1 House Hunting

Over my six months of perusing roommate sites, I replied to several posts online and visited 3 in the upper part of California. The three I had previously visited, were mostly occupied of men. I was not comfortable with being the only feminine Identifying person in a suite, on a dingy side of town with only males to rely on for cohabitation.

I needed spice and regular men most of the time, while they had the potential to intellectually stimulate me, they emotionally did nothing. I had met too many men who showed me that they were not trustworthy through their actions. Though not all men are bad. I did have two regular male partners, Most men were only viable to kiss the floor that I walked on. Some are not even allowed to enter the house.

But I'm serious, there was no way I could live in those places. These apartments had pizza smelling carpets, and similar greying porcelain sinks, half filled with pots. As if they had tried to clean before I got there, but didn't have enough time and left the mess. And you don't even want to know about the bathroom hygiene.

Let's just say hairs everywhere. After those terribly mind-boggling experiences I was still on the hunt for another house. A decently clean place that I can call my own. A home I can relax in and build my life as a freelance model to the fullest.

When I first started searching for housing in California, I made a Great/Tolerate/Run list. It was my requirement list for vetting each house to see if it was a good fit for me. My first requirement was no psychopath/serial killers/sex offenders/inmates, everyone, whatever had to go through a background check same with the landlord.

Two, I should not be expected to do all the chores in the house, we split the evenly. The roommates need to understand and respect my privacy as an I'm the only one with the key to the room no one should be stepping around my stuff when I'm there or what I'm not there.

I value my space and privacy and no one else needs to know what I do besides basic background check and that I'm a nice person. I have had enough interactions with others to know that certain people get insecure when they see how I live my lifestyle, and then tried to berate me for how I live. And trust me I don't need that in my living space.

My mother and her second husband were swingers so I might be following in his footsteps, but I would choose a different route. Don't get me wrong I don't think that my parents' lifestyles are wrong because they like to spice up the bedroom life with another person may that be man, woman, queer person.

I think watching TV could've influenced me to think that sometimes I want something more than just sex relations from another human being on top of my significant other. Sometimes, I want multiple significant others romantically and sexually, and I don't see how I can fulfill that need by only having sex with someone else once in a while.

Therefore polyamory seems to be the route I am going for, long term. Sometimes life has a way of validating my experiences.

It could only be a miracle that I crossed paths of a picture with an intriguing house. One that I thought I would never see on Houseslistings.com. It was a gorgeous townhouse! The photo could of been directly from my dreams.

My almond shaped eyes bugged starring at the picture, not believing that this has could even exist. The base was made of a bronze sand colored cement. So mellow and so inviting. Between the first floor and second floor was a plateau of grass. As if the house was built inside of the hill, the architect wanting to achieve a modern style house will living in its natural environment. It was as if the separation of grass worked as a stand in a for a roof over the garage.

From the picture, I could see two garage doors on the first level underneath the platue of grass. The front door was connected to the sidewalk by pink, gray and tan colored slabs of rocks. The colorful stairway was embedded into the hill. So as one goes up the stairway, they are also following them path to the first floor. The first and second floors were long and vaulted so that even a person who is 6'5" could not touch the ceiling and would be comfortable walking around.

Although the house was elongated vertically making the viewers' eye think there is no room to have a proper kitchen, living room and dining, the house was made to maximize space so instead of pushing out parallel to the sidewalk the house stretched perpendicular to the sidewalk. Everything in the house was arranged to that tune. The windows followed the houses shape, tall and wide they allowed light to hit every square space of the interior without overexposing from the exterior.

This place was premium because it was in California, the upper side where there were more trees and less busy than Los Angeles. Living here would allow me to commute 25 minutes to my part-time jobs. Living in Chameo, California would allow me to be closer to my new modeling company that I have a side contract with without being overwhelmed by cars and buses nonstop or have to deal with the high pricing of renting apartments.

I scroll down the page to see how many occupants were living in this rental house. It said if I was to live here, I would have three roommates, leaving me with a cost of $700 to pay every month. I had been searching for six months and is the only place that seemed to have a low enough price for me to even consider moving to California from Georgia.

Here was one post I was eagerly anticipating a reply back for. Their post was short and simple. It was an all-female roommate situation. There were three girls around my age cohabitating in a four-bedroom craftsman near Shouke Park, a gorgeous neighborhood placed a perfect distance from Upper Los Angeles. All three were non-smokers, social drinkers. They didn't have any pets, but they were open to cats and friendly dogs. I had neither, just clothes and a chest of sex toys.

One of the roommates had included pictures of the exterior of the house, one of the kitchens, the living room and the available bedroom and bathroom. The house was perfect! I just hoped that these women were all normal, or at least if they weren't, I hoped they were busy enough that we wouldn't get in each other's way.

I was eager. I hoped this would be the last house I would have to visit. After six months of looking for a space, I was exhausted with the process. I have only a month and a half before my first modeling contract begins and I had to be in the state to even start the process.

Today was the day I would get that that response. Everything was riding on their reply. Compared to the idiotic men pretending to be girls and the gross California apartments from a month ago, my options were looking good.

This townhouse looked great from the inside out. I had to get to know more about the occupants of Chameo.

The first thing once I got back home from work was immediately check my email. Placing myself in my cushy olive-green bean bag I I pulled out my Windows laptop to peruse my emails of potential roommates. Scrolling through my messages. Deleting advertisements and unwanted emails I saw the reply from Nemaco54! I clicked on it and it said.

Dear Katiya,

My roommates and I were pleased to see your reply. I will cut right to the chase. The three of us have a very particular living arrangement. Mira, Copia, and I are lovers. Our fourth roommate Sandra was also involved in their relationship with the three of us. Unfortunately She had to leave due to wanting a different lifestyle. We miss her dearly and are searching for someone to not only pick up her part of the rent, but also to be apart of our relationship.

I understand this is an interesting proposition and in spite of your sexual orientation, I also fully understand if you feel this is something you do not want to be a part of.

Attached is a picture of the three of us. I am the one in black, Mira is the little one and Copia is the one in an orange jumper. Sleep on it please, and if this is something you are interested in, do email me back with a photo of yourself. It looks like we are both on a tight schedule, and I for one would love to get this sorted out as soon as possible. If you want to pass, the both of us clearly have more searching to do. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best, Netarute.
