Koji's Coffee

Chapter 1:

Random man: "...umm can I get a coffee and…

hmm, yeah just a coffee."

Koji: "sure just a minute please."

My name is Koji. I live in the most messed up region of the whole country, where most people look down at you as if you were only an extra in their perfect lives. After my mom died due to her poor health conditions I decided to find a job to help my dad. My dad is the person who I have always looked up to, hence why I chose to start working 12 hours a day six days a week to help my father pay off his debts. I'm working for the sake of my younger brother as well… I don't want him to have to live with the same worries as I have.

"Here is your coffee sir."

Random Man: "Excuse me. This tastes like swamp water!"

Koji: "I apologise, sir if the coffee isn't to your likings may I get you something else?"

Random Man: "No need I don't feel like having anything else from a place as ordinary as this."

Koji: "Sir I think you are forgetting to pay for the coffee"

Random Man: "Hah, you think I'm going to pay for dirty water?"

Koji: "Sir, this coffeehouse has a reputation for being the best in the region, do you really think we would offend you in this way by serving you low-quality coffee?"

<<Narator>> In this region of the country, which is known as the grasslands, people don't respect working people and it is common to treat them disrespectfully.

Random Man: "I didn't ask about your reputation… you are free to call the police if you want, I'm not paying even if you ask me to."

Koji: "Sir I think you have misunderstood me slightly…

It wasn't a request."

Random Man: "Hmm? Do you know who you are talking to?"

Koji: "Sir I believe I am talking to you, is there anyone else here?"

Random Man: "Ah who cares, I'm wasting my time here, your coffee is cheap anyways!

here 2 Burh."

note: The coffee isn't that cheap...

Koji: "Thank you, sir, come back anytime."

note: Burh is the currency used in the country… the minimum salary is about 7 Burh per hour.

In this country, it is uncommon to see someone with elemental powers. Only about 1 in every 10 people have any at all, but in some cases, they never learn to use their power correctly… I always have been interested in learning how to use my power better; unlike my little brother who thinks of it as a bother.

Koji: My father always encouraged me to play around with our elemental powers despite having one of the weakest elements… Rain. We probably inherited the powers of our mother, she had a water element. My little brother also has a water element. For some reason, I did not inherit the same element…

I have a strange power than no one else in our family has.

I have never seen anyone use before, neither I know how to control well…

"The Rain element!!!

RAIN!!

isn't it amazing?"

*Laughter*

Boss: "aren't you quite proud of your special power, *laugh*, and also you should stop speaking to yourself, you will scare the other customers *laugh*"

Koji: Seems like someone is in a good mood.

"Boss I am very sorry, I won't do this again."

Boss: "Don't worry it's ok, to me you are a funny kid *laugh*"

Koji: "he, he, he…"

Wow, He is in an awfully good mood today.

A few hours later.

"Hey, I'm home!

hmm? There is no one here?

Sota?

Dad?

Maybe they went somewhere?"

Looks like they left a note in the kitchen…

"Hey, Koji we went to the groseri chop to bye some milke."

My father dropped out of school so he can't write too well…

*sigh*

Anyways since they aren't here yet should I start making dinner?
