Chapter 30: Root of Bitterness

Luo Na rushed up to her brother along with Wei Yue and the others.

She was surprised to find out Xiao Na strangling a girl and afterwards let her go.

"Xiao Na! Who is she?"

"An intruder. She wasn't one of XuanZheng's minions but she mentioned about Zhuge Liang."

Luo Na's eyes shook.

'Why would Zhuge Liang send someone from the ninth heaven? Isn't he breaking rules about Gods not passing through the realm of humans?'

Luo Na helped up Zhuge LanRong and carried her arm in arm. She eyed a white crane perching above a tree.

"Is someone following you?"

"No. I am certain that I'm alone."

"Really?"

Luo Na ran up to the nearest guard post taking a bow and arrow in her hand. She stretched the bow and fired up the arrow. The crane fell down on the ground instantly.

"So, are you certain that you aren't alone?"

"No. Not until I saw that thing right now."

As Wei Yue heard their conversation, he asked to bring LanRong inside.

"She isn't safe outside. Knowing Zhuge Liang, he would never let someone stain his own name especially if it's his own daughter. Let's bring her inside and ask her about Zhuge Liang's plans."

"Alright."

Xiao Na and the others agreed. Zhang, King Fu, Xian Hua and Li An were clueless about Zhuge Liang so they needed to her LanRong explain everything and why did she disguise herself as JiangMei.

They all sat back at the hall. At the time they were all seated, Wei Yue asked him few series of questions.

"If you're Zhuge Liang's own daughter, why do you think he can afford to send you?"

"Because I agreed to his conditions. If I find the whereabouts of the box, only then he will help me for the selection."

"What is this selection do you speak of?"

"Selection of the delegates of the divine. It will happen every 500 years and my chance of being inside the delegation circle is very low so my father offered me a deal which I couldn't refuse."

"You also spoke about the box. What is this box?"

"The box of the Na siblings. The Shangguan Longyan box."

She pointed out Xiao Na and Luo Na. Wei Yue nodded and concluded something in his mind.

'These siblings are in terrible danger.'

King Fu stood from his seat and clapped his hands to clear off the awkward aura between his new guest and his own guests.

"Okay, okay enough with this Zhuge Liang... Let us all celebrate this night for... Xiao Na found a girl!!!"

"HAAAAH?"

All of them gasped. King Fu laughed to his heart's content.

Xiao Na and LanRong's meeting was a fateful one. Even if they'll get to know each other, Xiao Na might strangle her to death.

Hearing about King Fu meddling about Xiao Na's personal life, Xiao Na unexpectedly drank many mug-full of liquor that night. Dragon Blade's liquors are the best because even people with 100% alcohol tolerance are knocked off afterwards.

Wei Yue and Xian Hua were totally drunk after drinking 3 mugs. King Fu helped Wei Yue up while Luo Na helped Xian Hua back to their chambers.

Meanwhile, Xiao Na... His face is now turning red and he could see that nobody wanted to help him get back to his chamber.

'Ah, I really shouldn't have drunk Dragon Blade's fire beer.'

He was about to fall off descending down the stairs when a hand assisted him.

Thunder rumbled down the skies of Suzhou and after a while, a lightning stroke the ground burning the nearby trees beside Qian Manor.

A man with long black hair with pale eyes suddenly appeared. His breath emitted a smoke which indicated that he's mad.

Just with the sight of the man, the townspeople ran up back to their houses.

'KILL KILL....'

The man rushed along the streets of the town running like a wild animal. This time, fangs bared from his mouth and his hands and feet transformed into fearsome claws.

The townspeople gasped as the running wild animal ran the same road where Wei Yue and the town's heroes went.

LanRong helped Xiao Na descend down the stairs. She did not know why or when she's tangled up to this mess. But there's one thing she knew...

'My conscience couldn't take it if this man falls down the stairs.'

She helped Xiao Na up step by step...

'Almost there....'

She almost held her breath as she felt Xiao Na's breath against her face.

'Why did this guy decide to get drunk if he couldn't help himself to his room.'

LanRong was about to curse the heavens when she felt that she lost her balance and Xiao Na and her fell down the stairs.

'Oh no... I'm going to get my bones crushed.'

She closed her eyes but she felt arms wrapped around her preventing her from getting injured.

"A-are you alright?"

"Mmm."

Xiao Na protected her from the fall. Even though he's a bit woozy from the liquor, his reflexes are still fine.

LanRong kept her composure so she stood up and helped the drunk Xiao Na to his chamber.

Zhuge Liang slammed his table seeing that his daughter acted soft towards one of the Na siblings.

'Love leads to bitterness!'

Zhuge Liang gritted his teeth. The anger inside him exploded like a volcano. He had then recalled his past. The Na siblings and that man stole away the one he loved the most... JiuTian XuanWu...

Eversince they were young, Zhuge Liang admired XuanWu. He always acted as her big brother everytime she got picked by other celestials. However, as time had passed, XuanWu changed into a strong an independent Goddess. As they were elected as delegates for the divine selection, XuanWu showed her benevolence towards the humans and that made her feel attached to them until, XuanWu conceived the children and spent most of her time living as a normal human. Zhuge Liang knew that he have to get to her somehow. When he knew that XuanZheng, XuanWu's twin sister wanted to get hold of Na ShaoTian, he hatched a plan to make XuanZheng wage war among the human realm and caused a distraction to make XuanWu return to the ninth heaven. He knew that XuanZheng would be responsible for the war and only her would be thrown out to the dire necropolis due to her obsession.

Recalling the past events, Zhuge Liang released a sinister laugh.

'I got away many times and I will always get away with scott-free.'

Zhuge Liang, the God of Cleverness and Master Strategist of the Divine is one master of deception.

Love had taken a toll on him and that became the root of his bitterness.

Xiao Na awakened and found himself lying on bed. He budged at his side but he felt that someone had been lying by his side the whole time.

He held his head. It seemed like his skull had been split open due to the pain. He looked at his side and saw LanRong sleeping soundly.

He smiled and caressed her hair.

LanRong awakened and looked at Xiao Na with surprise. She immediately retorted herself and stayed away from Xiao Na.

"A-are you going to strangle me again?"

Xiao Na's soul almost went outside his body. He had recalled about him strangling LanRong to death on their first meeting. He slapped himself using his hand.

'WHAT A FOOL AM I!'

He continued to punish himself but LanRong stopped him.

"H-Hey... Stop doing that."

"I-I'm sorry... I'm not used to talking to girls except my sister."

"O-Oh Umm... I see..."

"S-ssorry for strangling you before..."

"Mmm..."

LanRong nodded and the stiff atmosphere around them melted away.

The effect of the liquor haven't subsided yet and it has been two hours after Xiao Na drunk himself to death. LanRong could still smell the odor of the liquor lingering around Xiao Na but she did not mind.

"LanRong, have you kissed a guy before?"

"H-Huh?"

'Why bring up a shameless topic? Oh right. He's drunk. Go flow along with it LanRong, or else you'll get strangled again.'

"Umm.... No... Have you kissed a girl before Xiao Na?"

"N-no... I tend to stray myself away from emotions since I studied at Tangmen."

"Hmm.... I see..."

"But, maybe it's my first time kissing a girl, and I'm going to kiss her now."

Xiao Na leaned forth and captured LanRong's lips.

While Zhuge Liang was sipping tea, he saw LanRong and Xiao Na's lips touched each other.

He immediately spew the tea on his crystal ball.

'I'm going to kill that child when she comes back here!'
