The novel was a tolerable novel until chapter 4 where mc leaves his safety to go into risky places for resources... The catch is mc is a flipping son of the clan head... Where the flip does he need resources. Even if his talent is horse ****, every flipping one knows the general priority rules for any wuxia or xianxia 1 is Mentality 2 is resources 3 is background 4 is talent If mcbis a poor snob sure he need to risk because he need resources. But mc have resources at the tips of his fingers and still go riak his life? Thats the most illogical BS possible.
Other than the fact that the MC has a goal, pretty much everything is generic in that synopsis. King of Mercenaries - Usually the MC is displayed as stupid in the new world (looking at you Duan Ling Tian). Weakest Martial Soul - Ok, all xianxias/wuxias have this crap so I won't complain. Lover taken by one of the 'most powerful' forces - No one likes this trash. Even a great original novel in this site was insulted and thrashed cause of this stupid trope. Hopefully his journey isn't as generic as other novels (probably will be anyway), the usual powerup - girl - young master rage - force behind young master - powerup - destroy/subdue force - new area - repeat process entire novel.
This book is, what can I say, a great book if you haven't read a lot of Chinese books. But once you have already read tens of novels of different genres and themes, it becomes unbearable as it takes almost all of the clichés in Chinese novels. After reading to about 100 chapters, I started feeling kind of irritated. Well, nobody's perfect.
Its ok like a regular martial arts novel but something could be done better around the characters and the story line. The characters written are fine but the story olot seems to be a bit weak. I am not a very big fan for martial art novels but the beginning of this novel compelled me to give it a read but reaching the last page neither i was too happy nor too disappointed but it could be much better
Yup nothing new, again the same scenario like king of mercenaries or king of assassins etc. with same genre of reborn in another martial arts world. Can't Qidian release some different genre like evolutionary variation or fan-fiction? There aren't much novels in these genres and even zero in fan-fiction.
Honestly not bad, just quite boring sometimes, I mean yeah it's cliche, but so what, I don't really mind that much. But honestly there's just too much filler, unnecessary conflicts, unnecessary side stories and simply unnecessary chapters that make this book tedious to read. I mean I still read up to the latest chapter (1707), that being said though, I probably only read about 1000 of those chapters, out of those 1000 chapters I skimmed through probably half of them, so yeah, quite boring, but if you want to pass some time reading something, this is a book for you. (What has happened in these 1707 chapters could have been written in less than a 1000 chapters.)
Okay, this review is going to be the same as a lot of others... it is trash. You could throw this novel in a landfill and the McDonalds box next to it would be more appealing to look at. Honestly, the story is this, cliche, cliche, cliche, cliche... I will talk about the first few chapters for now: The first wife was so forgettable that I forgot the point of him cultivating was too fight that prince guy or whatever, my first question is why was she abandoned in that village that was wiped out? She clearly had some status and they didn't give her a chance to awaken her Martial Spirit at the place she comes from? Why did they come only after Su Mo awakened her Martial Spirit for her? It makes zero sense and it only makes sense once you realize that the author probably made this plot is because he had no other way of justifying Su Mo's journey of cultivation. That is just one of the many broken plots throughout the entire story. I have no problems with the story that have cliches, it is impossible to completely avoid, but this story literally uses the same cliche within 50 Chapters. For a novel that is asking for 6-8 Stones per chapter, with the number of side stories and filler that add nothing to his character and just further personifies the cliches in the story, I will say it again... this story is literal hot garbage.
It's like the author copy and pasted all the story cliches from this website spewing them out quicker than the worlds fastest premature ejaculator. The cliches and plot armor is so fast that Volno and BMWD are installing it on their 2019 car line up. Some say Space Exe. are developing a new fuel source with this as its main component.
I want to give my stone to something, for the sake of exp. But I cant forgive myself for giving a stone to yet another generic novel about some kid that resurrects into a new world, and is given a special power that makes him the most abhorrent and rude idiot this side of MMORPG:RLG. If I read one more face slapping novel I may throw up. Maybe it's time to join the female side?
overall it's a good story. even with the occasional translation error it was easy to understand what the author was trying to say. the only flaw I have is that the author won't release the final chapters it seems so if you want to finish the story it seems like the author wants more of your money. while I've enjoyed it I don't think I'm gonna be spending that much money just to finish reading only for there to be a chance that he never completed it in the first place
If you are a beginner to cultivation novels you might enjoy it. If you a veteran you might as well be on your way. I've read to chapter twenty, yet I've come across cliché on cliché on trope on trope inside cliché. Genius turned trash in the first 2 chapters, discovers he basically has cheats on in the next moment, followed by chance encounter then by hordes of people coming in wave after wave, calling him trash as he kills them as they come. [eye roll]
