozens of buildings and then topple a hundred more was the sky. The Atlas of the story were none other than a human and a human turned an anthro cat.

"This feels like Asura's Wrath all over again..." Monchichi whipped her head around.

Moji answered before Monchichi let out a single syllable. "It's a niche game back at our world... I didn't finish it unfortunately..."

"That's nyot important right nyow." She deadpanned.

Boom.

Each finger, the size of football fields, crushed the area around them and the palm itself was mere meters away from spilling their blood, splashing their guts on the floor.

It was an atomic, nuclear sight. The land was cracked and sundered. Dust was lifted and rocketed towards the buildings that weren't instantly crushed by the falling black hand-shaped meteor.

Did I say a hundred homes would have been swept away by the storming, sweeping motion of fast-moving dust? Well, it seemed that I couldn't math just right.

It was closer to a thousand. People forgot how fragile buildings could be in a battlefield of superhumans, especially so if the combatants included a giant having it's hand dwarfing entire football fields and matched the force that it's looks should have had.

"Shit... It's here..." Godu dug both of his hands into the ground, holding on for it for dear life.

He didn't have any problems crash-landing against rubble but his friends couldn't. They were together now. They weren't going to get separated again damn it.

"Waaaahhh!!!" Joff screamed as he lost control of where of his body and mind. Left? No, that was down. Right? Yes, at least he thought so.

"Phew... We got the shields up in time..." Feo breathlessly released from her mouth, pushing with both hands with her ninja control against the horizontal hurricane.

With Feo's support, Fritz was able to hold to her staff. "This... Is... Ahhhhhh!" It was clear that if it weren't for their efforts, they would have been buried alive.

She grasped that staff like a metal clasp. Her fist were airtight and her teeth were cracking even moreso. It bled and went down like drool.

"Eugh!"

"Wohoho, we're already trying to get killed by Zeus it seems."

Both reacted in different ways to the advancing wall. One braced for impact and ducked for cover in a nearby alley of a building.

One danced against the storm and challenged it to move him an inch. If he had a flag right now, it would be as clear as day what he would do with it.

And after all the dust and debris when past the farthest away from ground zero, the hand merely hung above the two beings, one anthro and one human.

"Hrukh!!!" He grunted as he charged both elements with steroids. It bulged under it's own power and gave the titanic hand a push back.

And when he exploded his temporary hands, it brought more than a simple push back. It's force was a launch back to the sender.

He jumped as Monchichi's flew in the wind. She held on for hope as Moji's ascent made them manage to see whatever beast from Hell had hands that size.

And he regretted that decision almost as soon as he ascended. "Hoh, isn't that the giant creatures from Greek... I don't think a Hekatonkheires looks like that though..."

"Nyew. What is nyat?" She vomited her words out.

"Haha! Great Beast! Our battle shall be legendary!" Sorin got serious. He smiled as the shine of his blade shone through the withered mist.

That Great Beast was almost a kilometer long. It was also three hundred meter high. Wait, by this description, it could be reasoned with that this Crawler was what it name had loudly implied it to be?

Indeed it was. Crawler had more of a hard, gelatinous black body rather than a solid one. For those people who were in the back, it was a slime without the dangerous instant-melting acid.

It's face was hidden away inside of an opening it's body manufactured. While you can't see its face, what you could see was the gray lights that acted as it's eyes stared into your soul.

And all around it's body was hands. There were lots and lots of hands. They were of the same color as it's body. Of course, not all of the monster's hands were the one we were privy to just a few moments ago.

These hands all over their body were smaller. That was a useless distinction though as these small hands could still crush entire buildings with small effort.

And now, to the big gun, this thing even had two of it. Of course, those big guns, with each finger being football-field sized, were the hands that could be used to flatten the surrounding kilometer (yes those hands was longer than it's whole body) area and dug a crater that would be mistaken as a giant lake.

"Retreating sounds good, yea?" He said.

"Ji, watch out!" She urged out.

'Oh, crap. Everything in front of me is black!' His instinct was what saved him in the end. His subconscious moved his hand to gather breezing wind on and pointing it to wherever got him to be not dead and alive.

No matter his reflexes, or Sorin, or Kira, or Godu's. Nobody would have gotten away without an injury or so from that.

He was flung, spinning away into the distant background as he desperately tried to regain control.

Shiing!

In the cacophony of throwing fists and breaking stones, there was a singular sound that cut through all of them in a single quick swipe.

It was a vertical, crescent slash dyed in a blue moon. It easily separated the beast in two. It parted seamlessly the land, the sky and the beast's hide as it ventured out and into the horizon.

"I know you're a beast and all... But... That is no excuse to hurt my friends!" He shouted, challenging the very Heavens it self.

"Whoa... How does he have lungs that big?" Monchichi picked herself up from the rubble.

"I guess that man is a shonen hero in the making huh?" And another man, Moji, removing the rubble away from his form.

"Nywow... I already feel inspired by this... Do nyou?" She asked.

He nodded. "Hehe... I could be better but... I do feel better. Can't let that man down can we now? Let's go. We're making him wait."

