Khanum

In a dark realm behind the grey mist lay a castle.

Its exterior was made of obsidian and cracked stone. The only light that could be seen was the floating purple fire that littered the edges of the castle. A shadowy creature dashed across the estate and into the throne room.

Kahnums figure was atop the throne. His skin looked pale compared to the dark robes he wore. The robes opened at the chest revealing the glowing purple gem embedded in his chest.

A black crown sat upon his head with his long hair draped across his shoulders.

His face held a bored expression as all the various shadows were reporting back to him about the news within the kingdom.

Noticing a familiar servant approaching, Khanums mood changed. He began to watch the shy shadows make its way through the line as the other shadows growled and hissed when the shadow, Cirian bumped into them.

"M-Master I have brought important news." They stammered. Kahnums lips curved into a small smile.

"What news do you bring Cirian?" Kahnum asked the nervous shadow. They looked down and began to tell Kahnum of their discovery.

"Th-The third pu-pure heart has been found" Cirian stuttered as all the shadows began to shake and quiver at Khanums reaction.

Kahnums looked down as he breathed in.

"Has it now?" He asked eerily calm. Breathing out black smoke. Standing up he walked by Cirian

Suddenly all the shadowy creatures began to cower as Kahnum walked past Ciran and addressed the nervous court.

" Eliminate this 'pure heart'. If I find out they are not dead or at least incapable of fighting, you will be severely punished! You have 7 days. Now GO!" He boomed as all the shadows flinched, scurried out of sight.

All that was left was Cirian and Kahnum. His steps now echoed as he walked behind Cirian and put his hands around their shoulders

"You've done well my little shadow" Kahnum stated as he cupped Cirans chin and made them look into his eyes.

"Since you are the most capable shadow I have, would you keep an eye on these 'pure hearts?' " He requested as Cirian slightly melted at the praise and request.

"I will do my best master," They said before Kahnum opened a portal for Cirian as they disappeared out of sight.

Kahnum sat back on his throne and opened a little window showing the girls walking back to the village. He smirked and gave a deep chuckle.

"May the games begin, princesses"
