Tony, completely enraged, emerges to the surface and activates the flamethrower to scorch the terrorists, but begins to receive a large number of shots. Combining it with the fire complicates his situation, so he activates the thrusters of his suit to escape, but it doesn't last long because he ends up crashing in the desert. At that moment, without his armor, Tony starts walking through the desert not knowing where he'll end up. But a miracle happens because soon Tony is found by the US army and his friend Rhodey.

Then he decides to finish building his armor, and we see the armor starting to assemble on Tony's body, revealing a silver-colored iron armor, the Mark 2. Tony tests it and takes off. As he soars into the sky, excitement runs through his body. He decides to test the power of the armor by flying higher, but soon we see the armor starting to freeze.

The armor freezes completely, and its system shuts down. Tony starts falling rapidly while trying to restart the armor. As he gets close to the ground, the armor reignites, and he manages to save himself from a potentially painful fall.

Tony returns to his workshop where he starts making some adjustments to his armor, and we can see a file called Mark 3, which will have several upgrades. But Tony soon discovers a party in his name to which he wasn't invited. So, he decides to see what's happening, but upon arrival, he encounters a familiar face at the entrance.

[Tony, remember me?]

[No, of course not.]

[You look good, Jeff.]

"Wow, a party and not invited."

"Can you imagine not being invited to your own party?"

"Someone noticed that Jeff hasn't changed."

"That old man wasn't with Captain America, isn't he supposed to be dead???"

"How is that old man alive???"

At the party, he meets Agent Coulson, who makes an appointment to discuss how he escaped from the cave, but he encounters a reporter who accuses him of being a liar because his weapons were used to destroy a village the day before. Seeing this, Tony realizes something and goes to confront Obadiah, but he confesses that he replaced him to continue manufacturing weapons.

Later, Tony observes that civilians are still being attacked with his weapons, so he decides to confront them. He starts equipping his new armor, the Mark 3, which has several improvements besides being red and gold. In the midst of the conflict, he starts killing the terrorists and saving the civilians.

At nightfall, we see Obadiah with the terrorists, where they gather to discuss negotiations and see Tony's first armor. But he ends up betraying the terrorists and stealing the armor. The next day, Tony orders Pepper to infiltrate his company to retrieve information, but Obadiah realizes it and decides to set his plan in motion. However, he discovers that he doesn't have a power source for his armor, so he decides to steal the arc reactor that Tony has in his chest to use it in his armor.

"And he died."

"Betrayed by his own family."

"The power of capitalism."

"Well, folks, that's the end of the playboy."

"He's totally dead."

After getting the arc reactor, Obadiah went to Stark Industries to start operating his new armor. But Pepper, along with Agent Coulson and some other agents, arrived at the company to arrest Obadiah, but they discover his new armor and he starts destroying everything. Pepper and Coulson manage to escape but are soon cornered, but Tony arrives to rescue them, all thanks to still having his old reactor, which keeps him alive for the moment.

A fight develops between Iron Monger and Iron Man, initially Iron Man was losing, but after fighting for a while, Tony comes up with a great idea to fly into space. Iron Man flies into the sky, and Iron Monger, seeing him escape, decides to chase him. Their fight resumes in the sky, but soon Iron Monger discovers that his armor starts failing, and this is due to the freezing problem.

[It was a great idea, but my suit is much better in every way.]

[You solved the freezing problem.]

Everything seems to have ended, but Obadiah returns to kill Tony. However, Pepper, under Tony's orders, causes the main reactor to overload and expel all its energy upwards. Pepper didn't want to do it because it could kill Tony, but due to the pressure of the situation, she listens to Tony and overloads the reactor, causing Obadiah's death and immobilizing Tony.

He seemed to be dead because he wasn't moving, and his reactor was off. But the scene changes, and now Tony, who is at a press conference, decides to break protocol and reveal that he is Iron Man, exciting all the people who were trying to interview Tony. But the scene changes again, and now we see Tony at his house where he finds someone.
