27 Upheavel at Midtown High

"Wait…what happened? You seem worried?" Maya asked to which Jared shook his head and said "Oh… it's nothing like that. Aunt just said that all the parents whose kids are in Peter's class are going to the school for some reason. It's nothing big so don't worry."

"No no…I should come with you." Maya insisted. "Me as well." Lucia chimed in.

Seeing the situation getting a little out of hand, Hannah decided to step in and said "Both you girls will stay here and train at the dojo. I will accompany Jared to the school." She then pinched Maya's cheek and said "Don't follow us or you will be grounded. I will call you and tell you what has happened the minute I find out okay?"

Maya looked at Jared with a sour expression and then back to her mother and said "Alright..alright…I won't come."

Hannah and Jared started leaving the dojo when Colleen said from the back "Do come back again Jared…you have a lot of potential."

Jared nodded and left the dojo with Hannah. As they were walking down, Hannah asked "So what has happened? Is it something serious?"

Jared just shrugged his shoulders and said "I don't know much…just that one of the professors teaching my brother's class hid his past and now it has been exposed. Someone sent the information to all the parents in his class. So my aunt and the others are going to the school."

Hannah nodded as she was thinking about something. After a few seconds, she said "How can the school allow something like this to happen? I am sure that they have very stringent policies when selecting school teachers. If what you say is true and the teacher does have a dark past then the school might be in heavy trouble for putting the kids with such a person."

Hannah just like a worried overprotective mother continued to shame the school for the next 20 minutes until they reached school. She didn't even know who the professor was and what kind of dark past he had hidden but she had already decided that the professor might be in the wrong.

That's one of the things Jared wanted. He wanted everyone to not just focus on the content but also that it was hidden from everyone. In his previous life, Jared understood that violence is the answer to many things but not everything. Sometimes by just pushing the right buttons, he could get things done that even killing wouldn't do.

Just as they reached school, Jared noticed that parents were crowding at the school gate trying to get inside but the security guards and a few non-teaching staff were stopping them from getting in. There wasn't much violence at this point since they had just found this out less than an hour ago and the non-teaching staff including Derek's dad were trying to calm down the parents.

"Let us in...why are you not letting us inside our kid's school." one of the parents standing in the front of the crowd asked to which Derek's dad replied "Sir...please wait a few minutes, We have been informed about the message that you received and we understand how you might feel. But right now if we let you all in then we fear that someone might do something stupid and the situation will escalate. We don't even know if what the message said is the truth or not."

"Why wouldn't it be the truth? We have all seen the articles that were given as supporting evidence. It is the truth. You all let an inhuman bastard like him near our kids." The man said as he tried to push his way further but Derek's dad and a few others stopped him.

Derek's dad looked at one of the other staff members and said "I don't think we will be able to stop them for long. Inform this to the principal and even call the cops if need be. We can't let Professor Morris in front of these people."

The staff member nodded and went inside the school building. He saw that the kids were also talking about the same matter in the corridors and near the locker rooms. Without paying much heed to the kids, the staff member went to the 2nd floor where the principal's office was located. As he reached outside the door, he heard two men talking. He was tempted to hear what was being said but realizing that not a lot of time was left until the parents barge into the school, he quickly knocked twice.

"Who is it? Come in." a voice came from inside the room. He pushed the door open and saw one man in his late thirties and another in his fifties. The young one was Professor Morris. He had short brown hair, a pair of thick glasses and a shirt and sweater on. The older man was the Principal of the school.

After looking at the two men for a second, the staff member quickly said "Sir, the parents have gathered outside and might rush any moment now. Coach Jones is trying his best to calm them down but nothing is working. Should we call the cops?"

"THE COPS? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?" Professor Morris shouted which even scared the staff member a little.

"Hmmmmm" The principal hummed in a domineering tone at his looked at Professor Morris indicating him to shut up. He then looked at the staff member and said "There is no need to involve the cops in this. I will handle it myself. For now just take the obstacles from the clubhouse and arrange them like a barricade at the gate. Tell the parents to have some patience and I will be right with them."

The staff member who was now scared to say a single word just nodded and immediately left the room. Professor Morris who now had a sour expression on his face looked at the Principal and said "We must find out who sent those texts. We can't let someone do this to us."

"Us? Who is us? None of the things that were in the message were a lie? I already told you while hiring you that I want no part in this dirty past of yours." The Principal said as he waved his hand indicating Professor Morris to leave his office.

"How can you say this? You already knew about my past when you hired me. You can't leave me hanging like this." Morris said as his temper continued to rise.

"I hired you because your father was a friend of mine and you had created a mess that he had to clean. So I just helped him out so he could die peacefully." The principal said in a harsh tone which pushed Morris a little over the edge because the next second, Morris rushed toward the principal and held his collar while pushing him against the wall.

"People didn't understand simple things and I am at fault for that. Just sacrificing a few low lives was more than worth it for my research…If it had been successful, the same people would have worshipped me and you would be here kissing my feat." Morris said as he tried to control his anger but his eyes which were now burning with rage sent clear warnings to the principal that Morris was ready to do whatever it takes.

The Principal held both of Morris's hands and freed his shirt collar from Morris's grip. He adjusted his shirt and said "The best I can do for you is let you escape from here without anyone seeing you. I will make sure to turn you into somewhat of a victim and maybe people will calm down after some time. But don't expect anything more than that."

Realizing that there weren't many options left for him, Morris nodded and said "I will be back uncle…and I will find the one who did this to me. I am sure that it must be someone from the school or else how would they get the parents' contacts. For now tell me how to I get out of here?"

"Take the elevator the cleaning staff uses and go to the basement and exit through the back door where the garbage truck arrives every morning. There must be a few spare janitor clothes in the basement so change into them. The last thing you want is people seeing you while you run away from here."

Morris had many words to say but he was already running short on friends and he didn't want to turn the principal into an enemy. Swallowing his anger and his desire for revenge, Morris left the Principal cabin.