They zoomed back into the fray.

It was an original tale being written by itself. One pirate, one elementalist human and one anthro cat against this crawling chaos.

Who was going to win this battle of centuries?

---

It extended. Sorin was positioned at the east of the Crawler. Therefore, only the eastern parts of the beast's tendrils were quick to move at their current attacker.

Those building-crushing fists charged at the man standing defiantly on a rooftop, forming on their fingers were hints of a mach cone and fire. "So slow..."

Even though, he was only about a hundred meters away from the humongous body of the Crawler. It just showed that this man was built differently than the others.

He put the blunt part of his blade to his cheek. He grazed the ground with his boot, dragging it across the cracking rooftop.

Before the hypersonic objects could reach him, he spun around with his blade. He slashed through the clump of merging blackness.

Of course, this wasn't enough to fully destroy the incoming darkness. He didn't expect it to anyways. Now, he two-handed his pirate whacker and then spun counter-clockwise.

The result was that the hands were shredded upon impact. It was a physic-defying moment. The razor-bladed winds grew into some sort of shield around the building.

Any attack to him, and his platform's durability were negated. It appeared that he wasn't all so useless outside of mere brute strength.

Breakh!!!

It responded in kind with one of its larger hand. The defense crumbled as quickly as a sandcastle washed with seawater.

"Grrr..." He growled. He straight-up growled in frustration and flexed every single inch of his body.

He tore through the hand and cleaved it in half. More hands converged on his position, regenerating each of those damaged chunks slowly but surely.

"Hey, you're not dealing with one dude here." The Beast reacted to the words with a startling shake.

"Urah!!!" He shouted with all the air in his lungs being expelled in rapid succession.

Air pooled in one clean cube around his limb. He punched the beast's hide. It took out quite a large chasm of flesh and blood from the thing.

It wasn't enough as the beast regenerated from the hit. It was back to new in a short jiffy. After all, it was a bit twisted to make out that their recovery was slow when they were fighting people who view hypersonic objects as slow moving as a walk.

"Hup!" He dodged the pursuing hands.

He jumped and jumped and attracted the hand-shaped tentacles until it strained at the length of which they began their game of tag.

Frustrated. Crawler shouted and moved it's other colossal limb to take out Moji's threat.

While they were cool and all, there seemed to be no chance of them actually killing the mad science experiment permanently.

"Piel De Daga!"

Without other factors involved. "This is what nyou get for being a general nuisance to us all, horrific construct!"

"Air Gatling!" With the words uttered, more than half of the beast was destroyed by the ensuing combo.

And those parts left weren't left untouched. "Twelve Grid Slashes." They were sliced into twelve parts. All of them still giant but nowhere near their previous mass.

It repaired back those divided mass into one again. It gained back almost all of its body mass before being hampered with another volley of cuts, punches and a homing dagger.

So it continued.

---

"Damn, do we have anti-regeneration stuff?" He spoke tiredly. He was sweating. Air Gatling was one hell of a move. It took a lot out of him.

"I need fire..."

He kicked the ground as to avoid those hands. He kicked the air platform he made with his ability and began rocketing all and over the place.

"I will just make one myself..."

And Sorin wasn't looking all that hot either...

He was abusing his blade to an unholy degree. He cut and cut and cut but it was only him slicing teardrops amongst the barreling tsunami. If this keeps up, he was going to have to retreat and regroup.

Meanwhile, Monchichi was doing her best to erase as many as she could. It wasn't a stressful job. But, it was an important one.

It was incredibly maddening to be not able to punch this thing like the others did and instead wait around, hunker down, dodge and hope for the best.

"Zrahhhh..." It wailed. And all the sudden, the gray eyes turned into white ones...

It was bright...

Too bright...

She saw it. Did that thing just plan to put a laser through her? As the sun concentrated, that possibility became threateningly real...

When it zoomed past the surroundings with people shouting, it not only became real. Her death was advancing towards her and she was powerless to do anything to it.

It raced past the sound barrier and approached speeds up to around nine kilometers a second. No one in her group could have defeated that in a race...

However, reacting to it and defecting it with your arms or casting a shield over yourself was a different matter entirely.

Pang!

It sounded like a frying pan being shot by a nine millimeter bullet. It surprisingly held with the blast taking over the surrounding hundred meters or so.

It singed the ground and the air around them. Some even singed the beast. In simpler terms, they were safe, and of which who wasn't was already destroyed, the beast harmed itself in its confusion.

"Everyone!" And everyone truly did hear Hoff's words in their hearts. Fritz and Feo were standing close by the dazed cat.

"Our fight starts for real... Now." It was finale to their doubts and lack of action. Today, they were going to know what both saying really meant.

Those words were kill or be killed and fight or flight.

To be continued.

A/N: Next chapter would be a short one. I don't think it's going to reach one thousand words. But I am bad at math. So who knows?

The next chapter might even be released at sunday.

I will go on a hiatus... Or at least, me releasing a chapter in the next month would be unlikely. Keep your head for updates though. School sucks.
