Starting over

Bucky felt sweat sliding down the side of his head, Estela continued to glare at him. Bucky noticed her hands her cuffed down to the bench that she was on, he saw her top half was all bandaged up but there was a large red stain on the bandage where the injury was and thankfully the bottom half of her suit was still on.

'I'm going to leave you two to...uh...start over.' Steve said, knowing this could become a war zone, he grabbed Bruce and they left. There was a long silence between them, Bucky cleared his throat and looked at the ground.

'Erm...I'm sorry for stabbing you with your knife. I know you were just scared and I lost my temper when reasoning with you didn't work but it's something I'm working on.' Bucky mumbled apologetically, the look on Miller's face didn't change but it had more fury in it now.

Bucky expected Estela to try and break out of the cuffs but instead she sighed and lied her head back, Bucky grabbed a chair and sat right next to the bench.

'Lets start over. Hi, I'm Bucky aaaaaaaaand I don't know what else to say.' Barnes said nervously, he looked at Estela and saw her chuckling lightly, a small smile appeared on his face as he watched her in a non-creepy way. Bucky grabbed out his phone and messaged Steve:

Bucky Barnes: Do you think the oxygen mask is able to come off? Only because I'm trying to have a conversation with her and it's kind of hard to do that when she has it on.

Steve Rogers: I just asked Bruce and he said it should be fine but if she starts having difficulty breathing, then put it on immediately.

Bucky nodded and put his phone away, he leant towards Estela but then she growled threateningly when he was close. Showing that there definitely wasn't enough trust between them.

'It's okay, I'm just taking the oxygen mask off. That's all and I won't touch you again until there's enough trust, okay?' Estela thought about it for a moment before agreeing with a small nod, he leant towards her again and Bucky could tell she was trying hard not to react in any way.

Bucky was able to get the mask off and then turned off the machine which was supplying the oxygen, he sat back down in the chair and looked at Miller who was staring at the roof.

'The world isn't a simple and peaceful as the people make it seem.' Estela hummed, looking at the roof. Bucky became confused at what she said but decided not to ask. 'Estela Miller is my name and that's all I know.' She continued, looking at Bucky with a sad-ish look.

Bucky just wanted to hug her. He just wanted to comfort her and let her sadness go away, but of course that would be kind of impossible in this situation.

Instead, he gently grabbed her hand and placed a light kiss on the back of it, he saw Estela flinch but he didn't care if there wasn't enough trust between them yet. She yawned and began to close her eyes due to lack of sleep, she closed her eyes and she could feel Barnes continue holding her hand while he feel asleep as well.
